Best experience ever. World Class stay. Everything was premium. Shampoo, Body wash, Conditioner, Mattresses, Beverages and snacks unlimited, Complementary parking yes you hear me. Amazing breakfast included with all the drinks you can imagine. Best area in French Quarter. The host was spectacular and makes us feel not just welcome but as family in the mansion. To be even more the pool is private and 24 hrs. Roomza congratulations keep it that way and you will have a loyalty clientele.

The property is charming and beautiful. Since it is a former home from 1800s I think, it doesn’t have elevators, and the stairs are steep. If stairs are difficult for you, request a ground floor room. We liked everything about this hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Wish we had found this place years ago! Very conveniently placed between Bourbon Street and Frenchman's Street for our jazz needs. The parking was great--a lot two doors down that didn't require expensive valet parking. And it is right next door to Port of Call for the best hamburgers in the world! The staff was very friendly! Free soft drinks and snacks throughout the day. The bed was incredibly comfy.

So you are not staying at Saint Regis. But if you are into fun historical, this is a great stay. The rooms are clean. The staff is amazing and we love the privacy in the quiet. Plus, you can walk anywhere around you want as far as the French corner goes.

Beautiful place. Even better than photos. Warm welcome. Near French Quarter, but quiet. Walkable to main attractions. Friendly staff. Room was spacious with loads of storage. Pool was not inviting - don’t think it had been cleaned. For us,the weather was hot, but maybe the locals considered it out of season.

They're going through ownership change... Brian at the front desk was so helpful. Hot daily breakfast cooked at Buffa's. The propert is really 3 buildings. The mansion house, the back house, Napoleon, and the 4 story 1700s house, which had the slowest elevator in New Orleans! The rooms were a good size, but our friends in the Napoleonic King room didn't have a fridge. The pool is fantastic! They do need a few more pool loungers. The key situation is nerve-wracking because it's 1 key fob per room... upgrading that to a bracelet fob for each guest would be a huge bonus. The room was spacious and the AC worked well. The condo-style rooms only have 1 chair for the living room. need a love seat at a minimum...these were rooms 4B and 3B. I would recommend this hotel for a great stay, close to, but not in the French Quarter. Very near Frenchman Street too.

We were terribly disappointed on the whole experience from the day that we checked in to the next day after canceling our stay for the second night. The advertisement is that we are staying at a mansion, and then they put us on a house a couple of houses away from the main building. The staff receiving us upon arrival was a guard that could barely speak English. Once we got into the room, he had a very strong smell of mold, the furniture was old and in bad condition, the walls were peeling off, the kitchen faucet was broken, There was no furniture on the patio, although we paid for the presidential suite. In the room, the fan was covered with dust, as if nobody had cleaned it in several years, we would not recommend anybody staying at this place. When it comes to reading it in stars, there is not a -5 star hotel, that’s what I would give this property.

It was a pleasure to stay at Melrose. We had late check in (12 am) and the security was very accommodating. Everyone at this property was so welcoming and offered to bring whatever we needed to our suite. Bonus: everything is within walking distance (10-15 min walk). Ubers and Lyfts are always nearby if you’re feeling lazy. I will certainly be back!

An absolutely beautiful old mansion! We were greeted with a nice bottle of wine in our room. Water and soda available either in our room or the main kitchen. However, our TV remote didn’t work and it took them 24 hours to replace it. The area rug in our room was gross. Easy to replace I would think along with the rug in the main hallway, you had to lift your suitcase over the edge of it. A very convenient location and just a short walk to bourbon st. I would stay there again.

Melrose place was in an amazing location and the staff was very accommodating. There was a shuffle of rooms b/c of drainage issues. The staff was quick to respond. The second room was a bit outdated and the bathroom had evidence of mold. Breakfast was a nice addition however the quality of the product was less than stellar.

Hotel has great potential but, I would not stay there again until the place was truly ready for guest. The shower leaked, no bulbs in the lamps, nor were they near an outlet so they were not even plugged in. Under the rug there was lot of dirt along with a toothbrush and broken glass.

Very good sized Frenchman Suite. Very Private and Quiet. Walking distance to the French Quarter. The only bad is that the overall cleanliness could have been better. Outdoor poolside tables were dirty, in room dryer drum and vent filled with lint/dust. Area rugs are in need of replacement. Shower missing faucet knob.

Room is bright and bed super comfy. The service of all the employees were exceptional. The hotel is beautiful and it has good amenities. Loved the toiletries provided and the breakfast was pretty good too. Room was not sound isolated so you will hear the people walking in the hallway.

The location of Melrose is great - close to the French Quarter and Frenchman Street but not right in the thick of things. The rooms were super clean and spacious. We reserved one of the Napoleon Queen rooms - I believe they were the only ones remaining. They are located in a room adjacent to the Mansion. People who are sensitive to noise and light should consider booking another room or location. 2 of the 4 rooms back up to the street, making it quite noisy with the older walls and door. There is also a security light outside that makes it very hard to darken the room at night. The water in the shower does not get above luke warm, at best, so if you like hot showers, this may not be the best bet for you. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were given two different times for breakfast so we almost missed that one day.

The only complaint I had was the windows that open up to the balconys do not stay open, they had to be propped up by a bar stool. And the TV in the living room was very small and did not work and the one in the bedroom was very small. Other then that everything about the plave from the service to the room to the location was perfect!

The room was very nice. We loved the shutters on the windows, but there really needs to be some blackout shades underneath because it did let in a lot of light at night. It took a very long time to get hot water, and I never did get any from the bathroom sink. The bed was very comfortable. The regular refrigeration in the room did not work, so there was just a teeny little fridge on the counter. But I can’t say enough about Brian. He was wonderful. He was efficient he was knowledgeable. He took care of any problem we had.

The property is beautiful. We received an upgrade to a full suite. Very modern compared to what the rooms are like in the main house, but also very nice with a beautiful bath and kitchen. The receptionist at check-in was so friendly and helpful.

The room I was in was very nice and big. The problem was that it was in a separate building behind the main mansion building. And I was on the street level. There was a door 5-feet from my bed that I thought was a closet door but was actually a door to the street. And New Orleans is noisy and has foot traffic all night. When I realized the situation, I was a bit shook up. I did not fall asleep until all the street activity and talking stopped around 3 am. I did not feel completely safe and was not the room I would stay in again. But the people in the main house were nice and friendly.

The hotel is beautiful, but the lack of soundproofing made sleeping a miserable experience. We were in the burgundy room closest to the front door, and we heard every conversation, door slam, and footstep of people coming and going all through the night. The property is fun since it is an old historic building, but that comes with its own quirks. Upon check-in with Jasmine, we were given one of the Napolean rooms, but it did not look like the one online. It was a very large room, but it did not have enough lighting from the light fixtures or from natural light either. The room was good enough for us, but we had bigger issues the next day without any hot water in the shower. The manager at that time, Emily, was the highlight of our stay at the Melrose mansion. She taught us how to open the front door, which we were not informed about when we checked in, and she was incredibly friendly, finding a solution to our lack of hot water. We were able to move rooms into a smaller room, the burgundy room, but this room had much better, lighting and hot water! Overall had a relatively good experience, but I would recommend trying to find the best room to stay in since it seems like each room has its own quirks. Also, depending on your room location, it is quieter based on where it is on the property from noise inside as well as outside (I recommend bringing earplugs and an eye mask). The hotel location was perfect for our needs and very walkable to the Mardi Gras parades and Frenchman Street.

Pros:the night security, Tori. She was lovely and helpful and gave us our room key when we checked in late. She toured us around and made sure we were comfortable and happy at check in. The second and only other pro is the breakfast that is served hot and delicious. The other staff are very inattentive and do not really want to help you. We stayed for 3 nights and we were told to put our “needs service” door hanger on the knob if we wanted our room freshened. On the 2nd morning of our stay, we put our “needs service” door hanger out and left by 10:00am and didn’t return back until 4:00pm. The room had not been touched. We had no towels, no soap. We ran into Brian and asked if service was still coming and he said that they had left for the day. We asked why our room wasn’t cleaned and he said, “I don’t know, they must have missed it.” How do you miss an entire room? He offered no remedy, no apology, just “I’ll get you towels”. We want the services we are paying for not just towels. The online reviews were mostly positive, and not representative of the stay we had. The area is sketchy, the security guard had an altercation with a homeless man outside our window in the pool area on our second night. We did not feel safe. Also the room was in disrepair. The bath faucet only trickled and everything was rusty, dirty and dilapidated. The ceiling had a mushroom growing Out of the ceiling over the bed.

Beautiful 1884 mansion, I called to request the Queen 5 cottage in back for privacy. It didn't disappoint, great A/C, fans, bed comfie, the bathtub a little hard to get out of, a grab bar would help. Emily is the BEST of the staff, went above and beyond! They all remembered our names, what room we were in and it was cleaned daily, a nice surprise and nice pool area! All the staff were friendly, we had waters, sodas & snacks available at all times! Also it is in a quiet residential neighborhood, away from noisy bars.

This hotel was amazing! From the time we checked in we were provided with the best customer service by Bryan. He was so attentive, funny and helpful and all around great guy. He provided us with some history of the hotel which was a beautiful old mansion that had been renovated and tips on restaurants in the area. He also provided us with little nice touches like satin pillowcases, free drinks, free parking and even provided a Dyson hair blower upon request. Bryan’s customer service was top notch which made the hotel an even more memorable experience for us. The room Bryan gave us was beautiful and the pool lovely after a long day in the heat. Thanks again for your help Bryan we will definitely be coming back and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The day shift staff was extremely inappropriate and was boasting about how they were the main person around there and if any problems came up to "just come to daddy" while in our hotel room with us and the door closed. We were also checked into the wrong room type, and when brought up, were told they couldn't do anything and that it was Expedias fault. If you want a chill place to stay, I would highly recommend that you look at different properties.

Loved it! It was a beautiful place with lots of history. It was in the perfect location with several dining spots in the area. Walking distance to the French Quarter but far enough away to be quiet at night. Staff was friendly and helpful. It would have been nice if the pool was heated and more of a breakfast selection. I would definitely stay here again.

Located next to the French Quarter. 5-7 minute walk to the craziness of Bourbon St., and the shopping areas around the French Market. Great restaurants in both areas. Not the most elegantly furnished hotel but definitely has a lot of historical charm to it.

This is an amazing place. It is in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Bourbon street is a couple blocks down then just a few blocks in. Frenchman street is a few blocks away. The market is so close. Jackson square about 10 blocks away. You can catch the cable cars at Frenchman street. Very safe neighborhood. Rooms are very large and comfortable.

The "continental breakfast" was pathetic - warm yogurt, one bowl of granola with a spoon (presumably to put on the yoghurt?) No bowls. Tiny, old muffins - sometimes- there were none the last day I was there. The office staff person was using very loud obscenities (on the phone, I hope) when I came downstairs on one occasion. Other customers were really noisy - shouting & slamming doors at all hours, as late as 3am. Wonderful shower! Large, comfortable room. Close to french quarter & busses. Helpful with getting me a cab to go to airport. Good coffee. Enjoyed the free sodas.

Very nice location! The room was big and pretty clean. They offered snacks and drinks in the room for free. Emily at the desk was AMAZING. She gave us some tips and advices. The only thing i would suggest is about the breakfast. I would have liked to have a bit of fruits and bread with a toaster. Thanks for the amazing stay!

The Melrose Mansion was a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed having complimentary snacks provided in my room. The property is more on the historic side so I wouldn't expect everything to look brand new. Our bed squeaked and the breakfast ran out of plates, coffee, and some of the food items for one morning we went down to eat. Staff was very friendly.

We had no hot water. Cold showers. No utensils or plates or glasses in kitchen. The breakfast ran out of plates half way through and we had to find someone who cleaned the dirty dishes while we waited. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The place just isn’t well managed.

Great location and easy walk for us to get around the French Quarter. I appreciated the staff reaching out before our arrival and being greeted very personally. Wonderful our room was ready for an early check in and that we were able to check out a little later due to our flight time. Continental breakfast was all you need to start the day and the coffee was excellent.

This place exceeded my expectations. I was looking to stay in a place alluding to the New Orleans period of history and I was not wrong. The mansion is in perfect condition. With space for breakfast, which in fact the breakfast was very good and super complete!!! The best we tried during our trip out of the 3 places we stayed. It had a gym, an area to do yoga, a pool which was a plus with the heat that it was, we arrived hot from walking and being able to cool off here was great. The staff was super attentive. We had snacks and water at our disposal. The guy who received us was super cool and by the way we thank him for suggesting us to eat at Muriels restaurant, he was not wrong. In general I give it a 10 out of 10 for everything. From the service to the amenities. I fell in love with the mansion and I hope if I return to this area to stay here again.

We were disappointed. The room was Spartan. The sink faucets merely dribbled. There was a light out in the bathroom and it wasn’t fixed after we mentioned it to the staff. The breakfast was poor - no napkins, late delivery, no knives, etc. Our room key didn’t open the front door. We wouldn’t stay here again despite the great location.
