Pool was green. Maids knocked 8am beating on door. To add a guest name to room is $22 for Husband to check in who beat me there. Was hung up on by reception. Will never return.

This property is a bit worn around the edges. It seems clean and is convenient so it works. It’s a fairly utilitarian experience. 1/2 elevators were working so stairs became viable option. Cleaning signs posted throughout property during daylight hours. Can’t they clean at night? Walking from eating area to coffee area triggers the auto front door - annoying. If you are visiting in Moubtsin Brook it is convenient to where you likely want to go. Nice shopping in Mt Brook Village etc.

I rented three rooms for two nights. My children were close by in the other rooms so I liked this. I particularly enjoyed the fitness center and the pool. Breakfast was good and my wife enjoyed having the fruit options available since she is vegan.

Staff was pleasant and helpful, rooms and property facility in general needs to be refreshed - getting run down. There 2 days - elevator was broken at some point on both days. carpets/ceilings/lighting/appliances all have seen better days.

This particular Hampton Inn is rundown and out of date. Maintenance is not being performed. Of the two elevators only one worked and on one occasion none of them worked. We were forced to use the stairs. It is terribly overpriced. It is obvious that the owners of this property are not willing to make an investment in improvement. The receptionist could not locate my reservation, even though I had a printed copy from Expedia. It is not what you would expect when renting a room at the Hampton Inn.

This hotel was sort of a disaster. The elevator did not work. The bathroom smelled horrible. The toilet paper holder was broken. The ladies at the front desk at check in were not very friendly. It felt very dirty.

The property is in such poor condition that the handles have been torn off all the exterior doors. They don’t close, much less lock. I’m a female traveling alone and felt very unsafe. Paint is peeling off the bathtub. The toilet paper holder has been torn off the wall.

The stay was good. The rooms are nice. They have two external doors ok the north side that were never closed. They were always propped open. I know it’s a nice location, but the security was lacking.

We have used this hotel for many years when we come to visit family in the area. The bathroom was not clean. A drip from the faucet in the tub could be heard throughout the night. Not the same quality of stay that we have experienced in the past.

The property as a whole is older and not well maintained. When we checked in the water had been shut off all day and was going to be off for several more hours. Our first room had droplets of blood on the floor by the toilet. The second room was fine, but I won’t be going back. The common areas were dirty, and the place as a whole was dated and not well cared for. I was very disappointed. On a positive note, the lady at the front desk, Charm was kind, apologetic, and helpful.

On checkin- not given WiFi or breakfast info. 1st room: soap dispenser filed with water. Broken toilet. No answer when called front desk. Asked for new room. 2nd room: so dirty. Not vacuumed. Chip crumbs on carpet. I stepped on a broken wooden golf tee. There was a pubic hair sticking to the bathroom door. That’s when we left. Outside, there was broken glass at the entrance.

This hotel needs a complete overhaul. Bathroom was not cleaned well and tile, carpet tubs etc need to be replaced. Very tired.

Checked in and the room they assigned us had not been cleaned. Bed was unmade and a cup on the table. Second room they assigned us was extremely hot as the AC wasn’t working. Carpet was wet from the condensation. Went to the staff and they made me feel stupid by assuming we didn’t know how to work the AC. They never came and checked it. The room was very warm all night. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The hallway was kinda dark and needed updating. The room appear nice and clean beds comfortable. The outlets needed replaced they were wore out could not plug anything up. The usb port for cell phone charging was wore out as well. The water pressure was very low, the toilet was not working properly but they did come on fix it. The room was nice looks needed painting but was ok. The location was near good places to eat and shop for local things close to the local medical doctors. It appears it might about to be remolding.

Everyone was very friendly, but when we arrived the room we booked was not available. We booked a king bed room and all they had was a queen bed room and it was an ADA room. The shower allowed water to go all over the floor, there was no barrier. We had to use all of our towels to get the water up off the floor. There was no counter space in the bathroom for our cosmetic/bathroom stuff. There also was no small fridge in the room. I have never been to a Hampton Inn that does not have a fridge as an amenity. Bed was also not very comfortable.

We had a king bed with pull out couch for our kids. The pull out bed had dirty sheets on it that had some pretty nasty stains on them. The bathroom door didn’t shut all the way and the main door to the room had to be pushed pretty hard to be closed all the way. The hallways were dirty and the elevator was very hot. The water pressure was very good though as was the air conditioning.

The hotel is dated but it was inexpensive. Had to keep the bathroom door shut and the AC running to drown out the tub faucet drip. Apparently it has been dripping for atleast a year from the looks of the tub. Guess they don’t care.

The hotel has renovations going on, which is fine. Check in was an issue. Close to midnight, no one in line, took 20 minutes. Employee, who was extremely nice, had no idea what she was doing. Still didn't when I left. She discovered someone had already made keys and gave them to me. Air conditioner didn't work properly, which made for a difficult sleep. Can't get checked in, can't get decent sleep, hard to be content with the stay.

I was in Mountain Brook for a funeral. I had to deal with a terrible winter storm. Staff was very helpful and made sure I had extra food and water for my drive. They went over and beyond….nice folks.

I was there for business travel and needed my mom to be able to take care of my baby while I worked. We had adjoining rooms which was perfect. While it is an older hotel they are in the midst of renovations - it’s clean and friendly and the location cannot be beat in terms of putting you right into Mountain Brook village. I’m very glad we stayed here and I look forward to seeing what they do with the renovation.

Hotel is outdated and cramped. The lobby/dining area is dark and small and the breakfast is slim— not the usual Hampton Inn fare I’m used too. Out of cereal and they didn’t replenish— it just made a bad impression on me for what I had to pay for this hotel room. Also- the room was clean but tiny tiny bathroom. The location is great- convenient to Homewood, Mtn Brook and the Summit.

This is an older property operated by Hampton Hotels. but its location provides easy access to all of Downtown Birmingham and the multitude of locations south of the city. The rooms and hotel are clean and comfortable and the staff always helpful.

From the friendly, efficient desk clerks to the on-the-ball food service folks, this was a very nice visit for us on Christmas Eve and Day. The breakfast was fabulous -- offering both low carb and a carb lovers' delights. The bed has to be the most comfortable thing ever! Loved it and will definitely stay there again.

Water leaking from somewhere. Poor craftsmanship on renovation. The customer ahead of me checking had their reservation cancelled for some unknown reason. The counter person was a moron in figuring out a solution. The poor elderly couple rented another available room at full price, much more than what they had reserved. While all this was going on I could have booked on Expedia for $104 plus taxes. They paid close to $200. Back to me, the carpet is filthy. I was barefoot in the room, got in the shower and the water turned black. The breakfast is lacking and they ran out of coffee and orange juice at 8 a.m.

I complained a few times that there is a big pile of dirty sheets left outside the front of my room door. Nobody ever came to pick them up. The bed was comfortable. The room seem clean. The building is just old. The elevator smells awful. The breakfast was pretty awful too. If I would’ve paid $89 or $90 for this room, it would’ve been OK. But I paid 150 $160. I should’ve gone elsewhere . However, was a great location! Really close to the summit shopping area with a ton of things to eat and by the botanical gardens. And right off the highway.
