We really enjoyed our stay at Big Sky in Chamonix. The location is breathtaking—right next to Mont Blanc. I highly recommend booking a mountain view room like we did; the view was absolutely worth it. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, and we especially appreciated the extra touches like the pool table and arcade games, which added a fun, relaxed vibe. There’s also a pool and spa on-site, though we didn’t have a chance to use them. The restaurant was decent, though lacked options for kids, so if you’re traveling with children, that’s something to keep in mind. The surrounding area doesn’t have many shops or restaurants, so you’ll need a car to get into the town centre. The nearby village, however, is charming and worth exploring. A big plus for us was that the hotel is pet-friendly. They gave our dog a warm welcome and even set up a personalized sleeping area—such a thoughtful gesture! One odd detail: we were told in advance that we needed to reserve underground parking to access EV chargers, but that turned out not to be true. There are chargers available in the free outdoor lot. Unfortunately this lot was a bit chaotic—spaces were limited and cars were parked in handicap spots, bus spaces, and EV charging spots without much oversight. Overall, a great stay with incredible views and friendly touches—just be aware of the parking situation and bring a car if you want to explore.

The property is located in the most stunning area, within the foothills of Mont Blanc. You will not be disappointed with the view from the hotel, or the pool. We paid slightly more for a mountain view room which was impeccable. Hotel boasts complementary kids room with toys, foosball table, pool table, arcade games, a gym, the pool, sauna & jacuzzi. We decided to add breakfast both mornings which was really well stocked & free for our 3 year old & baby, it was €18 for adults. There's a shuttle from the hotel into Chamonix which we didn't use as we had our car, it's around a 5km drive and parking is fairly cheap on an evening. We didn't eat at the hotel on an evening as we arrived late one day, and there was only a BBQ option for the other night which we thought was pricey at €42 for adults, especially as I am vegetarian & there was no al la carte option. If we had to be really picky, we struggled to park a couple of times, but we were allowed to park in the bus parking instead.

Great location and family oriented hotel on the outskirts of Chamonix. Really good breakfast and dinner club within the hotel. Only the pool area was a little too busy to be enjoyed as it was too noisy to give a proper spa experience. Otherwise a great overall hotel with a unique family and 80s vibe

Very good location , spacious room. Only down side is the toilet, it was small and separated ( in another room) from the shower and basin. I did not like the pillows. But I guess this is personal preference. The room is very clean. And the lady who cleans the room daily tidy it very well. The receptionists are very cooperative and friendly. The staff are absolutely excellent here, incredibly friendly. Location is good. 10 minutes walk to the main bus lines, but also a bus stop outside hotel that doesn’t run quite as often. Pool was nice and clean. Food in the hotel was excellent we ate twice in the restaurant. Really relaxed chilled vibe so you can fully relax in your comfy clothes in reception. WiFi good too!! Only real complaint was it is a little noisy in your facing the motorway side, but after a long day skiing we was that tired it didn’t effect us but did wake us up in the mornings.

We loved this place. Although it was not in downtown area, it was 5 minutes away. The Mountain views from our window were amazing! The room was very big, comfortable, and well decorated. Bel hôtel thématique rétro avec espace de jeu, terrasse extérieur et piscine avec jacuzzi agréable. Transport vers le centre-ville directement dans le stationnement mais peu fréquent. Navette offerte de midi et demi à 20h par l’hôtel mais doit être réservée à la réception ou par téléphone seulement. WhatsApp serait apprécié des voyageurs hors pays. Pas de navette le dimanche et lundi. Le samedi, le resto de l’hôtel était fermé et remplacé par un BBQ un peu dispendieux à notre goût. Somme tout agréable séjour avec le personnel très courtois.

Our stay was very good, and we’d come again. Staff all very helpful. Food is good. Slightly more choice and pizza available every night would suit us better, but we still enjoyed what we ate. The rooms and general aesthetic of the hotel have a nice retro vibe. It’s quirky, fun and interesting. Big open dining, lounge, bar, reception and games area is cozy and laid-back. Enjoyed free pool table and arcade machines especially. Pool and sauna handy too. Some buses at useful times go to and from the hotel itself, otherwise 10 minute walk. Bus usually takes around 25 minutes to get into Chamonix, but it’s a nice journey. Not too much in immediate vicinity (shops, restaurants etc) but it’s quiet, relaxing and the buses made getting about easy.

Very impressed with this hotel - nicely furnished and very comfortable. Staff were excellent, polite and helpful. Facilities in the hotel were really good. Looks to have been fairly recently built or refurbished. Slightly less good things were the food menu and the transport links. Food was really good quality, but menu can only be described as a bit strange. The chefs creations menu was an unusual range of dishes, none really appealed. I’m sure they may to some, but not me. The ‘normal’ menu was ok, but lacked some vegetables and salad based dishes - very carb heavy. Transport links were ok, but beware that the bus serving the hotel only stops 6 times a day so you have to plan around them. There is an alternative stop about 1/2 mile away, but too far with skis and boots. But overall a great stay and I would return.
