Reem at the front desk was absolutely wonderful! She was kind, attentive and efficient and just a joy to speak with. Hotel was nice and in a great location. They offered 2 hour bikes which was a nice touch since you're by the water. They also offered a social hour (beer, wine & snacks) every evening from 4-5p however there was no beer at the social hour for any of the days we were there. The room was on the smaller side but comfortable. Unfortunately the air conditioning in our room didn't work well and was not addressed even though we asked about it.

Quick check in on the night of arrival. The bar service was excellent with a good amount of beer on tap. Good appetizers. Norma was our house cleaning member and did a great job. The room was made up well and clean. She emphasized on customer service. There is a small cafe at the hotel that sold breakfast sandwiches and a good cup of coffee. Great morning just sitting and catching up with friends. The work out facility was clean and large enough to have multiple cardio machines, several weight training machines, and a full rack or dumbbells. The facility was constantly being checked and cleaned by staff. The swimming pool was small in size out perfect just to soak and cool off. Plenty of sunbathing chairs in the pool area.

We started off requesting the hotel shuttle when we landed, but we waited 50 minutes and frustrated, ending up taking a local bus at the airport which got us to the hotel in 10 minutes. Do not use the shuttle service. The room was very clean and spacious, check in was smooth and the lady was very kind. In the morning at check out, we waited about 10 minutes with nobody at the reception and no bell or anything to call someone. We were able to check out, but had to run to the next stop with our luggage to catch the bus we planned to take which only came every 30 minutes. Overall, good room and experience other than the shuttle and slight delays in desk service.

The first hotel I’ve ever stayed at that didn’t offer some sort of complimentary breakfast. They only have a grab&go and a $25 breakfast buffet that had meager offerings. 4 elevators with 1+ minute wait every time. One of the “included amenities” is “pet friendly” but they actually require $100 pet fee so it’s not an included amenity at all and they don’t have a dog run, bags, or ANY nearby grass areas at all. The surrounding block is pretty empty, with the nearest breakfast place 3 blocks away. The coffee place across the street appeared to be permanently closed, and every other spot on the same block was closed on weekends, except 7-11. The staff was very friendly but I would not stay here again for the aforementioned reasons.

We stayed for 5 nights and it was really great. Tara at the front desk was very kind and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. The pool, gym, and lounge area were solid as well.

Lovely hotel and great location, there is a destination fee but they offer free airport pick up and drop off which pays for itself. Staff were friendly ! Gym is small but has every thing you need plus a peloton bike they also have an outdoor gym area , plus pool and hot tub ! Bikes for rent in the lobby took them out great for hitting the sea wall and cruising . Overall happy and would stay here again .

My daughter and I had a blast. Great food, great service. The rooftop pool and hot top was a treat. We even lived riding the elevators. Great views of downtown and the bay!

Not to the normal standards of other Westins I have visited. The sinks and showers showed stains and grime. We were initially only given 1 towel in the room (2 occupants) the AC was not working and we had to be moved to a different room, but only after we complained several times that it was too hot to sleep comfortably. Not worth the price per night for all the hassle. My sister and her husband were also staying at this particular hotel and they also had complaints about only having a single towel and the uncleanliness of the bathroom.

Staff were kind and helpful, and the bar/food was good, but the hotel itself was very disappointing. Our first room was dirty, the second needed maintenance, housekeeping was minimal, and common areas often smelled and looked unclean. The property is advertised as a resort, but it lacks resort amenities, and daily destination fees added no value — I would not stay here again.

I will say that I expected more for the price that I paid for a deluxe room with double beds. First, they were actual full sized beds, not queens like typical double bed rooms are, but perhaps that is my oversight. Second, the mattresses are incredibly old. While performing my bedbug inspections upon check in (always check your rooms!) I noticed the tag on the end of the bed said 2007. There’s no reason a hotel should have 18 year old mattresses. Sleeping on them felt like they were 18 years old as well. Furthermore, the air conditioning was peculiar. It only went down to 65 degrees, however the room never got down to 65 degrees, the room was very humid, to the points that the sheets felt damp. The vent grates were dusty and it looked like there were pubic hair dust bunnies everywhere. The blow dryer was old as well, and barely worked. For some reason we were given an ADA room, which isn’t a big deal but the shower leaked all over the bathroom due to there not being a lip on the edge of the shower, which created a slippery and dangerous situation. Honestly, I’ve had better stays at a Motel 6. Not what I expected from this hotel. Valet parking is 60$ a day, btw. Not impressed.

The Westin Bayview is located a couple of blocks from the Santa Fe Amtrak Depot. This is a wonderful hotel from which to navigate to various great parts of the city, such as the Seaport Village, Balboa Park, and the Gaslamp District. The Westin is beautiful, clean, and has comfy beds. The staff is warm and welcoming. Well done Westin Bayview.

Updated room had environmental restrictions on AC and water pressure in the bathroom. AC in room could only be turned down to 65. It would turn off if no one was occupying the room. This made it so that the room was hot when we returned from our outings. The light in the bathroom turned on automatically. This made it inconvenient to use the restroom in the night, as the light came on when entering the room. The doors are VERY heavy and surrounding "neighbors" were very loud because they let the doors slam behind them instead of closing the door lightly. There was also no fan in the bathroom. Give glass cups for coffee, please. Paper cups are a down grade for the price of the room. The lock on our door malfunctioned 2 days in a row due to a battery in the lock. The first day, the battery was replaced. The 2nd day the battery had to be reseated because it wasn't installed correctly the first day. Very inconvenient to have to call for Security to fix the lock when returning to our room. No microwave, but we were able to request one from house keeping. Social Hour was a nice treat, but very limited for food and drinks. We only attended one of the 9 days we were there. Not impressed the first time. We did not return. Otherwise, beautiful view, nice and comfortable bedding and robes. Bartenders in the bar area were cool and helpful. Lots of stuff to do and walk to in the area.

The Westin Bayview is located a couple of blocks from the Santa Fe Amtrak Depot. This is a wonderful hotel from which to navigate to various great parts of the city, such as the Seaport Village, Balboa Park, and the Gaslamp District. We booked a higher-floor bay-view room for New Year’s Eve, planning to enjoy the fireworks and welcome the New Year with a beautiful view. At check-in, we were told the room had plumbing issues and were downgraded to a lower-floor room facing an adjacent building. The concierge promised to waive the hotel and tourism fees to make up for it. At checkout, we were told that promise couldn’t be honored because the concierge wasn’t there and no one else had the authority to remove the fees. Not only were we misled, but our New Year’s Eve plans were completely ruined. Extremely disappointed with Westin’s handling of this situation.

I made a reservation months ahead and confirmed it, but when I arrived, they had NO room for me. I had to wait and wait while they checked out several rooms. Then I ordered room service for the next morning. It didn't come on time so I called. They lied & said it was on the way. IT NEVER ARRIVED SO I HAD TO CANCEL, RUSH DOWN & GRAB WHATEVER I COULD so I could get to my ride on time. I had to insist on being comped for that after a worker ran after me to get me to pay. Also, the phone in the room kept disconnecting from the wall. And the main desk couldn't hear me. I couldn't get the room temp to stay where I set it. A worker had to come set it. I tried to review the bill the day before I left. They wouldn't let me & said I could the next morning. So, the next morning I tried again & they wouldn't let me! DON'T LIE TO ME!! All in all, after traveling the world, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. My friend said Westin was very good. I DISAGREE. I have had better service at Hilton, Best Western & even Motel 6! Property is nice. Only thing I didn’t like at all was that we did not receive room keys for our room and needed a manager to escort all guests to their rooms and let them in, and check in was at 3pm but I did not receive my room (again with no room keys) until 8pm. 5 hours of waiting.

Everything about the Westin was exceptional! All the staff we came in contact with serviced with a smile! Kuddos to Levy at the guest counter and Lee at the baggage hold counter, our first contacts with very warm and welcoming service! Check in was at 3 pm, we arrived at 4:25 and was told our room was not ready and wouldn’t be ready for at least 30 minutes. The girl and the front desk didn’t seem to be concerned or apologetic for the delay. Was told I’d get a phone call, never did get that phone call so my husband went to the desk again to ask about when the room would be ready and the girl said “oh I was just about to email you”. Overall not a great experience with customer service and late check in. Room was not bad.

The staff up front were not very friendly or welcoming. Steve in parking area was most helpful. I made a mistake when making reservations through Expedia for 4 nights instead of 5. We arrived on Sunday. On Thursday we were out and received a call at 4:30pm saying we had to get our things and check out, which they could have told us much earlier. We rushed to the hotel and spoke to the staff up front and asked if we could stay one more night. They said they were booked. They didn’t offer to at least help find a room somewhere else. They just wanted us out of the room. I thought that was rude and that they didn’t care. Very poor service. Will not stay there again. I even fixed the sink in the bathroom. It was clogged. I should have charged for fixing it.

The hotel itself was nice but the customer service was awful. When we checked in, we were told that if we want late check out, it would be until 1pm and to just let them know the night before. When we went to go request late check out, I was told we can only give you until 12pm, they said thats the absolute latest check out. The day of checkout, I noticed they charged me an extra $120 dollars, the total was supposed to be $803, they charged me $923. When I asked what this was for, they said because I had an "extra" person in my room. I told them when I booked, I put it was 2 adults and 2 children and I was given a different price, the lady at the front desk was very rude and said it doesnt matter, you still have to pay the extra $120. After going back and forth, she finally realized that they made a "mistake" and put 3 adults and 1 child instead of 2 adults and 2 children and thats why I had an extra charge. So after she was extremely rude and condescending as if I was making things up, she gave me a pity apology and said she would remove the extra $120. Then when I asked her what time is late check out, she said 1pm..... it seems like they are either ignorant as to their policies or they discriminate based on who they are talking to. Overall, being a Marriot Bonvoy member, I am very disappointed with the service I received.

It is a centric and convenient location. Also close to a main public transportation hub, so you will see some homeless people in the area. During the day is not bad. If you’re doing any walking at night definitely recommend traveling with a partner or group.

The property is elegant and clean. It is close enough to the Bay and the Gaslamp to walk, but far enough away to avoid the crowds and noise. It was easy and inexpensive to Uber to Balboa Park and the Zoo. The on site restaurant was pricey, so we frequented the Cheescake Factory or Caps Pizza and Bar nearby. Both were delicious and much more economical. The staff was very kind and accommodating.

This hotel is a little outdated. I think there’s not enough staff, the pool area didn’t have towels, we had to ask the front desk for towels on two consecutive days. The room size is good. The surrounding area doesn’t feel safe at night. During the daytime is fine, you can walk to the USS Midway museum, and the hotel provided a complimentary ticket for one adult which is nice.

Quick check in on the night of arrival. The bar service was excellent with a good amount of beer on tap. Good appetizers. Norma was our house cleaning member and did a great job. The room was made up well and clean. She emphasized on customer service. There is a small cafe at the hotel that sold breakfast sandwiches and a good cup of coffee. Great morning just sitting and catching up with friends. The work out facility was clean and large enough to have multiple cardio machines, several weight training machines, and a full rack or dumbbells. The facility was constantly being checked and cleaned by staff. The swimming pool was small in size out perfect just to soak and cool off. Plenty of sunbathing chairs in the pool area.

They only have a grab&go and a $25 breakfast buffet that had meager offerings. 4 elevators with 1+ minute wait every time. One of the “included amenities” is “pet friendly” but they actually require $100 pet fee so it’s not an included amenity at all and they don’t have a dog run, bags, or ANY nearby grass areas at all. The surrounding block is pretty empty, with the nearest breakfast place 3 blocks away. The coffee place across the street appeared to be permanently closed, and every other spot on the same block was closed on weekends, except 7-11. The staff was very friendly but I would not stay here again for the aforementioned reasons.

The people that work here are wonderful. There were a couple of things that bothered me. #1 no room service…my phone would not connect with them. I was tired and didn’t feel like going down to the bar to eat. #2 there is no bar in the shower. I am 69 and the floor of the shower was a little slick for me but other than that I had a very comfortable stay.

I personally do not feel this was a four star hotel we had a chair with ripped fabric in our room of which I have photos. The breakfast buffet was closer to what you would get at a Holiday Inn then what I have had at other four star hotels. Next time I visit San Diego I will stay somewhere else. That being said I felt the customer service was very good.

This is my first stay in a Westin in a few years. I was there for 4 nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby and common areas were clean and stylish. My room was missing wash cloths when I checked in. They promptly brought me some. The room was clean and comfortable. The Heavenly bed is still very plush. Housekeeping was not up to expectations. I don't believe they cleaned the shower while I was there. There was also a day they didn't take out the trash. The breakfast buffet was not as good as in the past. That's not to say it was bad. But it was not what I expected from a Westin. I no longer consider them a premium hotel.

The room was pretty clean I had asked on hotels.com for a queen bed but was told on check in that it wasn’t available. I prefer the queen rooms because there’s usually more space around the bed. We did have to get a new remote for the tv. We didn’t use the amenities offered so I can’t comment on that. If they offered free breakfast I would have probably given this a 5.
