Check in was quick and easy and the girl working the front desk was lovely. The room was fine upon first glance but the bathroom sink had a hard time draining and there was a smell coming from the room. We were on the 4th floor and our 2nd of 2 nights the elevator was broken. It was still broken the following morning and we had to carry all of our stuff down 3 flights of stairs which was annoying. They also never came to clean our room after our first night, not sure if that’s common for here or not.

The only thing that was confusing was how to get to the actual hotel. It is placed behind a restaurant I believe and it felt like a one way but once I realized where it was, everything was good. The room had a nice fragrance to it and was very clean. I will definitely come back to Clarion Pointe when I return to Charlottesville.

Overall it was good. It's located behind a business (Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers) and is hard to get in/out of due to busy street. But the staff was friendly, the room was clean, the food was okay (not great but okay). Fire alarm in the middle of the night was not fun but there was no fire only a prank so all was good.

Found mold in many places within my room. I have photos that show it on the walls, ceiling, phone and even THE BED!!! Asked for a refund and Expedia is still working on trying to make that happen but I was told that the hotel themselves are denying the waiver for a refund even with picture proof. Manager on staff even said “we’ll let us know if you’re leaving so we can rent that room out since we are fully booked tonight.” It was pretty shocking.

I don't know why so many reviews said the property was clean when our room smelled like mold and mildew and was damp, there was urine stains on the toilet, stuck hairs and glue (i hope) on the light switch, the duvet was yellow, and the shower faucet sprayed outside the tub.

Front desk staff was welcoming and pleasant. Gave me keys to an already-occupied room, which was shocking and embarrassing for both my family and the occupants of the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower water pressure was great, but we saw two cockroaches. Breakfast was good, but was not opened on time.

The room was musty smelling so I lowered the a/c setting. When I went to take a shower, there was mold all around the closed drain and on the drain plug. I cleaned it the best I could. If I ever decide to try this place again, I will bring some mold killer spray and air freshener.

The check-in process was good - we were put on the 4th floor. Our room had a funny odor and when looking closer, the floor was wet near the air conditioner and we found mold on the ceiling. We were moved to another room. That one smelled better, but I still found black specks on the ceiling. The bathroom vent was extremely dusty and black. Breakfast was decent though!

We have stayed here before, and the hotel was very good. This time we were put on the first floor, previous visits we were on the higher floors. Unfortunately, this time we could hear everything in the rooms next-door, and the bed was very uncomfortable.

It was just okay. The bathroom had a strong bleach odor, which I guess is good that it was clean. We left for the day at 10 am, came back by 11 that night and our room was never cleaned and we weren't given any fresh towels. The walls are VERY thin. We could hear the conversations of both of our neighbors who weren't being loud at all. Breakfast was simple but good. Staff was friendly. Ample parking.

The property was fine and the room was clean and quiet. When we arrived at 11:00pm the front desk employee was sound asleep and impossible to awaken for over 5 minutes. Very awkward and frustrating.

Showed up and was given keys to a room that had someone actually living in it. Suitcases of clothes, ironing board pulled out, furniture all over the place (see photo). Went back to front desk and they somehow didnt know? Then said that they didnt have a king room only a different room with a queen but would not give any refund for the difference. Very sketch. Avoid.

My husband got stuck in the bathroom, the door was stuck. Even without the lock, he couldn't open it. I tried to call the front desk, no answer. I called the main number, it had a voice mail saying to dial "O" for the front desk. Still no answer. I went down and told the desk assistant. She said she will be right there. After about 10 minutes, I called again, no answer again. I went down again and told her we needed help as soon as possible. She came with me with another guy. They both tried to open the door, no luck. She called the fire department. They came soon with an axe and other equipment. Finally took off the lock and my husband got out. Soon after, the police came. Now in the space of the lock, there is a big hole. The lady had the nerve to tell us that we won't be charged. For what? Being locked in the bathroom? I said we should get some compensation. she said she will talk to the manager about this. Next night I asked her again, she said she had someone there, will call back. No response after that. It was the same lady "Crystal" from the first night. Today, before checking out I talked to the desk agent (I think her name was Tabatha), and she said she will report it. My husband did not take his phone in to the bathroom. He was saying if he were alone, he would've had to stay there till check out time (2 days) when someone would check.

We arrived at the hotel and were given a key to our room—only to walk in and find it already occupied, with someone else’s belongings inside. Shocked, we returned to the front desk, where the staff member was surprisingly unapologetic and dismissive. They handed us a new key, but unbelievably, the second room was also already occupied. At this point, we insisted that the staff physically check the third room before handing us another key. We followed them upstairs, and thankfully, they knocked—because someone answered the door. That’s three occupied rooms in a row. Finally, the fourth room was unoccupied and clean enough to stay in. This experience was not only frustrating, but also deeply concerning from a safety and privacy standpoint. The hotel’s booking system is clearly disorganized and insecure. We were stunned by how casually the staff handled something so serious. Would not recommend.

The front desk never checked me in- marked me as a no-show- four day stay each night had to get a new room key after working 14 hours. The breakfast was basically kool aid, cold coffee and toast. Asked front desk how to cast on the tv- told multiple times that that they would get back to me- which they never did. To get to guide in tv had to turn tv on and off each time. Clean and the female staff was extremely friendly-

Check-in was very strict and 4PM. We arrived at 3:15 and were told there were a few rooms for early check in but already taken. The receptionist couldn’t be more professional. A few guests arrived after us and were very rude to her, expecting (demanding) early check in to which she handled perfectly. Wish we got her name so we could let someone know how great she was. Cleaning crew also seemed to be running behind getting rooms ready by 4. The lobby is clean and the building seems to be in a safe place. The entrance is tricky as it is behind a Raising Canes Restaurant and the parking lot is kind of tight but no real complaints there. You can tell they recently renovated the building but some concerns there. The room was clean but we saw tiny evidence of mold around the window. Leads me to think the fresh paint may have just covered something that should have been fixed. Beds were comfortable and we slept great. TV had some issues randomly but still worked. Shower took a while to get hot and was above luke warm. The breakfast the next day is what we expected. Waffle maker, cereal, muffins, yogurt and frozen breakfast sandwiches. They kept running out of coffee which was annoying. All in all this place is what we needed. We were only there to sleep as we came in for a concert at John Paul Arena which is only 1.5 miles away in a straight shot which was perfect. Would recommend for a quick trip but if staying in the room for an expanded period of time, you can do better.

This is an acceptable and economical option for an overnight stay in the area. The entrance is difficult to find, and you're likely to pass it coming from either direction. My room was clean and up-to-date, with a mini fridge and microwave. No one was at the front desk for check-in when I arrived. The wait was probably less than 10 minutes. The complimentary breakfast was just okay. A lot of carbs and no fresh fruit. The long, tall table intended for laptop use was full of tiny dead bugs from the overhead lighting, I suppose, but no one came by to clean it the whole time I was there.

At first it was great. For two days…. So we added some extra days and stayed there 5 nights. But the breakfasts got less and less. Each day they said they’re expecting an arrival of their breakfast order. First omelets and bacon were gone. By the last day there were only starchy breast foods like bagels, toast, or waffles. They didn’t even have milk for cereal. Otherwise they were great.
