The property itself was good, however was under the impression that there was a bar, there wasn’t one and the vending machines didn’t work, also the breakfast was so expensive for what you got £25 each for breakfast on top of the room rate. Other than that the room was comfy

The hotel itself is a bit worn down and shabby. The elevator comes with special instructions for getting off before the doors close on you. The property is clean and the staff is excellent.

The area around the hotel looks a little scary if you go one direction but if you go the other direction it's less scary. The staff did tell us not to walk around at night. The hotel is in the midst of a renovation/refresh so areas were covered in plastic and you could hear people sanding and painting. So it was a little messy with patchy walls but it will look better soon. The room was small but clean, the street is noisy with sirens but they leave ear plugs on the night stand for you. The staff was great. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety.

I enjoyed this property quite a lot love the little balcony was nice that it had an elevator and air-conditioning would stay here again, even though the staff could be more friendly, and the facilities did not have proper functioning vending machines several times we tried to get water from the bending machine only to find that it charged us and the staff had no way to refund our change or credit card. We did not use the restaurant so cannot comment on that. Showered in cold water until we figured out that they had to let the hot run for quite a long time before the hot came in no surprise though it is an older building and we were on the third floor. Lots to see in the area mostly quiet except for road noise, but even that didn’t bother us too badly only the occasional siren thank you for the stay hope one day to visit again.

the staff was wonderful. the location absolutely excellent. easy walk to gare nord with so many really good restaurants. This hotel did what we needed it to, give us a place to rest up before leaving from Gare Nord.. We were put on the 6th floor, the elevator only goes to the 5th floor so we had to carry our luggage up a spiral filght of stairs. The elevator is very small so we had to wait a long time to be able to get on it both days. Being on the top floor the ceiling slanted so my husband could only walk on one side of the room. very small room. The tub is in the room and the stopper was broken. The shower room leaked on the floor and soaked everything. Very noisy street at night. We had to keep the window open because it was so hot and there is no air or fan. We were there two nights. Not a horrible experience but for the price we had hoped to at least not have to sclepp our bags. But, can't complain about the location at all….and again, the staff was very nice.

The room was nice and clean but the lobby and the elevator were terrible. The common areas were dirty with paint falling off walls and the elevator door was dirty with scratches everywhere and only 2 people at a time, which was very inconvenient. Breakfast was average with an average dining area and 0 staff. A plus is that is walking distance to Garde du nord.

Someone must be propping up reviews and ratings for this hotel. The room was dirty and smelled of pee. The bathroom smelled of mildew and the door could not be closed while on the toilet. The only bright spot was warm water in the shower.

Tatty hotel. No hot water when arrived and also later had to ask a second time to have it repaired. Carpets are filthy. Bathroom with mould. Staff very nice but the place is basic NOT A 3 STAR HOTEL I will not be staying there again for that price

A tiny room that matched the price I paid, but the room REEKED of cigarette smoke. The room, the sheets, and the towels. Everything I took in that room had to be washed when I got home. How the housekeeping team did not notice this, and the room wasn’t deep-cleaned before it was rented again, I’ll never know.

Personeel vriendelijk, dicht bij eurostar/trein/metro, bagage opslag erg makkelijk, ook bij vertrek. Huurfietsen en bus voor de deur. Wij verbleven er 3 nachten maar onze kamer werd helaas niet schoongemaakt, zelf om nieuwe handdoeken bij receptie gegaan. Kamers zijn wat verouderd maar goed te doen voor die prijs.

The location of the hotel was good, only ten minutes walk to metro station. The hotel was clean except the small insects on the curtain, there were a lot. Staff was polite and caring. Since hotel is near the train station, the sound of the traffic and the cars little bit too much but didnt effect me sleeping.

Friendly and helpful reception staff, having a clean room with a safe and it's closeness to transport links (5 minute walk to train or metro) were the positives. Stair areas and halls were filthy. Walls are paper thin and the noise level of people shutting doors and talking was high. There were ear plugs provided however not everyone can or should wear these. Niet lawaai van buiten, maar van de gang en andere kamers (zowel naast als boven de kamer) was verschrikkelijk. Ik ben waarschijnlijk wel 20 keer wakker geworden van lawaai van andere gasten. Ook een heel vieze gang.

It was well positioned near Gare Du Nord. There were nice brasseries to eat not far away. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were good. Communal areas - corridors and lift, could have been cleaner but there was painting and decorating going on while I was there so that was understandable. The room itself was very clean and smart

The room appeared much more modern and refreshed in the online photos than it did in reality. Unfortunately, there was very little natural light, and the décor felt quite dated. The room would benefit from a fresh coat of paint and updated carpets to bring it more in line with the advertised images. There were also no mirrors in the bedroom itself, which made getting ready (such as straightening hair) a little inconvenient. That said, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. If you’re not particularly concerned about modern décor and are simply looking for somewhere close to Gare du Nord station, it does the job as location is very convenient for this.

We had a good 1-night stay and the room was just as pictured online. The room faced the back of the hotel so no view but also no street noise. The room & bathroom were clean, though showed wear and tear. Staff were friendly and showed us how to use the small unique elevator. I don’t think we would like this hotel for many nights. But it is very close to Gare du Nord and not too far to walk to Montmarte and Sacre Coeur. There are lots of shops and restaurants around.

Hotel was very handy to the Gare du Nord station. Family room was a good size, 4 beds and plenty of space. Bathroom very small,but clean and had everything we needed. We never had breakfast so unable to comment.

This hotel is located really close to Gare du Nord so really convenient for an early train out. But if that wasn’t a priority would choose elsewhere. We had a quadruple room which was one of a small number that faced the back of the hotel so was relatively quiet. I imagine most other rooms were very noisy onto the main road. Even as a quadruple room it was small and bathroom was tiny. Guests were noisy in the corridor throughout the night. But bed was comfy!

Made special request since July . When checking in the staff laughed off as the request was made so long ago. No hot water for 3 days from day one checking in, but the manager made an excuse and indicated we were lying as there was only no hot water the day before. We had to argue to check out the hotel as no offer to upgrade to the other half of the building which there was hot water. Guests had no hot water were offered free breakfast. So bad luck to us as we had breakfast included. No refund on that either. Front desk staff could not do anything but kept saying needing to wait for the manager. As moving out no refund on the prepaid city tax as claimed it’s already in part of the room price refund ( 15% less as the booking platform OTA ). Avoid this hotel.

We asked for reception to book us a taxi from the hotel to Gare Paris St Lazare and were quoted 45 euro, I thought it was a lot but went with it. When we returned from Normandy we caught a taxi at the station back to the hotel and it was only 11.70 euro. I will leave you to make your own mind up about a rip off!!! Other than that they were very friendly and helpful and the bed was very comfortable.

I thought the value was good for my single room. I found the staff to be really helpful whenever we needed anything. I stayed in December and the heat would sometimes turn up to 24 even though I tied to keep it on 15 and needed to open the windows to keep the room cool. I needed to shut them while I slept due to noise and the air would get a bit stale. I also stayed on the first floor and could hear the music starting at 6am downstairs. I wish I didn't opt for the breakfast because it was really just breads and some meats and some morning they had beans or eggs but it wasn't consistent.

Only 2 minutes away from Gard du Nord, staff very friendly, Hotel is on Magenta boulevard which is a major thoroughfare with loud traffic noise 24/7. The hotel Avalon could do with a revamp to make it more appealing and only has a tiny lift for 3-4 person. Rooms are small with a little balcony.

Personeel vriendelijk, dicht bij eurostar/trein/metro, bagage opslag erg makkelijk, ook bij vertrek. Huurfietsen en bus voor de deur. Wij verbleven er 3 nachten maar onze kamer werd helaas niet schoongemaakt, zelf om nieuwe handdoeken bij receptie gegaan. Kamers zijn wat verouderd maar goed te doen voor die prijs.

Easy to get to from Gare Du Nord. Fast access to trains and all attractions. Area isn't the greatest at night, but could just feel that way as nothing actually happened while there and no bad street experiences. Recommend for its value and proximity

Brilliant location - pretty much opposite Gare du Nord. Room was small but clean. Walls are paper thin though, so not ideal if you're a light sleeper.

Area shops and bakeries close early and area becomes less lively with some street people about at night. Very close to train station and direct by train from CDG, making it quite convenient from a transportation POV. Hotel rooms are well-appointed and well-kept. Lovely floor-to-ceiling windows and some rooms with small balconies. Staff is very helpful.

Room was ok size for family. Location great near train station. Bed comfy. Bathroom tiny. Breakfast; skip that. Were told avail till 11am, arrived about 9:45 and told no more scrambled eggs. Plenty of cafe up the road towards Montemarte. Good luggage storage service.

A nice sized family room for Paris. Breakfast was poor with very little food available, we had to ask for cups and bowls etc. no pastries, no fruit left. Very disappointing. Close to metro so easy to get around but breakfast let it down.

Hotel was nice (basically down the block from Gare du Nord), room was cozy, bathroom was clean, the breakfast was good as well. Only issue is, I paid extra up front when booking via Expedia for the breakfast option, which increased my price for 1 night from $144 to $151 I believe, and I was informed I had to pay a city tax of 5.53 euros upon check in, which is fine. But when I arrived I was told I had to pay for the breakfast option as well, meaning I got charged like 12 euros instead. Not sure for the reason of the double charge, but that's something I'm not happy with.

The Balcony was lovely, the room needed updating and the Hall. the staff were lovely and friendly, the location was perfect for the station and sights. Breakfast was ok, they ran out of bread the delivery hadn't turned up? although there was a shop next door!.. not much milk, ran out of cheese. But convenient location. The Shower was good but had to wait for ages for warm water. But the staff were very pleasant and we thank then for their help. Especially your member, Amahadu that signed us in and looked after us that very first night - thank you to him. best wishes

The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was clean. The hotel could be updated with usb plugs in the room and some small maintenance in the hotel. The breakfast was lacking and not worth the extra money. It was not kept filled with food and you had to wait for many items to be refilled. There was a boil your own egg section, however the water wasn’t hot enough or full enough to actually cook the eggs properly even well after the time required.
