Our stay was wonderful, probably the best hotel we stayed in during our 11 nights in Japan. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The bar was a nice feature when coming back from a long day of exploring. The onsen was also lovely, I went around dinner time and I was the only one there. Would definitely recommend to others, I don’t have anything negative to comment on about this property!

Excellent hotel very central in Kyoto. Recently renovated and sparkling clean. The hotel is very stylish and calm. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The onsen was fabulous and relaxing with a real spa feel. There are two onsens (men/women) so accessible at all times during the opening hours, unlike many other hotels in Japan which alternate the times that men and women can use the onsen. There is also a small but well equipped gym on the same floor as yhe onsen. We had some drinks at the bar - very good cocktails! Thoroughly recommend this hotel and would choose to come back again in the future.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very attractive and modern. Our room was large and well laid out. The location is ideal-a brief walk to Nishiki market and 18 minutes to Gion. Many restaurants are nearby. Kyoto station is about a 15 minute taxi ride. The staff is excellent and helpful. The property is meticulously maintained. I would skip the restaurant for dinner. The food is tasty but the portions are small even by Japan standards. We did not eat breakfast there. We would stay here again without question.

Beautiful new property, near station. Lots of food options for all meals nearby. We had a junior suite and then moved to 2 rooms. Both were great. Don’t forget to try the onsen or book the private one, treat experience. Hotel check in takes some time but they give you a nice beverage while you are waiting. All rooms have toothbrushes, slippers and pjs. We had a nice fancy drink at their bar, they charge a cover fee but it was fine, it’s pretty pricy but a nice escape:

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The Mitsui Garden Sanjo Premier in Kyoto was spotless—everything was extremely clean and smelled amazing from the moment we walked in. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly attentive, polite, and respectful—top-notch service throughout. The hotel is located right in the heart of Kyoto, making it easy to walk to nearby shops, restaurants, and attractions. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I visit Kyoto. The atmosphere of the hotel was great - very relaxing after a day out sightseeing.

I was so amazed by this hotel that I actually extended my stay. Ohata and Kamide did an amazing job by the service they provided. Besides the excellent service provided by the staff, the LOCATION of the hotel is in the center of Everything yet tucked away from all of the noise. Rooms were great. Excellent bedding and comfortable mattress. (Which is very important) and lastly the ONSEN. After a long day of walking around the city it was great to come back and detox . I'll definitely recommend this hotel and I cannot wait to return. The staff at this location were the best.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It is the perfect location as it’s very walkable and in the heart of the best shopping area in Kyoto. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We had to (and were very excited to) extend our stay by 1 night and they made it happen with no problems. My boyfriend ended up proposing in Kyoto and the concierge Chihiro helped me find a place to get my nails done same day and book a celebratory dinner! She even called ahead to make sure the restaurant knew and they gave us yummy dessert. When we checked out, the hotel staff had a present waiting for us. We ended up shipping our bags to our next destination too which was super easy with their help. Overall, such a fantastic experience.

All staff were polite, friendly, and professional. Man who ran breakfast buffet was excellent. Bartender was excellent. Man who served at the restaurant was excellent. Check in & check out were smooth and simple thanks to the helpful staff. Hotel itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and room was perfect.
All staff were polite, friendly, and professional. Man who ran breakfast buffet was excellent. Bartender was excellent. Man who served at the restaurant was excellent. Check in & check out were smooth and simple thanks to the helpful staff. Hotel itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and room was perfect.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very attractive and modern. Our room was large and well laid out. The location is ideal-a brief walk to Nishiki market and 18 minutes to Gion. Many restaurants are nearby. Kyoto station is about a 15 minute taxi ride. The staff is excellent and helpful. The property is meticulously maintained. I would skip the restaurant for dinner. The food is tasty but the portions are small even by Japan standards. We did not eat breakfast there. We would stay here again without question.

Perfect location for visiting Kyoto. A few minutes down to the market area, where there are loads of restaurants, etc and very easy access to transport or walking to other areas. The hotel was lovely and modern, but keeping the ‘Japanese’ feel. We really enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend. The public bath was lovely and very quiet whenever we used it, and it was very useful having a laundry room available too.

Great service. Location is great (next to the Kyoto museum and lots of restaurants and shops nearby.) also close to the Nishiki market and other places to shop. Room was spacious and had great tech to control lights/ac etc. great Sake bar on-site too.

We stayed for 2 nights: our rooms are very quiet, the AC in the rooms are also very quiet. It seems the Japanese hotels are able to manage their air vents much better than most American hotels. The showers are very very good, bed sheets and pillows are comfortable. WiFi is fast. There's 1 thing I would like the hotel to improve: the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired: they obviously try to cater to the white people, but bakeries taste all stale, even the bread on their made to order avocado toast tastes like Safeway bread that expired a week ago. One waiter speaks English, but was curt, rude, unhelpful. Coffee was similar to pot coffee in a 2 star American hotel.

I had such amazing stay at the hotel (4 nights). Very stylish hotel and the room was big and roomy with a contemporary yet still cosy interior. Breakfast was nice and tasty as well. Highly recommend this Hotel in Kyoto if you want to stay very central!
