The hotel is in a nice location on a semi-private beach. The public areas, such as the pool and bar, are quite nice and well-kept. What brings the hotel down are the shabby rooms with broken electrical fixtures, non-existant WiFi in their “WiFi Hotspots”, and frayed and threadbare sheets and towels. And the ridiculously high price they are asking for it. The exterior of the hotel looks like it was once a grand hotel that has been through a couple of hurricanes too many! There are better options for the money in La Paz. That having been said, it was very convenient to stay at for access to The Cortez Club next door, who are a very good snorkeling, diving, and fishing outfit to go on an adventure with. We stayed for 1 night as we went out on an excellent adventure the next day, a combination trip of snorkeling at the San Rafaelito Sea Lion Colony, a lunch stop at Playa Ballandra, and then the chance to snorkel with Whale Sharks. This activity was so amazing that it was worth putting up with 1 night in the La Concha Hotel.

Hotel needs update! Toilet did not work no elevators had to walk up three floors. No one spoke English to help us with inquiries. The outdoors needed redo. Pool was in poor shape and not very safe wobbly ladders. The staff at times were rude except for the housekeeping, she was very nice and did a good job.

Safe on-site parking was excellent, we were outside of town but still nearby, so it was fairly quiet. Lots of cats. The restaurant was nice in the morning and the landscape architecture was definitely appreciated. Bad news- definitely no WiFi in the room… and we needed it. WiFi was advertised in the lobby, but that didn’t work either. Trouble when you need to download local maps!

Grounds beautiful with on site beach. Restaurant excellent for breakfast and dinner. Beach palapas readily available. First night room assigned 205 was less than desirable. Poorly maintained bathroom and shower. Room not to standards either. We relayed our dissatisfaction but no available rooms until next day. Staff showed us three rooms for second night and we chose Room 238 at the end of the bldg. Room was updated and had mini fridge and coffee maker. No Wifi access from this room. Although toilet and shower was updated, still had issues with outdated shower head and faucets. If we were assigned this room for both night, would have rated property 4 stars. Restaurant staff was excellent. Would come back again with stay in nicer room. Good value.

It was a great facility! It has everything we needed! The beach right in front of the hotel with service! Breakfast available, lunch and dinner, live music on the weekends. A full bar! Pool! Taxis were available at all times! It was just perfect! We had a great experience me and my husband! We will see you again, hotel la concha!

The grounds at this hotel are amazing! Wonderful pool, beach access, and restaurant overlooking the water. Unfortunately the rooms are outdated, with mold, uncomfortable beds, and the absolute bare minimum (no refrigerators). It is also incredibly noisy, with music blaring into the whee hours.

The good….. The resort itself is beautiful… safe. You get this big private beach, clear, beautiful water, palm trees, etc. they take really good care of the landscape. The bad…. They have bugs in their room, they’re not bedbugs because I looked them up, but they are in the beds. They look like a little flying gnats. They bit up my ankles. The food is horrible, they are always out of items on the menu. I wasn’t the only guest that has had this problem and this isn’t my first time staying at this resort and it seems to be an ongoing problem. The steak and beef brisket are not fresh. I couldn’t even eat my dinner, and they didn’t comp it. They made me still pay for it. You will wait 30 minutes before your order is taken, you will wait another 45 minutes for your food or another 30 for them to tell you they don’t have it in the kitchen and if you’d like to order something else by then you’re waiting over an hour for dinner. They’re not apologetic, the staff outside does not care. It’s unfortunate because the resort itself looks beautiful.. La Paz doesn’t have a big selection of resorts with private beaches. So I would probably stay here again, I will just continue to Uber out for food. Also, you will wait 12 to 20 minutes for a Uber to pick you up. The resort is about a 10 minute drive to the downtown area.

The location is ideal. Right on the beach, great water to swim in. The food was good, with two good places to eat, over the water for breakfast was a fav. The building is older but jas charm to it. We had issues with bugs in our bed, i brought up woth the desk who didnt really do anything about it.

The beach front was excellent. Live music at night and comfortable seating. Friendly staff for most part. Hard to get a stack of beach towels as they are out almost as soon as they get them in. My not complaint would be the room conditions. Old and dilapidated. Washroom had mold everywhere, the towel rack was broken. Wanted to spend the least amount possible in the room. Other than that, the beach was fantastic. Didn’t use the pool.

This hotel is very run down and old. Everything looked dirty. The towels, linens and furniture all look like they are from when the hotel opened years ago and haven’t been replaced or upgraded. They are stained and ripped, Would not recommend this hotel.

Mold marks in bathroom, stinky/spotted shower curtain makes bad smell for entire bathroom/toilet, fringed old towel (and you must sign paying MX500 if damaging or missing towel when doing check-in), spotted bed sheet, flattened small pillows, sewage float on swimming pool which the pool looks ok but lack of cleaning service. Property interior condition bad even desk used at reception has duck taped repairing, writing pen wrapped by scotch tape…., we hanged a clean up the room tag but the room wasn’t cleaned. You must also sign not bringing drink/food to the beach in front of hotel but the beach is public (reconfirmed by the security guy) lots of people comes from outside even a 15+ people birthday; brought with their own drinks & food; blocked the sunset; they don’t stay at the hotel…

My fiancé and I rented 2 rooms at La Concha, as we had family from La Paz joining us for a 4 day planned vacation trip. The first night we arrived we were starving and it took the restaurant staff 1 hr and 20 minutes to bring us our dinner and it was 1 other couple in the restaurant besides us. I ordered a drink a Paloma and it tasted awful so unfortunately it was my first time ever returning a drink to the bar and opted for a sealed soda water. The bar area was pretty dirty. My fiancé ordered a beer and was never offered a 2nd drink. The worst about our experience there was that we say multiple roaches in the room especially the restroom. One crawled up my fiancés leg as he used the restroom. It was a pretty bad experience and a first. We travel every 3 months around the world and try to read the reviews but I must of skipped reviews or something. WiFi access sucks and I work when I’m away so that wasn’t good either. What was good about the place was that the tacos were pretty decent. We only ate there once before seeing the roaches. We left and ate elsewhere for our meals. I have stayed at other hotels and Airbnb’s in La Paz and all have been pretty decent. We do not recommend La Concha and will not be staying there again.

Location excellent, literally from your room to the beach. You can safely swim and snorkel, see the ocean life, clean and warm water. Room needs an update in furniture and decoration. Food and service at restaurant very good and tasty. Reasonable prices.

Nice place, but the rooms are out dated, beds were super uncomfortable, shower head sprayed everywhere so everything in the bathroom got wet, no extractors in the bathrooms, and the only reason that I booked this hotel was because it’s one of if not the only one that has beach access, but the beach wasn’t that nice.
Nice place, but the rooms are out dated, beds were super uncomfortable, shower head sprayed everywhere so everything in the bathroom got wet, no extractors in the bathrooms, and the only reason that I booked this hotel was because it’s one of if not the only one that has beach access, but the beach wasn’t that nice.

Mal: habitaciones viejas, no hay internet en habitaciones, tele muy pequeña y vieja, servicio de restaurante y bar muy lento, difícil acceso para personas con movilidad limitada. Grounds beautiful with on site beach. Restaurant excellent for breakfast and dinner. Beach palapas readily available. First night room assigned 205 was less than desirable. Poorly maintained bathroom and shower. Room not to standards either. We relayed our dissatisfaction but no available rooms until next day. Staff showed us three rooms for second night and we chose Room 238 at the end of the bldg. Room was updated and had mini fridge and coffee maker. No Wifi access from this room. Although toilet and shower was updated, still had issues with outdated shower head and faucets. If we were assigned this room for both night, would have rated property 4 stars. Restaurant staff was excellent. Would come back again with stay in nicer room. Good value.

I was in an oceanfront 1 bedroom suite with large balcony, I loved the location of this unit, I loved sitting on the deck looking at the beach & ocean. The beach & water is perfect at this resort, we spent a lot of time in the water. The resort & rooms are extremely dated & in need of refurbishing but I knew that going in so it was not an issue to us. For the price we paid & being oceanfront & on the beach it is great value!

Staff was great, all friendly. Location of La Concha is great for a more chill stay, away from Malecón. All rooms appear to have a view of water and or pool or both. The dock restaurant was enjoyable, music on Sat night, and beautiful sunsets. Love that there were couches outside to sit and enjoy the view. The room is basic, no refrigerator for your own beverages, no coffee maker. Air conditioning was noisy all nights but once I figured out how to use the remote it worked very well. The shower leaked and whole room needed some maintenance, like extra lock on door broken, wood trim rotting from leaking shower, sliding door hard to open. Room was always cleaned very well. Also it can be noisy from outside traffic or neighbors, walls seem thin.

I just want to by saying I haven’t done a bad review we have traveled quite often to different places in Mexico and by far this is the worst customer service we have encountered from the check in all the way to check out being our first time in la Paz we ask the gentleman that check us in if he had any information on the Balandra beach we responded like he was annoyed that we ask him then we went to their restaurant first it took for ever for them to even Al knowledge us and there was only to other families there so it wasn’t because it was busy then it took a very long to get our order just for them to bring us the wrong order they didn’t even brought mine order when we told them they just said oh really and give us the check didn’t even apologize I would not recommend this place at all as we saw that the other families were waiting as long if not longer than us very poor customer service I hope the people in charge of this hotel will read this and take into consideration some customer service training for their employees

The Hotel is outdated. Needs a lot of work but is the only hotel with a beachfront. The staff there were horrible! Very rude and spoke very softly, not sure if they are not allowed to smile or to be welcoming to their guests. They are also very picky with the American dollar, when we came back to the reception desk they were waiting for us to return 3 bills that had some writing on it and asked for better bills because they state that the bank will not accept those. There is no iron in the room, you literally have to go to the front desk to borrow an old iron and they have a limit of an hour to use. I hope they read this review and speak to the staff at the front desk. If I come back to La Paz, I would choose to stay at a different hotel.

La limpieza de la habitación no era ideal, y la atención del restaurante así como el tiempo de preparación de los alimentos eran malos, pedí una hamburguesa y tardaron más de 40 minutos en decirme que no tenían pan, pero que podían improvisar, a mi acompañante tampoco le entregaron su platillo a tiempo y se lo entregaron frío, además el mesero de la tarde en más de 2 ocasiones nos ignoró por atender a otros. The staff is more concern about their phones than the guests. They don’t have a good system, out of about 10 interactions, I’ll say one was really cordial and the rest made me feel like I was bugging them just for ask simple things like a towel for the beach.

This hotel and location were perfect for our family holiday vacation! We had a suite with a kitchen, and it worked out perfect for our week in La Paz! The service and staff at La Concha Beach Hotel & Club were friendly and helpful and made our stay fantastic! There is a security gate, so we always felt safe, and the surrounding community was clean and active. This hotel is very homey and relaxed, and the beach front access couldn't be better! We loved it!

The good….. The resort itself is beautiful… safe. You get this big private beach, clear, beautiful water, palm trees, etc. they take really good care of the landscape. The bad…. They have bugs in their room, they’re not bedbugs because I looked them up, but they are in the beds. They look like a little flying gnats. They bit up my ankles. The food is horrible, they are always out of items on the menu. I wasn’t the only guest that has had this problem and this isn’t my first time staying at this resort and it seems to be an ongoing problem. The steak and beef brisket are not fresh. I couldn’t even eat my dinner, and they didn’t comp it. They made me still pay for it. You will wait 30 minutes before your order is taken, you will wait another 45 minutes for your food or another 30 for them to tell you they don’t have it in the kitchen and if you’d like to order something else by then you’re waiting over an hour for dinner. They’re not apologetic, the staff outside does not care. It’s unfortunate because the resort itself looks beautiful.. La Paz doesn’t have a big selection of resorts with private beaches. So I would probably stay here again, I will just continue to Uber out for food. Also, you will wait 12 to 20 minutes for a Uber to pick you up. The resort is about a 10 minute drive to the downtown area.

The location is ideal. Right on the beach, great water to swim in. The food was good, with two good places to eat, over the water for breakfast was a fav. The building is older but jas charm to it. We had issues with bugs in our bed, i brought up woth the desk who didnt really do anything about it.

La Concha Hotel is located in a prime area of La Paz. It's a quick drive to Playa Tesoro, Balandra, or Tecolote which made getting to the beach for the day easy. It's also a quick drive into town if you want to leave the hotel resort for a meal. The bar/restaurant at the hotel were absolutely fine, plenty of servers made the wait times short and mostly everyone spoke English. If you didn't have a car, you'd be absolutely fine with the amenities at the hotel, especially with the Cortez Club and SeaSide Restaurant on the same beach. The negatives about La Concha Hotel are the rooms themselves, they are a bit rundown and outdated for some people's liking. The balconies are tiny unless you have the penthouse suite. I booked a Junior Suite and it was a big room, but the standard size rooms feel small. There is AC in the rooms, but no safe inside the rooms which was a first for me in Mexico. Definitely worth sacrificing some updates of this hotel to have a gorgeous private beach with cabanas to sit at (including chairs and shade) all day and relax. Snorkeling right out front was amazing too. This was my second time to La Paz and first at La Concha - I'd certainly stay again and only in a Junior Suite or bigger/better.

Safe on-site parking was excellent, we were outside of town but still nearby, so it was fairly quiet. Lots of cats. The restaurant was nice in the morning and the landscape architecture was definitely appreciated. Bad news- definitely no WiFi in the room… and we needed it. WiFi was advertised in the lobby, but that didn’t work either. Trouble when you need to download local maps!

The location is perfect! Probably one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Beautiful beach front, restaurant and bar right on the water, fresh air, I can go on and on. All the rooms are facing the water, so everyone has a beautiful beach/ocean room from their window and balcony. That alone was worth it! The negatives are: the room looked like a motel 6 room and does not match how beautiful the exterior is. Shower head is spraying in all different directions. There was no mini fridge or microwave. This was a bit frustrating as we could not bring back any food or keep our drinks cold. We had dinner at the restaurant on the water our first night in and it was horrible. The rice was so wet and soggy. Drinks were not good either. Very disappointing because the live music and atmosphere were great. Had breakfast in the morning and that was pretty good. Staff was super helpful and friendly, parking right in the front and the location was very easy to find. Also word of advice if you happen to come down to the beach to watch the sunset, DO NOT lay on the sand bags in the evening! The sand fleas ate us up and we were itching for days.

Location excellent, literally from your room to the beach. You can safely swim and snorkel, see the ocean life, clean and warm water. Room needs an update in furniture and decoration. Food and service at restaurant very good and tasty. Reasonable prices.

Si deseas comer en el restaurante debes tener mucha calma, es muy lento el servicio de alimentos y no tienen el menú completo, además es bastante caro. Las instalaciones requieren mantenimiento ya están muy deterioradas. El personal es muy atento y muy amable.

The location is perfect! Probably one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Beautiful beach front, restaurant and bar right on the water, fresh air, I can go on and on. All the rooms are facing the water, so everyone has a beautiful beach/ocean room from their window and balcony. That alone was worth it! The negatives are: the room looked like a motel 6 room and does not match how beautiful the exterior is. Shower head is spraying in all different directions. There was no mini fridge or microwave. This was a bit frustrating as we could not bring back any food or keep our drinks cold. We had dinner at the restaurant on the water our first night in and it was horrible. The rice was so wet and soggy. Drinks were not good either. Very disappointing because the live music and atmosphere were great. Had breakfast in the morning and that was pretty good. Staff was super helpful and friendly, parking right in the front and the location was very easy to find. Also word of advice if you happen to come down to the beach to watch the sunset, DO NOT lay on the sand bags in the evening! The sand fleas ate us up and we were itching for days.

Grounds beautiful with on site beach. Restaurant excellent for breakfast and dinner. Beach palapas readily available. First night room assigned 205 was less than desirable. Poorly maintained bathroom and shower. Room not to standards either. We relayed our dissatisfaction but no available rooms until next day. Staff showed us three rooms for second night and we chose Room 238 at the end of the bldg. Room was updated and had mini fridge and coffee maker. No Wifi access from this room. Although toilet and shower was updated, still had issues with outdated shower head and faucets. If we were assigned this room for both night, would have rated property 4 stars. Restaurant staff was excellent. Would come back again with stay in nicer room. Good value.

La limpieza de la habitación no era ideal, y la atención del restaurante así como el tiempo de preparación de los alimentos eran malos, pedí una hamburguesa y tardaron más de 40 minutos en decirme que no tenían pan, pero que podían improvisar, a mi acompañante tampoco le entregaron su platillo a tiempo y se lo entregaron frío, además el mesero de la tarde en más de 2 ocasiones nos ignoró por atender a otros. Sólo el personal de recepción fue completamente amable todo el tiempo.

It was a great facility! It has everything we needed! The beach right in front of the hotel with service! Breakfast available, lunch and dinner, live music on the weekends. A full bar! Pool! Taxis were available at all times! It was just perfect! We had a great experience me and my husband! We will see you again, hotel la concha!

Un hotel muy bonito y agusto, la comida muy rica, los de recepción muy amables y los meseros también solo que el servicio de comida es muuuuuuuy lento, son amables, pero tardan muchísimo en llevarte el menú, luego en tomarte la orden y en llevarte la comida ni se diga. Nos pasó que estuvimos 40 minutos esperando a un mesero y jamás se percataron de que estábamos ahí (estábamos a unos pasos de la barra ).

We paid almost $150 per night and this was more like <$100 a night-type stay. They apparently have a shuttle that rides once a day to the downtown area but no one told us that at check-in. I just happened to ask when we were checking out. They do have a small private beach area that’s nice to have. If you stay here, you may want to get your own shampoo as they give you 1 tiny one-use bottle but not good quality. I always had to ask for 2. Staff is friendly but won’t offer more information unless you specifically ask.

The staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast lunch and dinner and the Seaside restaurant attached to La Concha was superior. The food was gourmet and the service was amazing.

The hotel is outdated and in need of a renovation. The restroom was rusty and the water pressure was horrible. They also had no hot water and I called the front desk. The receptionist send someone and said to keep the water running. Then they called me and said they don’t offer hot water at the hotel, just warm water. He wanted me to check the temperature on the water like I carry a water thermometer while I’m on vacation. Some of the staff were friendly but the receptionist was not the nicest.
