Extended Stay America Suites - Wichita - East

The room was in rough condition and smelled weird. The bed frame moved just getting in and out of bed and the breakfast was only a muffin which should be stated in description.

I know they make it clear that there is no early check in - not even 30 minutes. But I tried anyway as we needed to have my daughter change for a softball tournament. They stuck to their policy and said no. But we arrived at check in time at 3:00 to find out their internet was down. While several of us stood around, another guest helped the clerk log into his hotspot and we got checked in by 3:30. The room we had was very clean and spacious. If I was there with spending any length of time - ie there for work - I would have felt right at home. The full size fridge was welcomed as we brought a lot of drinks and food with us since the breakfast is just grab and go. The one thing missing was an ice machine but extended stay people probably don’t need one. The exterior was rough in a couple places with large holes and yellow plastics around them that look like they had been there a while. We got back late one night and found a side door that would normally be secured by room key standing propped open.

Clean, comfortable, old. No amenities for kitchen provided unless asked for, and then it was based on availability. Had only two coffee pots for the entire hotel and no mugs.

Unfortunately, I will never stay at an Extended Stay America again due to very poor customer service. We booked through a third party, which is relevant later. We arrive from a cross country flight at 12:00 AM, and multiple unanswered calls to management from the service desk and probably 30 minutes later, the grumpy service desk employee tells me I can't check in because their Internet is down so they can't process my card. We had to go to 4 other hotels before anyone had availability and I paid an additional $120 to stay at a different hotel at 2:00 AM (2 hours after trying to check in at my scheduled hotel). When we phoned management and asked if they could take an ID, a photo copy of the ID and debit/credit card, or literally anything we own to be held at the desk so we could stay in the hotel and pay when internet was back up, the manager told us no and didn't offer even an apology or a discount on our stay a few days away (due to the extra $ we paid to the first hotel since Extended Stay America's Internet was the reason we had to change hotels), and the reasoning was because we booked through a third party. Honestly some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Not to mention, 2 of the 4 desk employees to assist us had an awful attitude to start, before we even had any issues! The room itself was fine, nothing spectacular.

The staff was extremely helpful and nice. My only concern was that there was NOTHING in the kitchen to use. No pots or pans, no silverware, no plates, no hotpads, no toaster, coffeemaker, or appliances, etc. It was completely empty accept for one small hand towel. I brought food that I could not prepare because there was nothing to warm it in or eat it on. Typically, kitchens come furnished, even if modestly. So I was lost as I did not want to go buy items I had at home. It is not reasonable to be expected to travel with kitchen supplies. When I asked about this, they said it had been there originally but was all stolen and they could not keep replacing the items. Maybe they could have a refundable charge and then the room checked upon checkout. But I don't know if they have staff for that either. Maybe items could be checked out at the desk. This is an issue, but other hotels do have items in the kitchen. Shame on the guests for stealing it!

I was very disappointed by the fact that there were no dishes, pots and pans or small appliances in this extended-stay facility. They required you to go back to the front desk and tell them what you wanted and then they would deliver those items. I thought this was ridiculous

No kitchen appliances provided and when asked if we could receive kitchen appliances I was told it depends on what they have in stock. I don’t like how we were made to believe we would have a fully stocked kitchen and we didn’t. And the “free” breakfast only included store bought muffins and granola bars

The breakfast was sub-par...if you're only going to give out a muffin in a paper bag, it should be advertised as such. We chose this hotel partly because it say breakfast was included.

Killed three bugs in our room. Ceiling falling in. Smelled of pot as well as multiple other terrible smells. Furniture filthy with stains as well as the fridge was so dirty. Feet turned black while walking on the floor.

This hotel is truly the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. We arrived at 1:30a to a room that had blood on our pillow, dog hair all over the floor, dried food stuck to the walls, counters and furniture, mud and dog hair in the blankets and sheets as well as a bathtub faucet that could not be turned off. We spend an hour changing the mattress cover and bed linens as well as trying to clean up dog hair and stuck on dried food. After all of that the hotel would not refund our money. Avoid this hotel!

The tub was dirty, window was filthy, hallway smelled like terrible towel in the room were dingy, some had hair in them, the Continental breakfast was a joke, the advertisement was misleading, nothing what I was expecting. Will not stay there.

It was quiet and clean

Staff members were friendly and kind. The shower is very confusing, so maybe let guests know beforehand. There were hand prints on the back of the headboard still. Maybe wipe them off too?

The 'Complimentary Breakfast' was nothing more than coffee and packaged muffins. The reviews posted about this property were quite contrary to the actual condition of this property. BEWARE.

Staff was nice. The property was not in the proximity it said it was. The room was not clean and the sheets were not changed from previous stay hair everywhere stained linen and dingy wash clothes. I had to change my own bed linen was told house keeping had already left at 3pm when i checked in. The hallway and room had a bad smell as well. AVOID THIS PROPERTY!

The room was clean, the staff was friendly but the bed was super uncomfortable and the pillows were the flattest cheapest most uncomfortable pillows I’ve ever used in my life. And when we asked for extras they said they didn’t have any. How could we use the pull out bed without extra linens?

Big rooms!

Wasn't a bad place to stay for the cost. Definitely worn down. Could use an interior Facelift. Exterior was pretty.

Really outdated, stained carpet. Feel like its not bad but for the price. But then the kitchenette makes the price more reasonable. Just wasn't impressed.

I expected average...i got less. Check in at 3..we were not there until 8pm. No room available as advertised. Staff did try to accommodate differently which was appreciated. 2 single rooms instead of suite. However. Ac not working, bed hard as concrete floor., i have back issues, so this was bad... floor was dusty and dead bugs on floor by end tables. Loud banging noises thru the night... overall not a good experience given that there was a marriott and comfort inn in walking distance.. stayed because close to ks heart hospital. Will definitely choose differently next time.

This hotel needs major updating. Plumbing and lighting are poor, carpet is worn and stained. Portions of walls are patched and not painted and wall color is deab and dated. A depressing appearance.

Loud, there was an 1” gap between the door and door frame so I heard everyone. Plus some big fight an disturbance in the middle of the night. The bed was hard. The shower was so gross I would not get in.

It was okay the rooms were a bit run down a remodeling would be great especially the carpet needs to go

Had some issues checking in. Got approval for 19 year old from Corporate while making the reservation. However when at the hotel, they questioned it. But after talking to a manager they did fix the issue right away. Other than that snaffu, the facility was nice and I would recommend.

Great stay staff was friendly and professional

When arrived staff was to busy attend to personal chat to bother helping customer. Get to room and have no glass of any kind for getting a drink.

It was an okay stay, When we got there they gave us a key to someone else’s room , the overall smell wasn’t the best but it was manageable. The towels looked like they were dirty but i think they were stains that couldn’t come out. I rate this a 5/10

Friendly staff, not too crazy about grab and go breakfast, hot break is preferred. Rooms are showing its age. one of our party had to switch rooms because of water was dripping from ceiling, our room's shower curtain needs fixing, but the overall friendly staff made it a bit better.

staff was rude didn't know what they were doing took 40 min to check in because she couldn't figure it out, no handicap rooms & no rooms with 2 beds had to sleep on couch!!!

Stayed at this hotel again, conveniently located just off 54/400. Price and service just right for a good night of sleep. I like the refrigerator and microwave in every room! Very clean.

It was very quiet and and i had plenty of rest than i ormaly do staying any where else.

Quick stay. Staff were friendly and convenient to shopping and dining (consider you can get to most places within 10-15 drive).

Waite 10 minutes for someone to appear at front desk. Felt that the area has safety problems.

Needing a brief place to stay on the east side cheaply? This is your place. Seems to be in the midst of a remodel. Can only hope that runs into the guest rooms as well.

Comfortable mattress, attentive and friendly staff, very convenient location. I would have liked little more breakfast options but for the price I cannot complain. Will stay there again.

Not too expensive, staff was great, location is good. Pillows were kind of bad, the blanket was too thin, the toilet didn't flush very well or easily.
