Spark by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District

The elevator was broken but the staff was wonderful. It was clean and the room was large and comfortable. Excellent stay.

I arrived around 9 pm and there was no one at the front desk. The room was dirty, dusty and there was hair on the floor. Upon departure the elevator got stuck and we were stuck there for a while along with another family. The hotel manager got us out a while after but it was a scary experience, and it didn’t feel like he was truly surprised by the issue. Maybe it happens often. I hope they get it fixed. For the price I don’t think it’s worth it at all

Nice location, simple, quiet. Basic bagel bar for breakfast. Limited hours for the small pool on premises is a problem.

First of all, would I stay there again. Yes. The location is right where we want to be. What was wrong was the girl who checked us in had a phone in her ear and was on a personal call. She did not acknowledge us with a hello, just rudely said well what do you want. They advertised a bar and a restaurant. Both were closed. They were filled with beds and construction materials. December was too cold to swim but we thought we would jump in the spa. We were told it gets warm but the jets don't work. It did neither. The hallways walls and carpet were beaten up badly. The room were clean and bed was comfortable. Toilet seat was falling off. No microwave in room. Loved the location.

The elevators were broken. Ice machines broken. Hot water did not work at all. Dirty towels in the room.

Not enough room for complete review this time. Newly renovated hotels that has great potential. Front desk staff amazing .shower only had hot water..breakfast was just bagels period..parking was free on website but we're going to charge 11/night..no microwave and fridge was basically wedged in cabinet hard to use. No coffee pot..lastly got stuck in elevator for about 10 minutes..with 5 other people until we pried door open and called emergency operator in elevator and 911..quite disappointing for a "Hilton" chain.

Except for the location everything about the hotel is bad. They have no staff and everything is broken. No hot water to sink. Not enough towels. We were stuck in the elevator for 10 min. Had to call 911. No apology nor any compensation. The elevator was down for whole day. They do not have second elevator to reach 4th floor. Breakfast is a joke. They have only bagels. Avoid if you can.

Sound proof rooms, I did not hear the people next to me or above me. It was also extremely walkable to all the areas , don't know why they charge for parking. There should not be any parking fees for paid hotel quests that's crazy. to make them pay $20 per night.

Carpet in hallway was very dirty with stains. AC in the hallway wasn’t working and they didn’t even bother to fix it.

Decent stay for one night! It was clean and with a convenient location. However, the elevator wasn’t working and we didn’t have hot water during our stay.

Clean room and surrounding areas. Most staff friendly. Breakfast area clean and food good. Check out fast. Parking too expensive!

Good location and price, but the overall stay left a lot to be desired. Initially entering my room it seemed clean but when I pulled the table out I discovered it was filthy underneath, the tap water to include the shower smelled burnt, as if the boiler was going out. The elevator was clunky and slow to open sometimes, and there is only one washer and dryer so you are better off going to a laundromat if you need laundry. But the staff was nice, and you really can’t beat the location except for directly on the beach (it’s across the street from Ripleys and a short walk from the old town).

Not what I expected from a Hilton property. The room was damp and musty. There were other people hair in the sink.

The hotel is in a great area, walking distance from the heart of the historic district. It is said that all this place needs is attention to cleaning, the elevator seemed like the floor had not been mopped in a very long time, and many parts of the hotel, including the room, were a bit neglected. A good management team could turn this place around in a short time, but as it stands, I would not stay here again.

Staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean. Love the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel dispensers.

Clean and Very convenient location

Decent hotel and close to everything but, a little dated and rooms are barren! No coffee makers, no cups, basics that most hotels have! Breakfast was a nonstarter. Bagels, muffins, coffee. For breakfast included hotel, it lacked breakfast and we went elsewhere every day! Also, there were stains on our sheets and we had to ask to have them changed! Yuk!

I spent close to $400.00 on a one night stay here. The staff was polite and made a couple accommodations for my wife and I which was in contrast to some of the reviews here. But it is being renovated. Definitely wasn’t expecting to wake up to the sound of hammers and drills at 0830 on a Sunday yet that’s what happened. The hotel room looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in some time. There was dirt and debris on the carpet. There was even more dirt in the corners of the room. There were stains on the curtains and on the walls. Overall, staff was polite but I wouldn’t come back until renovations are done. The location to downtown was convenient but I’d spend the extra cash for cleanliness and go to the Hilton or Best Western.

The room was not the cleanest and they never cleaned our room during our stay. It is in a great location walking distance to most attractions.

Pro: shower pressure. A young man employed there - Benjamin Negative: dirty bathroom floor, policy of not cleaning room on 2nd day, unsafe luggage cart, elevator dirty and getting stuck, no information in room for restaurants, things to do. Dirty walls, corners. Our window was filthy, lots of condensation dripping when wiping, it was moldy. Fingerprints all over. Dirty shower head.

For a Hilton brand hotel, it was surprisingly average. The breakfast was very limited, there was no coffee maker or microwave in our room, and the one person staffing the building didnt seem interested in answering and questions.

Window view was of a roof. Very disappointing for the price.

Lovely hotel, priced at about half the rate for similar hotels in downtown St. Augustine. Rooms and bathrooms are large and beautiful (amazing decor!). The only thing for guests to keep in mind is that there are no coffeemakers in the rooms, you have to go to the lobby for hot water/coffee/tea. Also, while there is 'breakfast' every morning, it's just bagels and muffins, no hot food, but again, the hotel is priced very well and it is far cheaper to buy a nice meal for $15-$20 at Juniper Market next door than to pay an extra $200/night at another hotel just for eggs/sausage for breakfast. The staff is very kind, considerate and professional. If I'm ever in St. Augustine again, I will definitely stay here.

Good location, modern decor & very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is adequate, coffee is terrible ( which I find disappointing for Hilton as it is usually very good at other Hilton’s I’ve stayed at ) Staff could smile more. Parking fee seems excessive.

I was charged for parking. Wifi and tv didn’t work. Restaurant never opened. A tired property sustained by a great location.

There’s no WiFi here. I asked the 2 Jamaican ladies working in the front and they were no helpful at all. I explained I’m working and need WiFi in order to log in on my laptop and work and they just went in about their business. Super unprofessional and definitely will not be back here.

No coffee maker in room. I’ve only on third floor. Minor inconveniences.

Our room was next to a side entrance that hotel guests could use to enter the building. Constantly heard the slamming door throughout the night. Tried to check in through the app at 10:30AM, check in was not ready at 4:00pm, requested a digital key and did not receive it until we had to check-in at the front desk, after waiting behind 4 groups of guests also trying to check in at that time. Overall is an okay place to stay if you just need somewhere to sleep.

Staff was great but room had a few small problems. The plug in the tub was broken and when my husband tried to fix it it would not work! The toilet was not secured in place to the floor and there was a short in the lights on the beds so lights kept flickering

Outdated rooms😂 not worth the price. Little between rooms. Heard every word of guests in next room.

The check in was a bit long as only one person was working the desk, despite it being check in time. The staff was friendly. I didn’t realize there would be a $150 hold on my card for incidentals. Felt a bit excessive- even Disney resorts only hold $100 at a time. Plenty of parking, very close to the fort but just far enough away that it wasn’t noisy. Really great location. The room was clean, and we really didn’t hear anyone in the halls at night, no doors slamming or toilets flushing from other rooms. The breakfast offered was bagels, yogurt, and muffins which was just fine for us.

The location can’t be beat which is why we booked it. There was a festival this weekend and the city was incredibly busy. Unfortunately this hotel apparently did not take this into account. They had one person sitting at an office desk checking people in. There was about 20 people ahead of us when we arrived at 4pm. Several of them had come a little before check in time and was turned away and told to come back at 4, leading to a mass back up. Took over an hour to get our room keys/check in. She would also stop in the middle of checking people in to run up the stairs to check if rooms were clean. I think this was the issue of not enough staff so I’m no way am I blaming the poor staff for this hotels lack of planning. I’m sure people behind us were even later getting to the festival due to waiting hours for check in and missed some performers they paid good money to see. I hope they do better, but then again maybe they wouldn’t because they know they have a coveted location. The whole check in process made you feel like they were doing you a favor and not that you shelled out almost $300 a night. No apologies were given for the wait. And they were pretty short when we asked them if we could park a couple extra hours after check in. We were happy to pack our stuff the next day and move to another hotel where they accommodated us more with early check in parking/and next day parking.

Terrible hotel 10 out of 10 do not recommend. Staff was extremely unpleasant to deal with and rude... firs day on check in elevator does not work , then no hot water for 3 days in the room when we wanted to take a shower. Notified front desk no one cared... cleaning service cleaned our room the first night and subsequent nights took our dirty towels and did not replace them. Asked for towes on the second night , they had no clean towels and i had ro wait 45 minutes where i got a text that the 2 towels i request were ready for me to pick up at the front desk... attenteant tells me that the staff dosent clean every room every day.... trash place for the price i could have stayed elsewhere , if this s**t hole was 10 bucks a night i wouldnt stay again.

The Hotel Was very nice but the staff was terrible very rude my sister also rented a room and also was very disappointed we also asked them for extra towels and pillows and they told us they didn’t any so ridiculous. And to top it off when we went to check out we got stuck in the elevator. I will never recommend or stay at this hotel again unless they change the staff.

Smooth check in, clean room, and perfect location!

The location is good. It was clean but was very basic. Had a motel feel. There’s a $25 a night parking fee and breakfast also had a few packaged items, hard boiled eggs and bagels. Really not substantial but if you like those kinds of items, it works.

Breakfast was disappointing, just bagels and coffee. There is a $22. a night parking fee that we didnt realize. There wasn't any info or magazines on sites or maps.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent staff. Great location, loved the holiday decorations! There is complementary coffee available in the lobby and a bagel and yogurt bar in the morning. One of the elevators gets stuck if you push a button more than once...which is a little nerve wracking but great stay otherwise!

Our stay was nice however breakfast very spartan.

Very basic place, coffee carafe almost always empty, breakfast is almost a joke, as even the orange juice tastes watered down. Nonetheless, the place was clean, which counts for a lot.

Breakfast needs more variety, including hot meals.

The employees were wonderful, hotel was clean & close to St Augustine but we were very disappointed in the breakfast if you could call it that. They only had bagels, packaged muffins, & orange juice along with coffee & tea.

Breakfast super limited. Location is prime, walkable everywhere! Staff super nice. Parking is not free. Would book again.
