Wished Hotels.com could have explained the destination fees more clearly when I booked this stay. I got to learn that the destination fees were charged DAILY. Obviously there was a price gap between the listed total amount on my booking page and the actual charge I eventually paid (thus, $70 more expensive than what we had expected). I have this screen shot captured and also communicated with a Hotels.com agent this discrepancy and my disappointment. Meanwhile, the hotel was very clean, and when we were checking in, the front desk person was so kind. She upgraded our room, which was a pleasant surprise. Although we had some issues with the heat (the first night we slept cold), they fixed it next day when we raised this concern. We also enjoyed breakfast pretty much – the restaurant area was kept clean and the staff did a great job replenishing beverages and food promptly. If you bring your car, please note that parking in Cambridge is very expensive. (Well, I already knew this as a former Cambridge resident.) The nearest garage to this hotel charges you $55 daily. We reserved a different parking spot at a cheaper rate, but had to walk to and from the garage about 10 minutes. Oh, the hotel has laundry on site, operated by credit card. Very convenient!

The hotel is nicely located within Cambridge. The room space was generous and the furnishings in excellent condition. The complimentary breakfast was above average. The room staff did a good job cleaning the room and the front desk was friendly, helpful and courteous. A highly enjoyable stay in the Boston area. The only downside was no free parking.

We had a great stay — this hotel was perfect for our family vacation. The location was ideal: just a few blocks from the train and out of the bustle and hustle of downtown Boston, but still close enough to get anywhere easily. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The whole stay was ok. The location is great, right next to MIT. 3 problems: 1 The mattress of sofa bed that my son slept on is very uneven and uncomfortable. 2 AC is very loud. 3 Breakfast buffet is horrible with all the heated up frozen food.

Our room was very nice and clean and the parking was easy, but the evening person at the desk was very rude. The bar was closing and we were looking to purchase something to eat in our room from the market next to the front desk. A few other guests were as well. We asked if we could purchase something. A man sat at the desk, looking at his computer, never looking up and just said over and over "No retail after 11. No retail after 11. No retail after 11." It was odd and rude. We aren\'t sure why food stuff would be out with lights on when we could not purchase it. Given there aren\'t really any shops open in the area in the evening, having the ability to purchase some snack seems like it would be a good idea.

The staff was very accommodating. I called to make a room change and it was done (including an unexpected upgrade). Even gave us early check in that I asked for. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was done well with lots of things to choose from. Would definitely stay here again.

I arrived at 2:30am and the hotel did not open the main door or answer my several calls. I was in the middle of the street at 2:30am with no place to stay. I was lucky that I could find another hotel at that time. To be clear, my flight was delayed, so I called the hotel earlier in the evening and let them know that I will arrive after 2am. They checked me in on the phone and said I should stop by at the desk to get the key on my arrival. However, there was nobody to open the main door or answer the phone when I arrived. I rang the bell several times and even knocked on the door. More interestingly, the hotel charged my card for my stay that never happened. When I called them later, they said they will refund it but have not done it yet after 4 days. I don't usually write harsh reviews, but this was a really horrible experience and I will never stay there again, so I thought I should let others know too.

Overall all a very pleasant place to stay. Clean, quiet, and great location that is close to many things. I took two stars off service because early in the morning, while we were in the room, someone (a stranger) was able to swipe a room card and open our door. Definitely a shocker and made us feel unsafe. I spoke with the staff and was told they will look into it...They said it could've been the cleaning person. But what cleaning person would just swipe open a room at 9:15am without first knocking?

Everything was great about the property. Only drawback is location from all the tourist locations in Boston. It is an easy tram ride into town, but not as convenient as staying in town. Nonetheless, the property was extremely comfortable. Room and property were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bonus.
