Best Western Ellerslie International Hotel

The rooms were clean and nice beds, linen and towels. Good shower pressure. Nice to have air con/heat pump. The kids enjoyed the pool. Great to have the option of dining there as well, although it is only 2 minutes drive to shops and restaurants. The only negative was the level of noise at night. We were staying opposite the reception area, and the noise from constant loud cars and police sirens, and then a group of intoxicated people outside our room from midnight for about half an hour, made it very difficult to sleep.

Super convenient as only a 15-20 drive to Auckland city and a 5-10 min walk to Ellerslie cafes etc. plenty of parking and great that there is no additional charge.

Great value for a convenient, clean accommodation and courteous staff. A shame the restaurant was closed on weekends.

Clean, quiet, good parking

Paid for premium room with spa pool. Spa did not work. All amenities advertised with room for example mini bar not available. No room service menu so unsure if actually available. Photos were not up to date... All advertised photos show beautiful pool area with advertised geated pool... pool had not been cleaned tiles lifted and pool area looked uninviting to guests did not appear usable. Used gym... some gear out of order, dirty towels left from previous users on same shelves as clean towels. Gym has security cameras but this is not noted and cameras not easily visible. When reported first thing in morning spa wasnt working had to wait for manager to be onsite. At 10am checkout manager could not offer any type of refund (i would have expected to pay the price of a room without spa), they offered an extra night but being sunday and with work monday this was not viable. Then was offered late checkout.. we had already left room and cleaners had started there clea mn again not viable. So was offered 20% off next stay or a coke or lemonade. I dont plan to stay here again

Very tidy, easy parking

Was not aware it was going through a remodel with scaffolding all around the perimeter. Parking is awful. Definitely not sound proof! Doors are sliders. Staff very courteous. Check in was seamless. First Best Western where I had to pay for a continental breakfast so opted out and walked to nearby restaurants.

Great hotel. Plenty of parking and room was nice. Exactly as advertised.

The room had an awful ‘sweaty’ smell every time we walked in after being out.

This property was handy to the shops, train and motorway. Our room had all we needed and was quiet and clean. I had an issue with the TV but the office team sorted it out quickly. I would stay there again.

The staff was nice but the room was in need of repair sink cracked bathroom permanently stained everything very old including towels. Best western should not put their name on this hotel

There was no hand-soap plus dirty shower and mirror. Disgusting

We were having trouble getting the TV started but the staff were straight onto the problem. Cleanliness was very good and bed very comfortable.

Broken cabinets, foul smell, lights in the toilet not working, light in the main bedroom playing up we stayed at room 55

Convenient Hotel to Ellerslie. The hotel needs major updating. There was some mold in the bathroom. The lack of bathroom privacy from the bedroom was weird. When we checked out, there was no one at the front desk. We left our key.

Was a really good over all experience, 2nd time staying here but this time we booked the grand apartment instead of just one room! Was really spacious and very appealing to look at! Also a great price! One down side was between the hours of 12-6 am there was a very loud almost old air conditioning sound that would stop and start every hour not sure what it was but made it slightly hard to sleep. Thought it could’ve been the laundry situated below us going off maybe? Not sure but was a good experience overall!

Great staff. Close to the event and lots of free parking which is rare in Auckland. Beds were not very comfortable. Beds need an upgrade.

Spacious comfortable room. Received a lovely welcome and assisted into my room.

Although was a refurbished unit, street noise and next units noise was too much. Bed was lacking support. Way too soft for king bed, edges just folded away when sit on the edge. Light at unit door not working, same for a few other units. Trying to open door in the dark lol.

Very tired inside, time for a refurbishment. Was clean though.

Checkin was quick and efficient. This place has not been updated in years. It felt like I was waking up in 1989. Bed was sagging, soft and just plain worn out. Shower was very difficult to turn on without it spraying all over the room.

The room was great and very clean. It was super quiet too. Unfortunately the mattress was absolutely horrible. Worst bed I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. Not sure how this property gets a four star rating.

Awesome service from the moment we arrived. Everything was great, clean, tidy and the staff were very helpful. We would stay here again and recommend it.

Terrible. My booking for check in on the 13 and check out on the 16. When I arrived on the evening of the 15 a couple of people were having sex in my room. I went to the reception found no one there. Pressed the button for the duty manager and was no answer. This was very horrible

Close to where we needed to be over the weekend. Staff were great. Could do some minor fixes to the unit, but would not stop us booking there again.

Property is in good shape, much nicer than previous reviews indicate. Good size rooms, full kitchen in one corner, space for luggage and small closet. Very quiet, in 5 days only heard other guests once! Restaurant on site for breakfast, ends too early at 9, and dinner. Delicious food but expensive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to cafes in Ellerslie. Self serve guest laundry is not available, contrary to website… Outside parking free, at your door!

I had a pleasant enough room, but, I had to ask for an adapter for the bed side lights as they were fitted with american plugs. A couple of the lights in the room and bathroom were not working, and the wardrobe door was broken. No breakfast on Saturdays and public holidays was not good!

Family suite for the night. Upstairs bedroom had a tv but no power cord. Also no breakfast on offer. Very comfortable beds and huge value for price. Will be staying again.

The staff were helpful friendly and giving, the room was clean and tidy, but rundown in some areas. The dishwasher was visibly broken, the upstairs tv was hard to use and the upstairs air conditioner didn’t seem to work on any setting. Not sure if they just required some instructions. The breakfast was great though and catered for our allergies, something we did not expect. Would have been great at a lower price point.
