Not a great experience. We checked in and were informed that the elevator was not working and our room was on the 2nd floor. I'm a senior 70-years-old and had to drag suitcases up and down the stairs! Also our room had a bad musty smell. Construction by the pool too - very loud grinding and drilling sounds on the metal fence by the pool.

Upon our arrival the outside temperature was 118, but relief was quick as we entered the cool, clean, and inviting atmosphere of the entry lobby. The front desk host was already approaching as we walked up, and we were checked in with keys in hand promptly and curtiously, and were relaxing in our clean,well appointed room within minutes. The included breakfast at most budget based hotel chains have degraded over time to a paultry selection of un-appitizing cardboard, but the quality and selection at this hotel was pleasingly good, coffe was good, the staff kept the food fresh and clean, and were pleasant and helpfull when asked for information or assisance.

Great staff and location was good for work. Felt safe. Bed and pillows super comfy. Hot and cold shower dial was backwards took a minute to figure out. Carpet looked dirty and a couple of my towels had stains though they were clean. They have a 24 hr area to purchase snacks and Monday Wednesday 5pm-7pm they have express hour which was was hot dogs chips nachos chilli and beer wine soda. Nice little perk when youre too tired after work to figure out dinner.

Our room (2 queens) was satisfactory. It was not quite completed. There was no wardrobe to hang our jackets and dresses. There was no light by the couch and the bathroom did not have towel racks on the wall. The bed, pillows and shower were very good.

Ran out of drinks for happy hour. Was not expecting free drinks and/or snacks but if you hand out a voucher and state that each guest gets two drinks, then you should probably be sure to have enough. Had the same brands for sale twenty feet away! No worries, will always stay their when I am in El Centro for business.
