Hotel Wien-Schönbrunn

The breakfast was good for a vegetarian, not so if you expect to eat meat and the allergen information was only in German and structured in a way that made it impossible to understand, while the personnel were also unable to give a proper overview of the allogens. The room was a bit dusty. The personnel at the reception was nice and effective. It’s located outside the city centre but that works well since the metro station was super near the hotel. The frequency of the train was also great, and there were also some good non-touristy-restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk.

Very nice staff. We got a room on the top floor, which had the most amazing view over the city. When we got there, the room was clean (with the exception of some weird splatter on the wall besides the bed. I guess the cleaning staff missed that spot. It luckily came off easily). The day to day cleaning has room for improvements. The only thing that got done, was the bed being made and, for some reason, getting fresh towels daily, despite us hanging them to show we didn't need new ones. The large bin also got emptied one of the days. Had to ask for toilet paper one of the days, as we didn't automatically get a new roll when low. I wished the cleaning would've included wiping counter tops and tables. I deliberately removed all the items from our night tables and coffee table, as well as pushing all the toiletries to the side on the bathroom counter, to invite them to be wiped, but it never happened. Nothing major, but just something for the cleaning team to take into consideration. We never got the AC to work, despite following the exact instructions. Breakfast was okay. The only hot meat item is chicken meatballs, but they tasted good. Otherwise had scrambled eggs, bread, cold cuts, yogurt and cereals. Location is an hour walk/4 km from the city center. Metro station is right next to the hotel. Schönbrunn palace and Vienna zoo is at a nice walking distance way. Overall a nice hotel with room for a few improvements. Fairly priced for the location and room. Would recommend.

Excellent location with metro station next door. Very clean hotel with spacious room with good air-conditioning. Very good breakfast until 11:00 AM. English news channels such as BBC, CNN, etc. are available. Very friendly staff. We were very happy and thankful to the gentleman at the reception who made a free of cost early check-in possible for us. We do plan to go back to the hotel! Highly recommended!!
