Showboat Hotel Atlantic City

Bare bones room. Key card requirement for elevator wasn't working allowing non guests to get upstairs which is a huge safety concern. I found out why it was "cheaper" than other places, though still not cheap.

The best I can say is that it was a quick trip down the elevator and on to the beach. The bathroom was stocked with 2 bath towels, 1 bar of soap. When you're at the beach, you tend to take more showers. This is the first time in my life I've seen a hotel room that didn't have a coffee maker or a blow dryer. Room service was not a daily thing unless you called for it. Parking was $50 for 2 nights. I had stayed at the Trop the previous week and parking was a total of $10 for 3 nights. I was surprised by the condition of the hotel. Most of the room doors were scratched badly, many of the carpets on the main floor were outlined with black duct tape, and most ice machines were broken. We had to check several floors to find a machine that worked. On a positive note, i did appreciate seeing some of Seward Johnson's sculptures.

This hotel was the worst , I got there around 1 pm they said the room will be ready after 1 pm and someone will call me from front seat , no one called I went back at 4:30 pm they said it should be ready by 5 pm , at 5 pm I went back n it was ready went to the elevator it took us 40 minutes to get into because they weren’t working n everyone was trying to get in one, at check out we waited for 35 minutes to get a elevator to get to the lobby, smh never going back there ,

Dogs friendly, causal, care free Has indoor water park next to hotel. Also with arcade . Nice for kids Right in front of the broadwalk and ocean. Only draw back is no good restaurant on site But you can go to Oceans resort and casino and Hard Rock hotel next back Walking distance Also very close to the Steel Pier amusement park Good value

I like this hotel for my kids due to the ammeneties such as the generous size of the arcade roller skating water park mini golf and water park. It’s adult friendly if you like to drink to stay calm . The hotel however is old especially the rooms. I also noticed the elevators by the arcade was out of service 3 of the 6 and at one time 4 out of the six. This caused long waiting times especially during “rush hour”

When we first arrived there, there was eight elevators and only two were working and people are waiting up to 45 minutes to try to get an elevator up or down. Had to walked down from floor 18 to main lobby. Only two working ice machines in our tower. Restaurant We’re close they say they're doing renovation, but there wasn’t any renovation going on. There was escalator and they were not working either. Front desk directed to parking garage. Was not expecting to have to pay parking on daily basis. Since it’s no longer a casino is that why the charge for the parking. Rooms floors were dirty and no ice bucket in room had to ask for it. Overall was not worth the money or stay there.

This "resort" is a rip off and the website is misleading. Upon entering you are slammed with extremely loud music. It is overwhelmingly unpleasant. This hotel has no normal pools. Instead you have to pay $69 per person to enter the overcrowded waterpark. One small pool and a lazy river stuffed full of rowdy people. There is no relaxing in the river or actually room to swim. If you are into getting splashed and pushed then this is for you. The few chairs/lounge chairs are taken by people's belongings. Do not go after 4pm when ticket prices drop and you are sardined against other people. The adult only area is small with few chairs and although quiet, was a place for drunk couples to mess around in the water. The outside "game area" is a joke. Dont fall for the webpage. The rooms are on the poor side. When i walked into mine the smell of marijuana was overpowering. I asked for air freshener 3xs but they never came over even tho the cleaners were in our hallway. The furniture is sad with extremely uncomfortable super hard thin mattresses. There was a tiny wicker bedside table between the beds which is so small it held a bottle of water and the yellowed 1990s hotel phone. The linens were poor quality and looked stained. The bathroom needed basic repairs. Toilet struggled to flush and moldy shower curtain. Not a single ice machine worked in the entire hotel. The burger place and the small cafe were really good. The smell of marijuana is everywhere be prepared.

The hotel was loud, outdated, and not really clean. All the carpets had stains. What made it even worse for me is that fact that they closed down the pool so that you had no choice but to pay to get to the water park. Parking was way too expensive. $25 a day for parking and $40 a family for the water park. No breakfast, all the games were expensive. Thank God for the boardwalk and the beach, I will not go back to showboat

Hotel was older but was aware of that - was not aware every single ice machine was BROKEN! EVERY SINGLE ONE! Myself and 2 other people that met in the elevator looking for ice went to every floor...went to the front desk and agent told us she didn't know what she was supposed to do about it. We asked if they had a back of house ice machine and was told she didn't know and have a good night. Restaurant and bar both said no.

Internet wifi was spotty at best. Ice machines on every floor were out of order. The hotel appearance overall could use some upgrades (feels kind of old and dingy). Waterpark is fine (wish it was a little bigger with more rides for older kids).

There were roaches in my room

The reason for my stay was to attend a concert on the boardwalk. When I returned to my room took a shower got into bed when I noticed a cockroach crawling on the wall near the TV. I killed the roach with my sandal. Got back into bed, and the other double bed in my room was another roach crawling on the pillow / luckily I was able to videotape this videotape…. Pack my bags immediately went down to the front desk they offered no resolution other than they will reimburse me refund me. They were not able to give me any type of email confirmation regarding this refund. I was highly disappointed to find two roaches in my room second apart. This is terrible and poor conditions for a supposedly luxury hotel. I plan to follow up by emailing the management the information was provided by Miss Alba the desk clerk.

This place needs to be overhauled in every way , the carpets has duck tape the pillows were tiny , the smell was awful I will never stay there again even if you give me the room for free

The conditions at the Showboat Hotel were terrible considering the amenities that were not included for the stay. We experienced several issues: 1) the carpets throughout the building were filthy. 2) the areas where the ice machines were located were filthy. 3) we had to change rooms once. First, because there was trash underneath the beds. Second, the walls were dirty. And there were dead bugs on the wall in the bathroom. 4) there were no mattress covers on the beds and there were blood spots on the mattresses. 5) it can be seen that the building has not had a thorough cleaning in a while. 6) the stairs in the parking deck leading to the street is poorly lit, is filthy, is ripe for someone being robbed or a woman being assaulted

The Elevators were not up to code. They would open and close several times before closing and going up or down. The smell in the main areas was horrible as they seemed to be trying to cover up a stale or musty smell. Got a coffee for my sister at the cafe in the lobby, and the lid popped off when she took her first sip and coffee went down her shirt. The reason that it popped off was due to the lip of the cup being bent. The music was so loud that it was deafening when we got off of the elevators of the Bourbon Towers! Food At ACE Was absolutely horrible! And the flies on the inside of the glass where we chose our pizza was literally disgusting!

The room was too cool, tried adjusting thermostat, then too warm. NO kitchen, only small refrigerator. No coffee in room, no hair dryer. Toilet tank was filling often, slow leak??

Our room at the Showboat was ok. It was clean, but the bed mattress was hard and very uncomfortable. Other guests in the hotel were very inconsiderate making lots of noise shouting in the hall at all hours of the night, which interrupted our sleep often. The rest of the hotel, however, was dirty and a bit run down. The check in area was so noisy with kids running around and people talking that it was difficult to hear the check in staff. I do not think we will be staying here again.

Stay was alright couple things that felt needed updating. Had suite very outdating furniture, bed was old could tell also didnt have an actual fitting sheet was just a sheet. Pillows were horrible not even full size.

We rented the Oceanview King w/Balcony. It was spacious with mini-fridge and microwave The Showboat has some great attractions for families with children (arcade, waterpark, raceway etc.). Lots of people with pets. The room showed wear (torn carpet, missing outside handle on sliding door, scratched floors, cobwebs in sliding door). But the views from the wrap around balcony were amazing. We didn't like the motion sensored air conditioning. No matter what temp you put it on, it cuts off during the night when you're not moving until it hits 73. We kept going from hot and sweating to cold.

The hotel was better than I expected it to be. Our room was nice and in a good location. Expect a LOT of children, the hotel is geared towards kids. My only complaint was our shower the water was trickling out.

The renovated part of the hotel is cleaner, just dont end up on a floor that has not been renovated yet. No pool even though there is one advertised, no clock, no hairdryer, no microwave, no coffee pot, hardly any furniture you could hear your voice echo.

The room was clean, bathroom very nice. Beautiful ocean view. Did not like that there was no coffee pot in room and no wake up call option

It was a comfortable stay, looks understaffed not many to go to for in person Information but the sweet Lady that checked me in was very helpful many of the people working should take after her lead and willing attitude she went above and beyond for me. Your hotel totally sucks in every aspect. Its October 1,2025 today. My stay was September 21,2025. I still haven't seen my $167.99 hold on my credit card return yet. Your service people at the desk are ignorant and hang up on me many of my attempts. I want my money back. I can see why this hotel is empty. Your low daily rate tricked me and i learned my lesson. Ocean one always. Its worth the higher rate with quality service and money returned in 3 days. Showboat hotel is a disgrace. If i have to drive down their it will not be pretty I want my money back.

Uncomfortable bed. Rude guests and staff. Called more than 20x to talk to the front desk, no response on the phone or through the messaging option

We had made reservations through Expedia only to find out once we got there that the hotel was sold out and they didn’t have a room-not fun with kids and a a dog! We were told they could get housekeeping to clean a room but didn’t know how long it would actually take. There weren’t carts for luggage…nobody at bell service and nobody at valet service. Hotel is evidently used to this occurring as Expedia always overbooks the hotel. Hotel is huge and lots of attractions but too much walking and hauling to get from garage which is an additional $25 a night to the actual elevators. I haven’t been to AC in a long time and it is so degraded and overpriced it’s ridiculous. Boardwalk was very run down and not a good ambiance for children. Sorry to see AC so degraded and so changed :(

Room was very nice As we seen on website they show the pool but there was not a pool Elevator is a problem specially check in and check out time very hard to go up and down no beach lounger umbrella and towels available as they mention on website We had to rent if we want them on the beach and they are very expensive Because it’s not a casino it’s only arcade games it’s very noisy and unconvincing bring the luggage to the rooms Over all we will not staying there again Staff was not very helpful

Love AC and the balcony and beach are amazing!

Showboat is convenient for access to the Boardwalk and to Ocean and Hard Rock. The entry to Showboat is usually noisy and crowded, and the elevators were slow (were they all working? -- not sure). The room was very comfortable and clean, and the air conditioning worked well. The neighbors upstairs made a lot of noise ( I think they had a pet who was dropping one of those large rawhide bones on the floor while chewing it. ) Overall, room was good, but there is a lot of noise around the hotel.

It was close to the amusement park and water park, but the games in the arcade most were broken , and the air conditioner barely worked

Showboat Hotel has fallen on hard times. The room was clean, staff was polite, and there was no bad smell, these are the highlights. Mattress very soft, lightbulbs broken in the bathroom and nightstand lamp. The hotel was shabby overall, terribly stained carpets held down with duct tape in all the common areas. No real breakfast -- only hot food options were steamed croissant egg sandwiches, kind of gross. Muffin was good. Will not go back.

I love the arcade.... would like to see more virtual reality games.... Room was very clean...... I don't like that it doesn’t cater to Adulting at night.... No adult drinks or food at later hours

Parking is outrageous and expensive. The second and fifth floors are closed for construction with the spa and pool and restaurants and none of this is included in the website when booking and of course no one mentions it….. surprise

As a family vacation with kids it was a great experience. However, I think the rooms should be updated, some of the restaurants in the hotel have a lot of flies around the food (breakfast buffet). The rooms are not cleaned daily ( nothing said about housekeeping options). Again it’s a family themed hotel with kids everywhere, my grandson loved every minute! The Water Park was added plus especially purchasing the tickets off Groupon!
