Really nice and clean!!! Just be prepared if you vallet park. At AM checkout you could wait a while For your car with everyone else.

We decided to introduce our teenage grandson to Chicago, so either needed two rooms, or a different arrangement that would allow everyone privacy. The Sonesta fulfilled that in spades. We had a huge room with a bedroom, a big living room, a kitchen area, plenty of closet space and 750 ft.², in a very good location on the Miracle Mile and with breakfast thrown in, and topped off by a price market three cheaper than anything else around. All good so far so there has to be a couple of catches. First was the elevator situation. This obviously had been an apartment building before becoming a hotel, and perhaps two elevators was adequate for a building with apartment, but not really so for a 19 story hotel with many guests, many of them had kids with them. Our room was on the sixth floor and by the time a downward going elevator would actually have room, we could be waiting 20 minutes at times. A better philosophy, depending on the time of the day was to take the elevator Up and write it to the roof, then write it all the way down. (this happened about 25% of the time). We also don’t mind walking, but after walking down six flights of stairs, having tired of waiting for a down elevator, somewhat bizarrely, there are no stairs that go to the lobby at all, and when you get to the bottom or confronted by a door that says an alarm will go off, so we are forced to go back upand wait even longer for a down elevator. Check with the front desk, we were told that that indeed was the case –

We only stayed one night and it was great! The only complaint I have is there is a $70 valet parking charge that isn’t mentioned anywhere before check-in and there’s not another parking option. Otherwise, everything else was great.

We enjoyed our stay. The only issues we faced were not having bedding for our hide-a-bed in the room and we had to call the front desk and it took awhile for it to come. Also, the elevator situation is less than ideal. VERY long waits for the elevator when wanting to go down to the lobby. We tried taking the stairway but there is not a way to get to the lobby and the doors are locked at the bottom of the stairwell which was kind of freaky. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, the staff, and the room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! We would stay here again, however, the elevators could be a deal breaker when deciding on our where to stay for our next visit.

Everything we needed for a 1 night trip! Teeny tiny elevators though is probably the biggest thing to note.

Property was in a nice area downtown, served breakfast and had a clean lobby. I didnt like their valet system. They were often late bringing the car and some times forgot about my request for my car. This made me late to many of my reservations! Valet is also expensive! $70 a night! My room was nice and spacious and had a great view!

Loved this place! My only complaint is that the elevators are super full at certain times in the day, and sometimes it would take upwards of 20 minutes to finally get into an open elevator.

Very nice property in a nice neighborhood. Only con was the elevators, only 2 in the building with stairs only having access to outside and not downstairs. Breakfast rush is often a long wait for an available elevator. Otherwise excellent locations and stay

The $ 70.00 overnight parking fee was a little much!

Hotel is clean and quiet and well appointed. The staff is helpful. The breakfast is good and well made. It would be awesome if the hotel would re-open the bar area in the evenings in case we wanted easy cocktails.

I sadly have to say that I was extremely disappointed by the cleanliness and appearance of our room. The reviews were excellent and the information boasted “newly remodeled rooms”. There was hair in the bathroom, all types if you catch my drift, the “remodel” was just paint covering old walls and doors. The kitchen area was new and had everything we needed, however the stove had hair on it. There were no sheets for the fold out couch, luckily we brought our own. The 2 small elevators caused quite the wait time and we actually got stuck in it for over a minute. We were about to call for help before it started up again. The staff was wonderful, extremely kind! The free breakfast was delicious and they mixed it up a little each morning. I would stay here again if it cost me half the price. I feel a bit sick to my stomach knowing how much I paid for our room.

We checked in one of the suites. Upon arrival the bathroom floors was covered in hair. As if no one had ever cleaned it. In the bedroom we pulled back the sheets to make sure they were clean and there was more hair on top of the top sheet. There wasn’t a fitted sheet on the bed either. Just a comforter and an ill fitting top sheet. We contacted the front desk to see if we could get another room. We were told they were all sold out but that housekeeping would be there to clean the room. They cleaned the room and provided new sheets/comforter for the bed. The overall stay wasn’t bad after that. The staff was nice and helpful. Just really started off bad with all that dang hair on the floor and in the bathtub. I wanted them to also mop the floors because it appears that they haven’t been mop in a while. But just let it slide and wore house shoes the entire time.

Friendly service and very clean!

It was nice but he dish washer was dirty and there was no detergent to use with it, and there was dust and trash behind every dresser. There were crumbs in the bed and for the price per night and parking you would of thought it would have been better. Breakfast was ok and I liked the restaurant like area to sit down and eat at.

The best thing for me was how clean the property was. Usually no matter how nice the hotel I still feel kind of weird because I always find something that wasn’t cleaned properly. NOT THIS TIME! Even the sheets smelled like fresh linen instead of that hospital linen smell. I was pleasantly surprised. Will stay here again soon.

The staff was friendly and very helpful, the room and amenities were nice, the only problem for me was that the bathroom floor was dirty with a lot of hair everywhere. Otherwise everything was ok, breakfast was pretty good.

Yes - room was very clean and staff was really nice and accommodating.

The parking is not free like the advertisement states. You have to valet. The shower covered in someone else’s hair. The water pressure was terrible and the water was either freezing cold or scalding hot that was it no in between.

I like the 2 bedrooms just wish each had a bathroom.

Very roomy suite. Full kitchen. Two large screen TVs. Great wifi. Free breakfasts. Great location.

I loved room! It was spacious and the temperature was perfect for us! The bed was the best part because it was so soft and I had the best sleep on it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Clean and well maintained suite with kitchenette, refrigerator/freezer, microwave and coffee maker. Super plush bed and linens. Friendly, courteous staff. I was surprised to find such a nice hotel in this price point so close to the Magnificent Mile and the Lakefront. I will definitely consider staying here again on a future visit to Chicago

Nice rooms for the price! Very spacious. Only complaint was that the shower door doesn’t seal so it leaks all over the bathroom floor every time we shower and there’s nowhere for it to drain. Included breakfast was better than other hotels we’ve stayed at for similar pricing

Room was spacious for a family, clean and quiet. Staff are nice. Free Breakfast was great esp the room was spacious, lots of tables to eat on. Coffee, Tea and hot cocoa available all day. Room key activates the elevator and only the floor you stay on, so Great for security. Nice Big TVs in the living room AND in the bedroom. Wifi works great.

We loved that we we had 2 separate bedrooms for everyone in our group in one hotel room. And all for a reasonable price. Breakfast was very good. Great extra perk! Great location.

Check in was smooth as well as check out ! Front desk concierges were so helpful and friendly.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, we were a group of four families and we all agree we DO NOT recommend staying here. First the not bad… the rooms are ok, being suites, they have a little fridge, stovetop and are relatively good rooms. The location is great, walkable distance from Chicago’s main attractions. The bad… the service is terrible, all the staff seem to be in a hurry and they’re clearly are understaffed. Perhaps because of this they are also in a bad mood, but we barely got a smile from main desk, kitchen o elsewhere. The hotel announces they have cribs available, don’t trust that… we traveled with 2 babies and since like 2 months before asked for cribs and they told us they have some but on a first come first serve basis… you guessed, not even one crib for our group. Another terrible thing that happened to us: we had a very sad personal thing happen in the family while we were there, some of our friends send us gifts as a surprise and they were delivered in the front desk but they never told us about it and then the next day they told us they had thrown them away because they thought it was food and they throw that if it stays overnight 😤 Even though it’s supposed to be a hotel, they do not clean the from while you’re staying there unless it’s for more than 5 nights, so the trash accumulated, there were bad smells and we were supposed to clean our own room for our entire stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!! Every single member of the staff was so polite and hospitable- from front desk to dining to housekeeping. The unit was so spacious and had everything I needed for a month-long stay. And you can’t beat the location!

I showed up early (1.5 hrs) and checked in. It was not until I got home that I checked my email and was charged for an early check in. Nobody mentioned anything about this nor have I ever been charged for an early check in. It wasn’t mentioned on my checkout either and I was not offered a printed invoice. I feel this was very underhanded. Terrible PR

The front desk staff was warm and welcoming - also at checkout the next day. I needed different pillows and they were very quick to bring up what they had. Every interaction with the staff was very pleasant. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

All of the staff were incredibly friendly especially Lamar at the front desk. He greated us by our name each time he saw us. The rooms were spacious and clean. Amazing lake view. Simple breakfast but it's what we expected. Meat (bacon or sausage depending on the day), scrambled eggs, potatoes, bread, english muffins, bagels, yogurt, granola and juice. Traveled with a group of friends and they all seemed pleased with their rooms and the service from the staff. Would recommended this hotel to others.

The property was great — clean, with spacious rooms. Check-in was very easy and convenient. I also appreciated the cool mini convenience store onsite for picking up items. The valet service was excellent — very convenient and always readily available to get your car. The only downside was the breakfast. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining, especially since it was complimentary, but it wasn’t as advertised. It wasn’t labeled as a continental breakfast, yet the buffet was very limited — mainly just bread, eggs, sausage, and maybe some bagels. When I asked about fruit or yogurt or cereal, they weren’t brought out, and we had to leave before anything was restocked. Additionally, the drink machine ran out of apple juice, and the staff didn’t seem to notice or replace it. A lot of food items ran out and weren’t replenished, which made the breakfast experience underwhelming. I understand it might have been due to a larger crowd from a concert or event, but I’d recommend having staff consistently monitor the buffet to keep items stocked. That said, I really appreciated the complimentary coffee that was always available, and I would definitely stay at this hotel again. These are just a few suggestions for improving the guest experience.

Everything was great except for food. Eggs overcooked, sausage patties rubbery, and coffee container empty often. Room was great. Service was also great. Just work on your food.

I’ve never had a better hotel experience in Chicago. The room was spacious, the bedding comfortable, the service was impeccable. It is within walking distance to the stores on Michigan Ave. Breakfast always had a great selection - a great start to the day!
