The Originals City Hotel Paix Republique

Good location. Good price. And room for three people which was key and hard to find.

We found the hotel to be clean, the room was a nice size for Paris. The staff were not overly friendly but not rude either. The bathroom was small but had a bathtub/shower which my wife loved so she could soak in the tub. The bed was firm and there was some metro noise but not so bad as to make sleep unmanageable. Very close to Metro station and easy to get around, lively neighborhood, with access to good restaurants and other shops and food.

The staff were very efficient and friendly during check-in. The hotel itself was in a good location, right above the metro "Republique" but was old and not all rooms seemed to have had the refurbishment that was shown in the photos advertising the rooms. It was not sound-proof as we could hear the running of water in the pipes, the rumbling of the underground trains despite windows closed and could hear the shower of the adjacent room too. The bed was comfortable and cosy. The bathroom shower was very small but good shower head pressure. Overall, an OK experience, not such great value for money. Staff compensated us for lack of towels on arrival to the room by giving 5 towels for the 2 of us!
