We recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans and had a wonderful experience overall. I travel often and have always had great service however, this property was not up to their regular standards. Wait times were unusually long, staff was short tempered and this was the first time I've ever been charged to keep my room until after my spa appointment. Typically when you make an appointment within the facility they try to accommodate rather than charge a half day rate for a few extra hours. We also were not greeted upon check-in, struggled to find the front desk, there was no one help with our luggage, and I didn't see any bottled water even though it was very hot outside. Our spa day seemed rushed and my appointments were not back to back as booked.

The Ritz Carlton is an upscale hotel. The Service was excellent. It has multiple restaurants, in addition to in room dining. The in room dining is available 24 hours a day. There is a spa and workout facility. It’s located on Canal street, 2 blocks from Bourbon street.. Great location without all the noise.

Our bathroom was so dirty when we arrived and there were holes in the bedding. Housekeeping immediately came and fixed the issues but bummer that’s what we were welcomed by. Also we weren’t told there would be construction happening it was sooooo loud all day long.

Hotel put us in an upgraded club room, which was great - but the room next door was under construction! We ended up being moved to three other rooms because they kept moving up to smaller rooms. Once settled the club staff were amazing, the lounge had great music, and we were close to the quarter.

Our first day started off rough due to a miss when we checked in however Q quickly remieded it. The club level was outstanding as well as the food. Ken and Sunday were exceptional, all of the staff was. Our room was very comfortable and everytime i hit the bed i was out cold. The hotel is in the perfect location to everything invluding the street car to the garden district. The gym is more than ample except on thanksgiving it was a bit crowded. Mbistro on thanksgiving was a bit of a miss, next time i would pass on this. The food lacked flavor and the turkey was dry. The seafood was good. The only recommendations would be to offer additional milk options and be more informed on allergies. Once staff knew of my nut allergy they made sure they had the ingredients on hand for me to verify.

Great location and an easy walk to the river front and Bourbon Street. The Davenport Lounge was superb. We listened to Jeremy and his amazing band most nights. The staff were always friendly and helpful.

Checked in and noticed the room was dirty and there was one towel. Called twice the first night just the get more towels. Then every time housekeeping came - they left us with one towel.

From the moment that we arrived we were treated wonderfully. Every member of their staff was extremely friendly and polite. My only complaint was the noise (revving of cars) on Canal Street until all hours of the night. Was thankful that I brought my sound machine. But had to move it right next to my bed and turn it up as loud as it would go. And I could still somewhat hear the motorists. Not the hotel’s fault. I would just recommend that you ask for a room on the other side of the hall or a top floor (we were on the 5th)

We had 2 rooms the room with 2 king bed was so spacious and nice. The room with one king was upgraded also but very small. The shower drain didn’t work and our second day black water was coming out of it. The sink drain didn’t work well either. The entrance was confusing, there was not a big sign indicating the reception is on the third floor. The hotel looked a little tired and it needed a little remodeling.

Lovely restaurant, bar, Spa, courtyard. The staff was not at level it should be for a Ritz Carlton hotel. Our TV and room phone did not work properly, and it took them almost a day to address it properly. We made numerous phone calls and the staff said they would call us back each time, but they never did. Very sloppy and negligent.

The location is great. The housekeeping needs a lot of training (entering room without knocking, communication with a guest is non existent, toilet had "dirt" behind the bowl...) the check out expereince was bad (waited for more than 15 min, was not asked if we enjoyed our stay or if have any complaints). On the other hand, check in experience was great. This is the worst Ritz Carlton we stayed at because of the service we received. Definitly felt the lack of training, and we won't be staying here again.

My family and I had an amazing stay in The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. After an unfortunate mishap where we were unable to fly to Italy, we pivoted at the very last minute and decided to go to New Orleans. Kiara (sp?) at the front desk was so warm and welcoming. We told her about our situation and she immediately did everything she could to make us feel comfortable. She was so sweet. On our first evening she sent a bottle of champagne and a charcuterie board to our room, along with a hand written note! What a beautiful touch! Our daughters were also given delicious sweets in their room. The service we received from Kiara and the whole Ritz Carlton staff was exceptional! In addition to the great service, we also loved the restaurant and the lounge, including the incredible live music that they offered. The location couldn't be better. One side of the building opens directly into the French Quarter (without it being too close to all of the action on Bourbon Street to be too noisy) and the other side of the hotel lets you out onto the city side where you could shop and enjoy other restaurants. Needless to say, due in large part to the Ritz’s staff and incredible accommodations, our trip exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be returning to The Ritz-Carlton.

This stay began with problems at check-in as a novice receptionist had trouble finding my reservation and I could tell she was re-charging me for my pre-paid stay. I was assured, in kind of an abrupt way by her colleague that was not the case, but here is an the day after check out making many phone calls and still not seeing a resolution. After getting transferred several times, I’ve spoken to accounting who advised me I DID NOT have a prepaid reservation (despite my confirmation of same from hotels.com) and the hotel manager who said he would take care of it but three hours late has failed to send an updated folio. I asked at check out and was told they were papaerless, would email me and that all I owed was tax and tips at the breakfast restaurant. Not the case. The breakfast restaurant and the bellman were highlights. Good service, friendly staff, decent food. The property is clean and attractive. The front desk was a failure. I ran into an issue when my 16-year-old was without a key while I was on a college visit with another daughter and it was a struggle getting them to assist. The other huge problem was housekeeping. The level of service was so poor, you could barely tell there was service at all. I had a suite and asked for the pull-out to be opened at turn down and one night they half made it with no pillow or blanket and the second night they didn’t even bother. They replaced towels and that was all they ever did. None of the attention to details you’d expect.

Location was perfect, just a few minutes/blocks from Bourbon St. and the French Quarter. Also pretty close to the Central District (all walkable). I appreciate the extra security in the evening hours (need to scan your key to enter the building), because it can get a little rowdy at night in that area. The Davenport Lounge was lovely, and we enjoyed the live band while having a cocktail and dessert. Would likely stay again!

Hotel is very centrally located and perfect for both business and a romantic getaway. Have stayed there twice and would stay again. Close walk to Bourbon Street, but removed enough to not hear all the noise. Close to street car stops, for ease of getting to Garden District and other sights. The bar is a great place to finish the evening or night. The concierge is very helpful.
