Comfort Inn Monticello

Bed too high, unable to comfortably sit or get on the bed. Lost cable service for a few hours. Layout is strange, register at front door, elevator and luggage carts in back. Unable to figure out how to get from 1st floor to front lobby, no signage. No signage for rooms at an intersection.

We have stayed in this hotel 5 or 6 times it is very newly remodeled very nice breakfast if you were having surgery at Martha Jefferson it is the perfect location that is why we have stayed here The only bad thing is when Need a cart To how your luggage You have to push the card outside in the dark To get to your room You cannot do it from the inside of the hotel They need to have a ramp instead of steps to keep your cart on the inside of the hotel for safety

The breakfast bar is amazing. It’s clean and quiet and has a gym that’s functional.

Location is good, right off exit and it seemed like a quiet area. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Pool was a good size but was kinda dirty. Breakfast was great with lots of options. Outside could use some maintance. Id stay again.

Rooms are always in excellent condition if you have a surgery scheduled at Martha Jefferson Hospital this is the best hotel to stay at we didn't even get checked out today came back after the doctor visit to stay another night checked right back into the same room the staff is wonderful parking lot is well lit and the pool was extremely nice we have stayed here multiple multiple times and are always will satisfied

The hotel is freshly remodeled the lady at the front desk was very kind my surgery was later in the day and they allowed us to check out at noon the only negative thing I would say is if you're pushing a cart with all of your luggage you have to go outside and back in another door you cannot do it from inside the hotel that is a safety factor for me especially at night we are staying there again next week it is a nice hotel

When we checked in the computer was giving the clerk a hard time since I used the pay in advance features on Expedia (recurring theme throughout weekend). We were not told the only elevator on the property was out of order until we tried to use it. My wife can not do stairs. Front Desk switched us to a first floor room. I\'d would have said: "quickly switched us" except for the computer issues. The room was pretty nice. It had a few problems though. The box for the cable to the tv was pulled off the wall. The bathroom vent looked like it hadn\'t been touched in years. Checking out was more computer problems! I finally had to give the lady my email address in hopes that they would send my a copy of the receipt. I did get the receipt the following day. Other problems I saw: Some piece of equipment in the back of the hotel was beeping loudly when we came back from dinner the first night. There is no way for a wheelchair to go between the rooms and lobby/breakfast area without going outside and around the building. first floor ice machine was not working. Would I recommend this hotel? Maybe. I would not recommend it until the construction nearby is totally finished.

Large hotel with no signs directing you to room numbers

The room appeared clean and comfortable although we did experience a problem with ants. The pool was closed which was very disappointing in 81 degrees. Breakfast was poor. If rooms are not serviced daily we needed more than 2 sachets of coffee! The reception desk was friendly but we didn’t see any cleaning staff during our 2 night stay.

The staff all worked very hard and the breakfast was excellent. The pool was mostly closed, which was disappointing, but everything was clean and exactly what we needed.

No maid service on weekends Had to make beds and go to main desk for fresh towels. Bathroom towels few were dirty Bathroom shower curtain smelled No exhaust system in bathroom.

There was so much dirt on the air conditioning vent I had to clean it so that we weren’t breathing in dirty air all night. The bathroom fan was caked with dust. Caked! The mini fridge cabinet hadn’t been dusted in years. That’s no exaggeration. The phone to call the front desk had crud and dust where the phone sits in the cradle. They say all surfaces are sanitized. I highly doubt that. It’s pretty hard to sanitize something while leaving the dust behind! I felt very uncomfortable staying there. My shoes were on at all times because it was obvious the carpet hadn’t been cleaned in awhile either. Just gross.

Overall rating would be B+. The bathtub was clean but stained and felt like the tub floor had bubbles under it. Left food in fridge from previous guests.

Check in went well, everyone was very nice. But when we were ready for bed we found bugs in our sheets. The reception changed our room but the second room had bugs as well. I would not recommend this property.

Comfort Inn at Monticello was surprisingly very good! Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable. The breakfast fine... the bathroom was slightly outdated, but still worked perfectly and was very clean. We'd stay here again and again. It's a little far from UVA...maybe 15 minutes, so location for UVA isn't perfect but it's a very nice hotel for less.

Our first room had ants. Staff was accommodating and gave us another room. Second room had a dirty bathroom sink. What else wasn’t clean, beds? Don’t know because we immediately checked out and got another hotel.

Joining room with unknown. Each customer could hear normal conversations being heard through connecting door for joining room. No sleep and privacy. Totally unhappy with experience.

The hotel is newly renovated and very nice. Bed was super comfortable- great value!!

The room was very comfortable, clean, everything worked as it should, and the cost was in linewith the competition.

Didn't like that at first they put us in a room that had a connecting door to the next room and we could hear all their conversations so loud. However, we requested to be transferred to another room and that was done immediately, so we appreciated the staff for that. In the second room, however, we could hear voices coming from other rooms when using our bathroom. Overall, an okay experience given the cleanliness and the good breakfast.

Stayed here many times over the years. Stayed here twice since the complete remodel, Nicely done. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and a nice breakfast!

Our 1 night stay here was great. Check in was pleasant and smooth. The room was updated, clean and comfortable. Bed linens and pillows very soft. Room was quiet. Breakfast was good, dining area large. Super good value

Staff was not helpful when there was an issue with my reservation through expedia. They just said you need to work it out on your own.

From check-in to breakfast to check-out, every one of the staff greeted us with a smile!

The woman at the desk was very kind. However, upon arriving to Comfort Inn Monticello at 11:00pm, we discovered that they will not accommodate any locals within a 50 mile radius. This is due to the fact that they have had a lot of damage and rule breaking from local residents. I did not see anything regarding this policy when booking our room. While we understand the frustration on their part from damaged rooms, it seems a bit unfair to deny someone a room because of where they are from. I really hope that we will get our money back.

Not a terrible place to stay. Though a bit rundown. The worst part was the incompetence of the management and staff. At 2am, we got a rapid knock on our door - thinking the building was on fire or the cops were serving a warrant, I got out of bed. Instead, the manager on duty was having an issue with her system and “wasn’t sure” if the room was occupied. Then, like a mother scolding a child says, “never mind, go back to bed!”. I was in bed. Sleeping. Like people do at a hotel, until I was awoken at 2am. To add insult to injury, I called the hotel after my stay, requesting the appropriate channels for filing a complaint. I was told someone would call me back - one week later and still nothing. Probably wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Didn’t get a chance to stay. My power went out at my home and needed a place to stay just one night until power came back on. My wife and daughter and I booked on hotels.com and just went to check in, explained our situation and was rudely turned away because they say their policy doesn’t accept locals. Even with our circumstance we were told we can’t stay and now I’m out of 140$ and still had to book another hotel that gladly accommodated us for the night in the same area!

Just far enough out of the city to escape the noise and traffic congestion but yet very convenient

Great location away from busy traffic , nice clean fairly new renovation i think , bed was great , nothing fancy but a nice clean place to stay znd more affordable than orhers in the area, staff was very nice and welcoming

The breakfast was great! Full hot breakfast. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Conveniently located near Monticello and the University of Virginia.

Like that they included breakfast, but had to buy coffee somewhere else, it was very weak and other guests in the breakfast room were saying the same thing

Room was clean , hotel had a clean smell in the hall walking to your room ! Breakfast was a hot breakfast with eggs cornbeef hash !! Loved it !! Mark

The hotel was a bit difficult to get to even though we could see it clearly. The rooms were fine. The breakfast in the morning was sparse at best and the person attending it was not very attentive to what was needed.
