Great location, rooms at a decent price, and everything else is super expensive. A pint of beer, a single Bailey's, and a coke was 50p shy of £20! Parking was £14 per 24 hours And this was the first hotel I can recall where residents of the hotel had to pay extra to use the pool. £10 per person £20 family) for 90 mins. While the rooms, decor etc were good, the cost of everything else seemed a little over the top.

Check was fine. Arrived in our room and no water which is a given in most hotels. Just a basic couple of tea bags and coffee sachets. They did send two cans of water when advised. Also disappointing to have to pay a further £10 each to use the pool facilities. Pretty poor when we had paid £170 for one night

Really disappointed that hotel guests have to pay extra to use the pool. We stayed as a family of four and it would have cost an additional £40 to use the pool! We weren’t made aware of this before booking and felt completely ripped off.

Lifts regularly break down, feels old and run down, keys stop working if you have a charge on your room (they don't tell you this at check in), the bar feels understaffed at times, the rooms are always warm as the aircon is sketchy. The staff are all super friendly, and easy to talk to. The breakfast is AMAZING. Good location for the NEC.

We had a great experience at the hilton. The only let down was the main entrance door was broken so had to gonin another way. If id of had a message i would of got dropped off closer the the other entrance with all our bags. And the lift was also broken.

Unfortunately the pool was closed due to technical issues, some of the staff seemed like they didn’t know how things worked at the hotel (possibly new starters) other than that a pleasant stay Bar prices are maybe a tad higher than expected

I must say the hotel is quite large , nice pool a few restuarnts on the property ... my rooms we ok minis the heating but overall the staff was very helpful .

The first room I was given had a moth infestation. I was quickly changed, and upgraded. The new room (like the first) had an ill-fitting window and the motorway is nearby. The hotel is tired. Breakfast was astonishingly busy with limited space and rushed staff.

Toilet wasnt clean (at all) and tv remote did not work. They waived my parking fee to cover it, although that doesnt really help me as its a business expense and i had to endure it. The bed was clean, thankfully. I had a good nights sleep.

There was no warmth to the hotel. The front of house staff just seemed very transactional. The room itself was fine but it could have done with a thorough clean. There was a dust web above our bed on the ceiling for the two nights we stayed showing that the cleanliness wasn’t really up to scratch. The pool was okay but the changing rooms were horrid. Would class it more as a 3 star.

Checked in here to go to the NEC. We stayed here before and it was very nice - not this time. The corridors were very tired, damaged peeling paint, generally very shabby overall. Our bathroom stank of stale urine so we asked to be moved. Housekeeping was sent to clean the bathroom but I still wanted to be moved as if it had been cleaned so badly initially what else was dirty? We were eventually moved to another room which had been sprayed so heavily with air freshener that it gave me a splitting headache and started to trigger an asthma attack in my husband. Rang again for another room and was told all rooms would smell like that, apparently not, the first one stank of old pee! The woman on the phone was less than helpful, I told her if the air freshener in every room was the case then we couldn’t stay there as their products were making us ill and I demanded a refund, which was agreed. We booked into the Crowne Plaza over the road and had a very pleasant stay.

I've stayed here before but this time I was allocated a corner room with very little wardrobe space. No fridge again. The air conditioning didn't work to warm the room up but supplied with an electric fan heater. The problem was that the heater and the kettle tripped out the electrics plunging the room into darkness. Maintenance man came an told us about the problem. An unsatisfactory stay.

Cold room, stripped bathtub, the carpet in the hallway with stains and smell status. The staff was okay, no problems with them. But the hotel doesn’t deserve 4 stars. Maximum 2.

The hotel seems a bit old (lift slow, pool not very clean), but yet it is still very good compared to the average ones. The beds are comfortable, the room was very clean overall. The breakfast is good but lack a little bit of sweet choices. The people were nice. Overall it was a good stay but I was hoping a little something more from an Hilton, probably mainly because the building feels old.

Bathroom not clean - missing plug in bath, chain left hanging down the drain and covered in hair and filth from other guests. No attention to detail! Room a little cold so a heater has been provided- not very eco friendly!!!

The put us above nightclub which started pounding at 11:00pm. We moved but my poor 80 year old mother was to tired to move. Next morning her bathroom had a flood which ended up forcing her to move. Very inconvenient.

Room was really cold with no ability to increase the heating. And the room was above the delivery shutter, so there was noise all night long including screaming. Bar and choice of food looked good. It just didnt provide a decent nights rest before a large event the next day.

The hotel was clean and had everything you needed. Good location for walking to the BP Pulse arena. The room was comfortable, well maintained and clean. It was nice and quiet considering it is a big hotel and busy, we didn't hear any noise from other rooms. The bathroom fixtures were a little old and cranky e.g. the taps on the bath were difficult to use and the toilet made a noise for about 5 minutes after flushing. The breakfast was exceptional with a lot of choice.

The room was cold but we did have a heater. Also we were given a disabled room right next to the lifts. Very noisy. Couldn’t understand why we were given the disabled room as we did not require it. Between the airport and lifts the room needs better soundproofing.

The room which was supposed to be a single deluxe was at the very end of the hotel and when first entered was very cold and even smelt damp,reported to reception advised maintenance would attend , a gentleman turned up with a electric heater and confirmed air con heating had not worked for some time ,if felt like I was lodging at rigsbys rising damp lodgings not a quality hotel.

The room was OK, large bed albeit quite firm, no mini bar or fridge in the room which was disappointing. The shower cubicle was small, I struggled to turn around in there!! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but the quality of some food items could have been better. The bar was disappointing, we'd have been here every night, however the service was very slow and the fact that they stop serving cocktails at 8 pm meant that we went elsewhere for drinks, there appeared to be no management at the bar and a significant lack of experience, I ended up paying £37 for 2 G&T's which were the first and last drinks that we had there!! Overall OK.

Check in was odd, the person forgot to tell me how to get to my room, some staff are abrupt to to the of rudeness, others are just really rude, others stuff are great, room is great but the hot drink supply is not great and no biscuits in an executive room, room was cold and air con not great.

The best part of £200 for what is essentially Hilton's basic-tier room is very steep. The room was simple, but modern. Kingsize bed, 'balcony' overlooking the carpark (lake to the right). TV remote wasn't the easiest to use. Bathroom looked dated - with just a basic, fixed shower head in a bath, and there seemed to be no way of adjusting the temperature. As it's near the airport it is normal for guests to be walking the corridors during the early hours - yet the doors offer zero level of soundproofing. We heard guests talking with staff, and greeting each other from around 5am.

Good hotel, but very poor check-in experience Our stay at this otherwise nice hotel began with a very disappointing check-in. Despite arriving at 3:30 p.m., our room was still not ready. Nadia at the front desk was rude and dismissive, telling us to wait 10 minutes with no apology. When we returned after 10–15 minutes, she again responded rudely, saying it had only been eight minutes. A few minutes later, she refused to serve us altogether, forcing us to rejoin another queue and wait an additional 20 minutes. As a Hotels.com Gold member and frequent business traveller, I have NEVER experienced such unprofessional behaviour, especially at a Hilton property. Fortunately, Abud at the second desk was courteous, apologised and offered us three drink vouchers as compensation. Aside from the check-in issue, the rest of our stay was pleasant. The breakfast and pool staff were friendly and professional, and the facilities were good. Overall, I can recommend this hotel—but I strongly hope management addresses the behaviour of certain front desk staff to ensure all guests are treated with respect.

We arrived at 3.30pm - to then stand in a queue for nearly 2 hours to get checked in - to then be told our room wasnt ready! We were going out for Dinner at 6pm. Eventually we were allocated a different room to the one we booked - with a lot less space for the 2 days. Outside our room for a whole day was a pile of dirty laundry - a duvet in the corridor etc -

Unfortunately i felt that this hotel did not live up to the Hilton standard. We arrived late afternoon and found that we needed to wait 20 minutes to check in, the line of people wanting to check in was long. On check in, we were not informed that the restaurant was closed due to a private function, and found that we could only eat at the bar together with 200 other guests. This automatically brings the standard down, as the staff could not professionally cope. We ended up leaving and walking 500m down to another hotel to eat. The rooms were large and comfortable, but the bathroom was ridiculously small (talk about swinging a cat here you couldn't even swing a toothbrush). The shower had old difficult to align taps, meaning that the shower was either to hot or to cold. Overall a very average stay, quite disappointing for a Hilton

Awful check in experience - they did not believe that I had already paid for the room. As it was busy, I felt rushed to pay and then had to be refunded when I showed my bank statement. Another guest was allocated the same room by the hotel and entered while I changing. Our room key then didn't work and staff hadn't noted my car registration or that I'd paid for parking.

Hotel location and rooms were perfect. Check in was so slow, and arranging parking a pain. Took ages to get a receipt - not the best service form check in desk really. Otherwise, all ok.

We were very disappointed that The Hilton Metropole had no reservation for us despite us having an email confirmation from Hotels.com showing our room had been paid for a year ago. Several staff looked at their monitors but could not find the reservation we then had to move around the corner to speak to someone else which was quite embarrassing. They did assure us that they would be able to find us a room but it was a bit uncomfortable.

Most of it was fine but the dining was awful. The restaurant was closed for a private function (unknown/unmentioned at time of booking) so I had room service. I tried to ring down for it but there was no menu and the phone didn't work. There was a QR code stuck on the mirror instead. I paid £48 for a salad, a chicken curry dish and sparkling water. There as a £6 tray charge. However the food arrived in paper boxes, in a carrier bag. No tray, no plate, no service really. The delivery man was brusque. It would be much more in keeping with the hotel to have a proper room service menu, on real paper not a QR code. Please present the food on real crockery.

A great hotel in a fab location for Resorts World arena and the NEC. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good breakfast options to cater for vegan and gluten free and also vegan and gluten free options in the lounge bar. Large car park, very easy experience all round. Our room didn't smell very nice, almost like it had been a smoking room or someone had smoked in there. Couldn't work out what it was but thankfully there was an opening window which helped air the room

Although convenient for the NEC, this is extremely expensive for a very average standard of hotel and the 24-hour restaurant has a very limited offer and mediocre food. At breakfast the coffee is poor but the food is okay. On the plus side, for a hotel so close to the airport, it is very well sound-insulated so quiet for sleeping and the beds are comfortable.

Took over an hour to check in then was given the wrong room so had to be relocated took another 30 mins. The bathroom was extremely old fashioned with a shower over a bath. A massive crack in the sink, the plug didnt work, you cant see it in the photo but the crack is ALL the way along from the top of the sink to the plug hole. the bath had patches of repair all over it so much so it did not make you want to use it. We ordered room service as we were just so knackered. Both ordered fish and chips came to £48, arrived in cardboard boxes and nothing to really write home about, 5/10 Id say. The pool last timing was 9.00pm. We were looking forward to a swim but it took us so long to check in and then move we didnt have time! We paid £219 and were so looking forward to an upper class overnight stay, it is The Hilton afterall, we would of be better off staying in the Premier Inn for less than half the price. Very very disappointed!

Always a pleasant stay here whilst at conference. Everything I need in the room and breakfast is very well laid out with an abundance of options. If eating at the bar for an evening meal though service can be slow, so don’t wait for staff at the table order your food at the bar!
