Hotel Stefanie proved to be an excellent choice for our group of 8 friends visiting Vienna. It was much bigger than expected yet felt really cosy. Every member of staff seem to go above and beyond to help their guests from giving advice on which transport is best for the area you want to visit, restaurant reservations and the bar which served an excellent choice of wines at the end of a long day. The barman had a great sense of humour and coped with our group of 7 women and 1 man admirably - always with a smile on his face. The rooms were perfect and had everything we needed, they were warm, spotless and cosy. The breakfast buffet was the best I'd ever experienced anywhere. We will definitely return again but for longer than 3 days next time.

Our two-night stay was truly rewarding ...with a well-appointed and spacious room ( 389) , a warm and efficient service from all members of the team , at reception , from the porter, at the bar and at the breakfast room which offers a truly great buffet.Hotel is served by tram line nr 2 which brings you to all main touristic spots but you can easily walk too the bar and restaurant area within 10 mins.We'll definitely be back.

The hotel was very nice and well located. Service was good, room was good, shower was good, but the parking should be listed as limited. When we arrived there was no spots available, they only have 10 spaces, i recommend to reserve your spot prior you arrive, otherwise you would have to park to a public parking next to it for 5 euros more expensive than the hotel.

The restaurant required a reservation for dinner the night I arrived after overnight flight. The bar has a small menu and there was a delicious soup. The breakfast was outstanding.

Old hotel with a lot of character. Air conditioning was wonderful in late August. Enjoyed the convenience of having a mini bar in the room with reasonable prices. Breakfast was great. Only a few minutes walk from public transport, various dining options, and ice cream shops. Fun tip...If you do the Hop On/Hop Off bus to tour the city, there are two stops very nearby. That was very convenient, and I used it as my public transportation for two days. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

The bathrooms while elegant looking and clean are fundamentally unsafe for anyone with mobility issues. If you fall, and I did, it is very very difficult to get up. The hotel promotes the fact that it has a restaurant, but it is often unavailable to hotel guests because it is fully booked. I arrived at around 2:30 pm and indicated I had missed lunch. An unfriendly gentleman at reception said the restaurant was closed but would open at six pm. I said fine I would wait until then to eat. I returned at six pm to have dinner and the same gentleman seemingly took great pleasure in telling me the restaurant was fully booked. I asked why hadn’t he told me earlier. He replied because I hadn’t asked. The restaurant was also fully booked the following day; I gave up. Some of the staff were very nice, others not so much. Unless you crave a fin de siècle atmosphere I would skip this place.

Great hotel with welcoming and friendly staff, and a pleasant, cosy location to relax after busy sightseeing and visiting Christmas markets. Restaurant quickly booked up but there are light meals available in the cosy bar. Bedroom spacious if a tad plain, but plenty of teas and coffee sachets for refreshment. Bathroom very good but note the shower is in the bath, not walk-in. Breakfasts excellent in the large restaurant; best to be early as queues soon built up near Xmas. One small point, after vacating the room, a coffee was not available and the bar was closed. Pity. Overall a recommended hotel near to the main attractions.

Stayed here a few days and found the place to not be clean. There was a dead fly on the staircase for days, very dusty room, stained or dirty pillowcase. Some staff were friendly, others not so much.

Historic Hotel of Europe but could be cleaner and have better amenities. Front desk staff is satisfactory but does minimum. Breakfast was included and nice and the breakfast staff was nice and helpful. Would dine here but wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel is in a good position for the centre of Vienna; only a short walk to tram stops, shops and restaurants. Our room was spotless, with a spacious bathroom and lovely hot powerful shower. The reception staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast had lots of choice, hot and cold options, and was good quality. All in all I would not hesitate in recommending Hotel Stefanie to friends and would definitely stay there again if I return to Vienna.

Love this beautiful hotel and the staff. The room we had was HUGE - even by North American standards, and had plenty of room for the 3 of us. Breakfast is included and had a very nice selection (and included sparkling wine). The hotel is close to everything, including the tram (for train station and airport) and they also offer taxi/limousine service. Thank you to the wonderful staff, you helped make our stay an exceptional experience!!

Brunch was good! Showerhead was in the middle of the tub, which was odd and the shower doors only covered half of the shower. Beds and pillows were just ok. They don’t have luggage racks in the entire hotel, only one shelf built into the dresser area so the other person’s luggage had to go on the floor or laid over a little table. We asked and the entire hotel doesn’t have them but said it was a good idea & bring it up to mgmt.

Beds and pillows were horrible…way too soft. I requested a firmer pillow and that made a huge difference in how I slept. Rooms are tired and need some updating, but are quiet and comfortable. Bathrooms is nice.Staff very nice, friendly, helpful. Property was very clean. Nice breakfast in a beautiful dining room. Property super convenient to walk to underground, old town, shopping and restaurants.

Decent hotel to stay at while in Vienna, having a nice charm and historic feeling. I wasn’t a huge fan of the location, as it was a little bit of a walk anytime you wanted to go into the “inter city” of Vienna (where everything is pretty much located). The area around the hotel doesn’t really have any restaurants in the immediate area and you need to take public transport, walk, or a taxi to access them. Additionally, I had an issue with noise while trying to sleep in my room (room 106). The room faced the street and windows offered little insulation from outside noise, so every time a public tram came by, the noise would wake me up. Additionally noise the from hallway wasn’t insulated by the door, so when cleaning staff started in the morning, the noise would also wake you up. Room and hotel were clean overall. Breakfast was very good, my only complaint was that the scrambled eggs could have been cooked longer (very watery and runny), but otherwise very solid options. Staff were mostly friendly and were willing to help you with recommendations upon request. Overall it’s not a bad hotel to stay at, but there are definitely more centralized locations that may offer a better value at the price point. 4/5.

The hotel is beautiful and has a wonderful breakfast, but if your room faces the street it is so loud. There is a tram that frequently comes through and church bells that ring every 15 minutes day and night. The windows are thin, so everything is heard.

Nice location and walkable into centre and access to underground close by. Bus tour stop is also a short distance away. Hotel is very Viennese which is lovely. Our forecourt view wasn’t what we expected, onto a rear lane. If travelling with older person, please check out whether shower is a walk in, or over the bath as not very convenient for 80 year old who found it a bit difficult to access. Tried to change room but unfortunately only one available was also with shower over bath. Best book ahead if you want to dine within hotel as we couldn’t get a table. Breakfast was lovely.

Wonderful, old-fashioned hotel in central-enough location to be able to walk to most of key sights within 20-25 mins. Around 30 mins to Secession, 20 to the Hofburg, 10-15 to St Stephens - so all very close. Fantastic breakfast with great variety of hot and cold food - excellent to set you up for a day's sightseeing. Clean spacious rooms with comfortable beds (good range of pillows to choose from and nice firm mattresses) and including seating / TV area (we stayed in the superior double). Around 30 mins to Secession, 20 to the Hofburg, 10-15 to St Stephens - so all very close. Fantastic breakfast with great variety of hot and cold food - excellent to set you up for a day's sightseeing. Clean spacious rooms with comfortable beds (good range of pillows to choose from and nice firm mattresses) and including seating / TV area (we stayed in the superior double). Hotel Stefanie proved to be an excellent choice for our group of 8 friends visiting Vienna. It was much bigger than expected yet felt really cosy. Every member of staff seem to go above and beyond to help their guests from giving advice on which transport is best for the area you want to visit, restaurant reservations and the bar which served an excellent choice of wines at the end of a long day. The barman had a great sense of humour and coped with our group of 7 women and 1 man admirably - always with a smile on his face. The rooms were perfect and had everything we needed, they were warm, spotless and cosy. The breakfast buffet was the best I'd ever experienced anywhere. We will definitely return again but for longer than 3 days next time.

One of the morning shift employees in reception was rude and making fun of guests in German language when they don’t speak German. The bellman (who is helping guests with luggages) is super nice. The restaurant charged us for water and when we asked for one more piece of certain kind of bread with dinner. Breakfast buffet could make the eggs in a better way and offer some deserts.

Hotel Stephanie was a great choice for me. It was very conveniently located, the staff was friendly and efficient, and I love a hotel with some history under its belt, and this hotel is about as old as they come. The breakfast buffet served each morning was as good as it gets. I was fueled up and ready to go for the entire day of touring each day of my trip. Excellent!

The head concierge did so much for us! He made a dinner reservation for us when we got into the city late to ensure we had a meal that night. But mainly, he was happy to be our daily travel agent ... amazing guy. Another concierge ordered concert tickets for us because the venue's website was glitching. Lastly, the breakfast buffet is wonderful!

They could not have been more accommodating. Not only did they let us keep our luggage until we were due to leave, they gave us a comp room for the day to shower and change! The breakfast was insane! Incredible service, variety and quality! This may be the best hotel experience I have ever had in Europe and I have been there over ten times.

Decent hotel to stay at while in Vienna, having a nice charm and historic feeling. I wasn’t a huge fan of the location, as it was a little bit of a walk anytime you wanted to go into the “inter city” of Vienna (where everything is pretty much located). The area around the hotel doesn’t really have any restaurants in the immediate area and you need to take public transport, walk, or a taxi to access them. Additionally, I had an issue with noise while trying to sleep in my room (room 106). The room faced the street and windows offered little insulation from outside noise, so every time a public tram came by, the noise would wake me up. Additionally noise the from hallway wasn’t insulated by the door, so when cleaning staff started in the morning, the noise would also wake you up. Room and hotel were clean overall. Breakfast was very good, my only complaint was that the scrambled eggs could have been cooked longer (very watery and runny), but otherwise very solid options. Staff were mostly friendly and were willing to help you with recommendations upon request. Overall it’s not a bad hotel to stay at, but there are definitely more centralized locations that may offer a better value at the price point. 4/5.

Breakfast was the worst I've had in Austria, nothing was well prepared. Brown fruit, dry breads, powdered eggs. Room was stuffy and hot even with air conditioning and this was mid October so I can't imagine how bad it would be in the summer. The bed was awful, there was some sort of topper on the mattress that didn't really fit and kept falling off, it was lumpy and really uncomfortable. Also, the soap in the bathrooms was grotesque, it made me feel sick to smell it.

I had informed the hotel in advance that I have celiac disease its not a lifestyle option but a necessity to have a GF diet. The Celiac options were poor (so only ate breakfast), GF roll was soggy no other option provided (staff didn't seem to understand how to even prepare the rolls adequately) Luckily I brought my own toaster bags & tried to rescue the soggy offerings. No GF biscuit or pastry, for a 4* of this calibre I would have expected a little more effort. I have stayed in many hotels before some provide a small separate area, toaster (bring your own bread etc.) avoid cross contamination gives the celiac confidence. Buffet was ok, day 1 small fruit salad available, after that only canned peaches, (fruit available if you wanted to prepare your own fruit salad), not ideal. Not easy to have an afternoon coffee, snack or drink on the terrace which would be welcome for weary travellers. Toiletry selection poor for a 4* only bodywash and shampoo combined in the shower, for us ladies I would expect shampoo and conditioner at prices paid. Toiletries not replenished when used, perhaps catering more for the business traveller? Towels are a bit tired looking Overall we had a nice stay loved the city of Vienna, hotel was purposeful

It was OK. Bedding was kind of uncomfortable and used the weird Viennese style of bedding with the duvet folded over itself for some reason. i don't think I'll ever grow accustomed to it. But the restaurant was good.. the bar made some good cocktails, the staff were unfailingly welcoming and friendly, I can't really complain about it overall. It's very rustic and has a faded charm you might appealing, or if not if you want something more modern. *shrug* it was a hotel! Breakfast offerings were always very repetitive and limited. I had scrambled eggs I don't know how many times. I wish they had porridge and offered a wider set of options in cereal, for instance. The Josefhoptstadter in the 8th district had much better albeit non-complimentary breakfast when i stayed with them about a year ago. Smoked salmon would've been to die for but no dice. Coffee came from digitized bean-to-cup machines which I have weird nerdy qualms about as a coffee aficionado; I can pull my own *coffee*, sir.

The hotel is in a good position for the centre of Vienna; only a short walk to tram stops, shops and restaurants. Our room was spotless, with a spacious bathroom and lovely hot powerful shower. The reception staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast had lots of choice, hot and cold options, and was good quality. All in all I would not hesitate in recommending Hotel Stefanie to friends and would definitely stay there again if I return to Vienna.

This is a high-quality hotel, the oldest in Vienna. We were there for my birthday and I was thrilled to receive a lovely gift of champagne and sachertorte from the hotel, totally unexpected. The breakfast is excellent but sometimes there is a bit of a wait to enter the breakfast room when it is full.

The staff are very friendly and always ready to help. Food in the restaurant was really nice and well worth a visit. The hotel is centrally located and handy for the old town and also the cafe bars along the river banks

The Hotel has a very dated feel. Everything is well maintained but the wear and tear is evident. The parking garage they advertise was a nightmare. Their garage is not close by in the first place but when you factor in all the one way streets you need to drive through, it easily becomes a 5 minute plus drive. When their garage is full they send you to another garage which is a maze itself. I would not recommend this for anyone with a car.

An absolutely excellent traditional, non-chain hotel. I had booked a "Classic Single" and my expectations were not high. They were completely exceeded. The room was small with a single bed, but it had everything I needed and the bathroom was large and even had a full bathtub. The a/c worked beautifully. The wifi was strong. The room was perfectly laid out. The breakfast was fabulous, with a large dining room spreading into a courtyard. I had no complaints at all. Great value for money in pricey Vienna.
