It needs parking for guests, I got a ticket parked in the front overnight and in the morning just a few minutes before I got my car I found a ticket. Paying the $45 was painful.

The front desk staff was really nice and accommodating. I didn't prefer to park on the street but that was all they had which worked out. The property was clean in all areas. I would stay again.

Place is a joke. Postage stamp size room cramped even for one person. No refrigerator despite what the website says. No full length mirror. Certainly don't expect room service at this 'hotel'; barely bare minimum. Horrible local area. Streets stinking of urine loaded with roaming homeless people. NO parking. Good luck.

I’ve stayed at this property twice and had a great experience both times. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Pilar who was super helpful my last stay. The rooms are spacious clean. The train is nearby along with lots of restaurants and shopping. They even have a outdoor space to relax.

Property is actually in very nice shape. Very clean and safe.. outside is another thing. This is nothing against the hotel.. they are where they are. Comming back from a concert in MSG it was a fast walk from the metro to the hotel. And it was a scary walk… Another good thing was there is a parking lot right accrossnyhe street that has 24/7 security so I felt safe leaving my car there.

I had a wonderful stay at the Melrose. The staff were very personable and helpful. They have a great little lounge on the second floor as I arrived early and was able to wait there for my room. It's pretty close to the metro on 3rd. There's a great nail salon next door as well. Really very few or no cabs in the area if you need unless you call. My room was clean, spacious, came with a mini refer and microwave and was very quiet. I would definitely recommend.

Run don’t walk away from this hotel, the neighbourhood is dangerous the hotel is dirty. We had a cockroach in our room and when they moved us the next room was filthy. The domestic staff left our door open after they had “cleaned” nothing was taken thank goodness. If you are still in the period to cancel without loosing money cancel and stay in Manhattan it will be worth to feel safe and enjoy your time in New York.

I recently gave this place 5 stars because it had just opened and was so clean and professional. It was so nice, I ended up booking the following week. This time was different. Bathroom floor was covered in hair and makeup and there was soap scum on the bath tub walls. Also, don’t leave anything on the bed or the cleaning staff WILL NOT service it. Also, make sure the trash is in or very near the trash because they will not throw it away, even if it’s clearly trash. It’s their policy but they don’t explain that at check-in. So for my three nights, I only had one with a fully clean room. One front counter lady is the nicest ever. There’s another lady with a “I don’t really care” attitude and I’m not the only one who noticed. Hopefully they will improve because I really liked this place.

For the area this is in, it is very peaceful and quet. Never expected a nice hotel like this in an area like that. The room was small but had everything you needed which was great. The AC was built in the upper walls which I love instead of the window and it blowing on you. Something very minor was the pillows and blankets which is a simple fix. Definitely need thickers and fluffy pillows and more blankets. Other than that everything was perfect.

Exceptional room, outside of some debris behind the door (it looked like dust pan contents). Updated, otherwise clean, comfortable. One of few rooms I've stayed in that has extra blankets and the bed was very comfortable. It was, however, the only place I've stayed where there was no safety mechanism on the door (only the one standard lock), which I hated. It's in a rough spot so this is entirely necessary. The two guys at reception were friendly, professional amd helpful.

Comfy room. Quiet, even in the Bronx. Hotel staff friendly and helpful (thank you Jessica!) Close to subway, Dunkin, McDs, and a grocery market. We got back on our last night on the subway and the street was a little dark but the hotel was close.

The staff was friendly every day! There were so many options for shopping and eating! The streets were normal New York streets (begging, urine smell, loud). If you don’t mind that then you will be fine! We found that it was super convenient to ride the subway from our location! It was about a 3 min walk to the subway!

I really liked it and have no complains. However, if you book this Hotel you need to know that you will be right in the Bronx. The Hotel itself is amazing, very new and clean and the Serivce is great too. If you step outside tho there is a whole different environment (Dirty and a lot of homeless and drugaddicted people). I never felt unsafe tho, and the supermarket right infront the Hotel is great too.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is well maintained and clean. Lots of restaurants and shops around with chose access to the metro station. The area around the hotel is a bit messy and dirty but we didn't feel it was unsafe. If we go back in that area we'll definitely stay there again.

This was close to the venue I attended in the Bronx It was clean a variety of foods Dunkin’ Donuts Burger King lMexican,Chinese and bodega. You have to beware of where you’re at. This was close to the venue I attended in the Bronx It was clean a variety of foods Dunkin’ Donuts Burger King lMexican,Chinese and bodega. You have to beware of where you’re at. The inside of the hotel was nice and the staff was top notch. Would have been nice to have at least a continental breakfast. The location of the hotel was very poor but I realize the staff can’t do anything about that. I probably would not stay again bc of the location. Sorry.

It’s a nice property in a transitional neighborhood . Staff could not be nicer. Transportation to Manhattan is a few blocks away. It’s a very good place for the price. Don’t forget that this is the South Bronx. There are good less expensive Caribbean etc restaurants.It is worth a try. It’s also spotless and a relatively recent renovation.

Our room was very small, but I expect that in New York. My boyfriend complained that the area we stayed in was dirty (the Bronx), but again, I expect that in New York. The Bronx actually reminds me of downtown Memphis, so I felt at home. The hotel stay was nice and it was surprisingly quiet there. The subway train is a short walk away. Also, I had the absolute best breakfast I’ve ever had at this place nearby called Cafe Royale. Thanks to the Melrose staff for making our first big trip amazing.

Comfy room. Quiet, even in the Bronx. Hotel staff friendly and helpful (thank you Jessica!) Close to subway, Dunkin, McDs, and a grocery market. We got back on our last night on the subway and the street was a little dark but the hotel was close.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is well maintained and clean. Lots of restaurants and shops around with chose access to the metro station. The area around the hotel is a bit messy and dirty but we didn't feel it was unsafe. If we go back in that area we'll definitely stay there again.

The air conditioning worked very well, so the room was always cool. The bathroom for the room we stayed in had poor ventilation, and upon first time entering the bathroom it smelled of mildew. The room iself was clean upon entry, however whenever room service came it was apparent that they did not clean anything, just made the beds, this very apparent as the bathroom and bedroom tiles/floor felt grimey and did not look seeped or mopped. For the price, the location, and the amazing AC, it was a good deal. The location had amazing access to the subway, various deli's, markets and other shops. The staff was very friendly and nice to interact with! Would stay again, however, the amenities listed here absolutely do not reflect those offered at the hotel.
