Great overnight stop with the most friendly and helpful of staff. Facilities excellent and being able to bring our dog was so good. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast options were just right for us. Will definitely stay again. The price was also the best value for money you could ask for. Could not recommend more.

Room was very clean and comfortable, staff were super friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I was able to charge my car overnight with a full charge for £15.00. There was an initial issue finding our booking so we had to wait a little while to check in. There is custom firmware on the TV so if you want to stream from any apps bring a fire stick or something similar. Really rate this hotel will definitely stay here again.

Great free parking. You just give your car registration when you check in. Good size room. I stayed in a twin accessible room for my mums benefit. We ate breakfast one morning which had sufficient continental choice and had a pizza one evening too which was very tasty. I stayed here to go to Beamish and Durham.

Very nice, clean and freshly refurbished. Based in a motorway services so aimed at business stays and travellers. There is a bar and a small menu offering hot food, breakfast and pizzas ect. Smart TV in the room that you can connect your phone to and watch your own streaming services. A/C in the room seemed to work well. My only one complaint was I was put in the room right next to the corridor door that closed with a bang, needs adjusting just so it cushion closes, had to put my ear plugs in.

Cannot fault our stay at super 8. Rooms clean with everything you would need for a short stay. Beds comfortable with lots of space. Breakfast and bar well stocked. Will stay again, as excellent base when visiting family in the area with great amenities around as well

This place as been revamped to a high standard. The rooms are very nice with top quality fixtures and fittings. We both slept really well and there was no noise to wake us even though we were close by the motorway. Plenty of free parking and charging our electric car overnight was only £15 for a full charge from empty. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was help-yourself continental for under £9 and there was a reasonable choice of good quality things on offer. Would definitely choose this well placed hotel again and recommend this competitively priced chain again

Having moved from another local hotel after an unpleasant experience, I was very pleased with this property. Modern, clean and spacious. The staff were all INCREDIBLE! Everyone that I encountered was lovely to deal with and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. The only reason that I awarded 4 and not 5 stars is because the condensation in the windows was draining onto the floor, wetting the carpet and resulting in a musty smell in the room. Maintenance acted quickly though and moved us to a different room where it wasn’t as prominent. Issue seems to be properly wide so will need some remediation.

Room was in good condition, water pressure was fine. Car park was large and next to a service station, a Costa and a McDonalds. The hotel was part of services for the A1(M) road, so it was quick and easy to continue our journey in the morning. It was a short drive into Durham for sight-seeing.

Lovely spacious clean rooms, love the added privacy of the family toom have a separate 'room' with the additional beds in, had some issues using the smart functions on the tv as it wouldnt connect meaning i couldn't stream but still had access to regular prohraming so not the end of the world, and the heatint/copling system very welcome and impressive was a little confusing for me so a how to for idiots like me would be handy!

Very nice hotel. Immaculately clean. Perfect stopover for a long trip up to Scotland. It’s a shame they don’t offer room service as we like to eat once we have put our child to sleep but then we obviously cannot leave the room as a couple. There was also persistent banging from below us. I imagine it was the main doors to the foyer. But it did seem to happen constantly throughout the night. Which wasn’t ideal But i understand it is a service station hotel and people will be coming and going at all different times

Hotel staff were all excellent, particularly Emma the site manager who helped us when we had a problem with a car charger. The building felt new and well looked after, the room was well appointed and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

Amazing for money. Shops close by and an outlet. Food was amazing. Shame the staff don’t go above and beyond to help open the door when they see you struggling with a kid and bags ( this happened on more than once) apart from that 5/5!!!

I did a last minute booking as I was kicked out from the other inn having they over sold their rooms. Since the late booking, it hasn’t gone through the system, there was a trouble in checking in. Luckily, a male college join in later and helped me to sort out the issue and finally I got a room to stay!

A word of warning about checking in with the night staff... Upon arrival at the hotel I was asked to pay for the room. I was fairly certain I had already paid, but when I said as much I was told in a condescending tone that there was no card on file and I would have to pay. Being non-confrontational, I paid, and then checked my emails and bank statement when I got to the room. I had been correct, I had already paid, so I went downstairs to try to get a refund for the amount I had just overpaid. The conversation went as such: Me: "I can show you right here a reciept to show that I've paid." Them: "I can show you right here that there is no other card on file", in a mocking tone. I was told that they couldn't issue a refund and I'd have to wait to see a manager in the morning. After a terrible night's sleep thinking about the confrontation and worrying about getting my money back, I went down to the desk and the manager had already issued a refund as soon as she got in. I am grateful for this, and this is the reason they have two stars not one. The hotel itself is perfectly adequate. I suspect this was an issue with having booked through hotels.com, and there could have been a genuine problem with no card on file. What I am unhappy about is the way I was spoken to by the night staff. Don't let this put you off, just come prepared for check-in.

I had a nice stay. Clean and comfortable room. Continental breakfast could be improved on to include fresly cut fruit, cold meats and more variety of yoghurts (for those who do not eat carbohydrates- bread and cereals). Lowrie at the reception desk was excellent! Very helpful and courteous. She sorted out my late check out request as I couldn't do it online.

We found the property easily as it is smack bang on the A1(M) and we came up from London and arrived at Midnight. It was dead easy to access the property and get quickly into bed. The breakfast is lovely, simple and straightforward but it is like a motel and there was a lot of choice really, coffee lovely, amazing how modern business expects the receptionist to do that job plus everything else. However they were so helpful and efficient. The place is SUPERB. We may have contractors coming up before Christmas and we will recommend they stay with you. BEAUTIFULLY WARM ESPECIALLY AS WE GET NEAR WINTER.

Booked Super 8 as I was travelling over to work in the area. Nice clean room, super comfy bed, warm powerful shower and a Tv you can cast Netflix/prime etc to….what more do you need. As it’s a motorway services understandably it’s not got much round it. But it was nice and quiet in the rooms with no noise from the motorway. I didn’t eat in but the pizzas look good and there is a breakfast option. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the place was clean and tidy. Obviously there is ample parking and a WHSmiths and McDonald’s next door if needed. Would definitely recommend. I stayed for four nights and was more than happy

Really excellent motel. Had a double room with king-size bed even had a sofa. Room was spacious, modern and very clean. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Continental breakfast was good but it you want bacon or sausage bap it was £2 extra but very nice. Overall highly recommend.
