Had a great experience. Easy, quick check - in. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Loved the pool table and sitting areas. Breakfast is not great - but the staff was very friendly. Loved the water bottle filling station. Would stay again.

There was no coffee or tea when we arrived at 5p and the area for it was very dirty. We left to go eat and returned but still no coffee or tea and the area was still not clean. Our room was clean but the toilet flapper was broken causing the toilet to turn on and run every 15 minutes thus keeping us up all night! Went to get coffee/tea at 5:30 am still none. Wanted breakfast at 6 that didn’t happen until 6:15 and still no coffee. Disappointed at that point…

This hotel seems to be newer which is a plus but we were very disappointed that they did not have enough pillows for each person to have 2 and housekeeping is every other day. We did not know this in advance which would have been helpful information. We came back to the room after a long day of moving our child in to an apartment to find the beds still unmade and dirty towels and the trash cans still full. We would have made the beds before we left and would have gone to get towels if we had this information at check in. We called about extra pillows and they didn’t have any. On a posit note the gym is very well equipped.

i understand that helene caused much disruption but advance notice that the property was under a boil water advisory would have been appreciated additionally, the front desk staff did not have clear information on what was available for dining considering the water issue. the shower stall in the room was had orange soap scum / mildew and the hand soap diaper set was empty. there was also some banging noise throughout the night. it was not up to expectations.

Everything was great except that noises echo so badly. The doors are extremely heavy and would slam shut. Most of the night I was woken up by the doors slamming. When they slam upstairs, it sounds like the roof is caving in. Very loud. That would be the only reason I wouldn’t go back. Everything else was great.

The staff is very nice and friendly! The hotel and room is very clean and modern. The bed and pillows was okay comfortable wise. The only issue would be you can hear everyone around you especially heavy footed people above your room. Overall great clean place to stay.

The bed was very uncomfortable and that’s a deal breaker for me. Also the breakfast ended at 9am and the lady running the breakfast would not refill the pancakes for late comers that arrived at 8:40, including me. She said sorry we close down at 9 but clearly we still had 20 minutes but we were out of luck. That was disappointing.

I’ve never stayed at a Tru before. It’s very “IKEA-ish”. No true closet, no drawers, but good layout. The staff here were outstanding! The pancake machine left much to be desired but the lobby/breakfast area was extremely inviting. The coffee was good and they had flavored creamers. Overall, not a bad experience.

Honestly the place was great, except for the beds. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. We all woke up sore and aching. But it’s clean great place the breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. If only they had more comfortable beds. I would not stay again until the bed situation is improved

It’s a good, basic place to stay and definitely worth the price. The front desk staff were awesome and very sweet to my dog. The only issue I had was the noise. The walls are paper thin and I was constantly woken by noise from other rooms and super loud noise from the hall. The room doors also slam very hard and loud, so whenever someone entered their room it was heard everywhere.

The commode did not work properly and I was not allowed to change rooms. The room rate was 2.5 times the normal rate due to price gauging. When I told the front desk I was unhappy at not switching rooms they said “oh well, we are booked.”

Hannah who checked us in could use a class or two on her attitude. Never even faked a smile. Wasn't helpful with regard at Hilton rewards questions at all. Colleen, Carolyn and Brandon were complete opposites the next morning. Smiles and so friendly and engaging. We were laughing and talking as if we knew them for years!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this property - it was easily accessible from the highway, had a Cracker Barrel in the adjacent property so there were meal options, a gas station across the street which made for a convenient stop before moving on to our next destination. Rooms were CLEAN, comfortable, and the tech was up to date (with streaming options on the tv). Breakfast was very good and had a wide variety of options, and the market in the lobby made for good snacking. Staff was very tentative and pleasant. Highly recommend and would stay again!

This was convenient place for our visit to our student at Virginia Tech with out having g to pay the ridiculous over inflated prices of hotels closer to campus. Was appreciative for a clean, safe hotel for the price we paid. Staff was VERY accomedating - needed extra towels and was able to be supplied. And breakfast was satisfactory for a quick bite.

Overall, our stay was good and a great and cheaper option if visiting VA Tech (10 minute drive to campus). Property is new and so everything was generally clean and in good shape (although the elevator had a very odd smell). I loved the shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. The only thing I would say is that the hot breakfast in the morning is a tad lackluster. Some more options for yogurt, some granola perhaps, and a few healthier options would have made this 5 stars instead of 4. There motto of "functional" rooms is accurate. Small, but clean and nice.

Amongst everything else, the staff at the breakfast area was very rude. There was no muffin even though the bread section mentions that there is a muffin. There was no batter to make pancakes. When asked about muffins, the excuse was we don’t have it. In the fruits section, there were barely 3 old apples.

I stay at this property often. It's fairly clean. The hot water takes awhile to get to the facets and shower. The breakfast has gone down hill. Most of the stuff was lukewarm at best and the coffee was black black. I had to put so much creamer in that it made the coffee lukewarm. I also overheard the staff talking about how they are going to stop having English muffins. But I would stay again it is almost right beside Cracker Barrel.

Pillows were horrible and the breakfast was the worst we've ever had at any hotel. Good wasn't fit to feed my dog. We will probably avoid Hilton entirely because of this from this point on

Absolutely beautiful hotel and hospitable staff. I took a star off for the lack of ample breakfast food. I'm sure the hotel was aware of the number of guests staying at the hotel due to the open house for VT. I noticed there were many parents with their teen (s) as I was there also with my son for the same event. However when we got downstairs to grab breakfast before heading out for a long day of learning about the university, I was disappointed to see there was hardly any food. I managed to get a cup of coffee and an apple. I was hoping to have a hot meal. There was a pancake machine that was extremely slow, and 1 sausage patty that was sitting in steam (that no one touched because it didn't look like appetizing) and a corner of eggs. I saw the staff, but no one was refilling the trays with fresh food. For that reason many guests walked away and left without eating breakfast.
