Evidently the fitness center and pool were closed for renovations on the 4th floor. Expedia did not communicate this to guests, which was disappointing. We booked the hotel for these amenities and ended up spending hundreds of dollars extra on entertainment and transportation to keep our family occupied during our planned down time. It was quite frustrating. Other than that, the staff here was helpful and friendly. The rooms and property was clean (except the 3rd floor). Dust was evident on the furniture and floor due to construction and this is where they housed the temporary fitness center (5 pieces of cardio and one set of weights). We would stay here again if the pool and fitness center were working. The area was safe and quiet. The room was large enough for our family of four to have space.

They charge $85 for valet in which the valet takes an hour to arrive once you call it also valet is a full block away from the hotel While I was there, lobby window was shot out Hotels under construction and they do not care if you were uncomfortable

The room was great, spacious and clean. The hotel was under construction and it was very difficult to locate the entrance and front desk. Had I known the pool and hot tub were closed, I would have booked elsewhere. The hotel employees were kind and attentive, no issues there. Parking was impossible, but it’s downtown Chicago. Overall, clean room and felt safe.

Was not aware of the construction going on so was confused on where to go and how to check in. The reason we picked this place too was for my kids to be able to swim. The pictures of the pool are exaggerated because it was so tiny and barely any room to swim. The hotel room itself was nice, and beds were comfy.

If you want to stay on magnificent mile then this is a decent choice. A few things I think people should know -They do charge a $25 a day resort fee, you get $15 credit for the bar/restaurant but it is very expensive. The pool and hot tub are very small. There is no free Continental breakfast. The rooms are very dark, we had a small window that faced another hotel so we almost never saw sunlight in our room. Lastly the hotel is right beside the hospital so you do hear sirens.

The premium bedding was very nice however the beds themselves were terrible and both myself and my friend were very uncomfortable. The restaurant had deliocus food and the waiter was friendly. The pool and spa where incredible dirty and had brown bubbles in the spa. The gym was superior for a hotel.

The reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because of the pool and hot tub. The pool is very small so it’s not much fun for older children and adults.. it gets crowded fast because of how small it is. not very clean (there was dirt gathered at the bottom of the hot tub and dirt crud gathered at the top of the bubbles)… I was mostly looking forward to spending time doing some laps and relaxing in the hot tub and between the dirt and grime and overcrowding.. it wasn’t very relaxing at all. The workout room was GREAT! I enjoyed my workouts in there. The restaurant is very good. I enjoyed the dinner I ordered as well as the dessert. I ordered the veggie omelette for breakfast and it was very good. Coffee was also amazing! Service was Excellent from the front desk to the wait staff. The actual room was clean and comfortable. Would’ve gotten 5 stars if it weren’t for the pool.

The good thing about this hotel is that it is located near Northwestern Hospital so it is convenient for patients. What I didn't like about the hotel was that it wasn't clean. The door was filthy and the bathroom had hair in the shower.

I loved the inside of our room! I thought it was very modern and nice. However, we got a city view and it was literally a brick wall view. We were very tired when we got to the hotel and just wanted to rest when there was sand in my bed?? Wasn’t properly cleaned :(. Had some problems with the hotel phone working as well and there was an alarm set on the alarm clock that woke us up. :/

No wifi connection. No breakfast. Only 1 card for the room. Charged extra fees even paying for them before (during reservation). We went for the Chicago Marathon and had a really bad experience. Unfortunatelly. We have already stayed at RIU PLAZA - CHEAPER AND MUCH BETTER!

We were on the 17th floor and the traffic noise sounded like we were on the ground floor with the windows open, and we could hear every sound in the hallway and adjoining rooms. The shower was disappointing, just a standard bathtub like you would expect in a much cheaper hotel. Was very clean, and close to everything. It was really cold when we were there, but in better weather it’s a very walkable area.

My recent stay at the Hyatt Centric was quite enjoyable. I had a spacious deluxe corner room filled with natural light. However, when we opened the blinds on the right side, we discovered that we could see directly into the hospital rooms next door, so we decided to keep those closed. Throughout my stay, we did hear the occasional blaring ambulance passing by, both day and night. Something to note is that if you arrive a couple of hours early, they can store your luggage for you until your room is ready, giving you time to explore the city! Although the pool, hot tub, and standard gym were closed for construction until March, they provided a partial gym within the building and free access to another hotel's gym. Overall, I would definitely consider staying at the Hyatt Centric again in the future; the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which I truly appreciated!

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Was very pleased to see they have remodeled the rooms. Had an issue with a noisy neighbor the first night of our stay and the manager, Debbie, was wonderful and accommodating. She moved us to a new room and upgraded the room free of charge. Customer service was outstanding and rooms are now brand new. Bed was comfortable as well. Great location. One block off Michigan Avenue.

Booked a high floor. No rooms available on when checked in. It was my son's birthday and he wanted a high floor. 30 mins later was offered 12th floor. Couldnt give us a time on when high floor would be available. Then when i insisted, gave us a room on 15th floor. Not friendly. No apologies. Just poor customer service overall on checkin. And the manager was there as well. More upset about the lack of acknowledgement / trying to help than anything else.

The room right next to us was so loud and blasting the music at night. We had to call a couple times. Also when we moved out and used the lobby restroom at the last moment, my child left her AirPods in one of the restrooms. We called after a couple hours and it was never recovered. I would expect better standards at an upscale hotel.

Debbie at the front desk offered a very warm and friendly welcome and provided all of the information we needed to jumpstart our stay. We ate one dinner and a breakfast at the hotel during our stay and found the food service staff very kind and efficient. The food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely choose this location for a stay in Chicago again!

Location was very good. We had an issue with the room next to us having a party, it was handled immediately. The Manager on duty 3/27 was WONDERFUL - we arrived at about 2 am and he was great. The food at the restaurant was excellent, but there were very few options. They do not answer the phone for in room dining. Also, one of the bartenders was incredibly rude to a guest and said 'You are asking for too much for free' as the guest walked away when a guest had asked for some silverware butter and salt (the guest clearly had takeout).

The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, and overall accommodation was good. Our check-in was not good. We arrived about 25 minutes before check-in and we’re told the room was clean, but they were waiting for a supervisor to sign off on it. We asked if we could use the pool or anything while we waited and they said no. After waiting for an hour, I asked about the status of our room and was told she could expedite the cleaning for our room. It was supposedly clean an hour ago. We got our room keys close to an hour after check-in. We went to use the pool and it was very crowded each time so we didn’t end up using it. This was one of the reasons we selected this hotel. It was a frustrating experience and I won’t be back. There are plenty of options in the area.

This hotel is conveniently located one block of the Mag mile. Really close to shopping and dinning options. The pier is an easy walk as well. The room was clean and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy as was valet parking. Is definitely an option to stay again the next time we go to Chicago.

I was outraged to pay over $60 for a room service cesaer salad with chicken and it SUCKED. Limp, dark, slimy lettuce, way too much dressing with a pathetic piece of chicken on a separate plate floating in what I think was butter?? AWFUL. Shameful.

Room was very clean. Staff was very courteous and professional. Nice hotel. Only real issue was the $15 hot chocolate/dessert bar. Really? $15 because the Festival of Lights Parade was going on? For what is charged for the stupid "resort" fees, and what the "hot chocolate bar" was, that should have been comped.

The deluxe room we stayed in had plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. The bathroom was huge, but slippers or socks were warranted because the marble floor was painfully cold (we stayed in December; maybe the marble floor is comfortably cold in July). The restaurant had very good food and convenient hours for breakfast and dinner. There was no lunch option. The staff was very accommodating.

Overall we had a great stay. Very clean, rooms were beautiful, gym was big and really nice. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and nice. Lobby was very nice and cozy. Only complaints were parking was VERY expensive ($90/night), and the breakfast/room service were quite expensive too. That being said, our room service food was very tasty and we were given large portions. Literal perfect location 1 block from Michigan Ave. Would stay again!

We loved staying at the Hyatt Centric. The staff are always nice and pleasant and check in is a breeze. The breakfast is excellent and the waitresses that served us over 3 years ago remembered us on our visit this time. That's a incredible! We stay at this hotel for the Christmas holidays and it's always a great stay! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The central location of the Hyatt Centric Magnificent Mile Chicago was perfect for being close to my professional conference. It was also very close to multiple attractions. The service was top notch from check in, housekeeping, the bar and restaurant. I ate my dinner in the Hotel Both nights and thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Both were excellent in freshness and flavor as well as portion size. The Happy Hour at the bar was a Plus! I will certainly stay at the Hyatt Centric Magnificent Mile Chicago in the future!

Great hotel! The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5 is that it was advertised that it offered 24-hour room service. (One of the reasons we chose it.) Room service ended at 11pm and closed for lunch hours. If you don’t care about that, this is a great hotel ... close to everything!
