This hotel is in a great location - just slightly off the beaten track. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was decent enough but had a wonderful view from the balcony. Only slight downside is a lack of facilities - no on site bar, or even any reception toilets. Overall, well recommended.

Ideally situated for a weekend break - staff all very helpful - hotel about 15 mins walk from the Rialto bridge - easy access to restaurants and shops. Room modern ( no lift access) - breakfast you have to book a time slot as limited dining spaces.

Great boutique hotel, friendly knowledgeable staff. Clean, full of character and easy to get to (well, as good as it gets in Venice!) without being too close to the hustle bustle. This is a period property. Be aware there is no lift, but staff are happy to help with luggage. Breakfast was pleasant, but limited. Do read reviews of Venice in general to be aware of the ‘tourist traps’.

Booked a junior suite as we wanted a larger room given that our planned stay was 5 nights - initially allocated room 206 which, while included in the junior suites, really should not be marketed as such. It has been squeezed into a small room by creating a mezzanine level for the bed with the bathroom "downstairs". It is cramped, there is barely any room to get around the bed, there is no drawer space to store clothes and only one chair so, for two people to sit, one has to be on the bed. However when we spoke to the concierge staff they could not have been more helpful moving us to 201 which was much better. Breakfast is good with a range of juices, croissants, cold meat and cheese and hot eggs and bacon. You won't get a "full English" but if you want that don't stay in a small Italian hotel. Michaela makes excellent coffee to get you going for the day. Would definitely visit again.

I checked in and the hotel staff assisted me with my luggage. Upon checking in Alexasso & the other gentleman was pleasant however this hotel does not have an active Bar/Lounge opened for Hotel guest. I was told the ONLY access I have was to my room. The hotel lacks any amenities. The courtyard was off limits for guess due to not being properly maintained. The upstairs sitting area I wasn’t allowed to have tea there was told I had a tea kettle in my room that didn’t initially work. Alexasso had to replace the tea kettle immediately after check in. The hotel stafff did offer to make reservations elsewhere at a different hotel. I stayed at this hotel mid May 2025, it was extremely cold I called the front desk asking if I could turn the heat on & they brought me a portable space heater. This was a bad experience. A 4 star hotel with no amenities for the guest. While the hotel staff was kind, the hotel itself was a terrible decision.

reception eccellente al top sempre a risolvere i problemi. senza ascensore 40 gradini alle camere in alto senza montapersone guasto da un pò. Coppia con noi ha cambiato stanza con una al P.T. meno luminosa e più piccola. spazi comuni solo dopo i 40 gradini- Colazione nella norma con servizio variabile a seconda del personale.

Really nice hotel inside. Very old world grandeur. Super nice staff. Our room was two story with bathroom below. More stairs to navigate if you have limited mobility. Bed was comfy and room was dark and quiet. Canal is right out the front door, we walked from the train station which was made more arduous by the fact that hotels.com has the address wrong so it added 15 min to the trek. It’s a seventy euro taxi ride. Free breakfast was also very good.

Pretty good stay! Room was clean but some mold in the shower which is to be expected. They were able to accommodate an early check in. Front desk were pleasant though upon checkin it took some time since the receptionist seem busy with other tasks. We came in September and the entrance was flooded but this is to be expected, did not last long. Great location for everything.

The hotel is beautifully kept and decorated. The staff were so kind and helpful. They made us feel so much at home. Alessandro, Michela, and Giacomo took very good care of us. You can tell they authenticly care about their customers and about the hotel. The breakfast was delicious, healthy, and of high quality. The hotel room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was the best sleep I've ever had at a hotel. We had a lovely view of an interior courtyard.

Amazing Hotel, great food, great staff. Only one complaint: cleaning staff need to clean all the accumulated dust around the baseboards, on top of closet. Please add a room safe, to keep personal items safe. Bathroom is nice.

The property is located in a quieter part of Venice and close to two Valporetto stops. The staff at the front desk and dining area is extremely nice, accommodating, and attentive to your needs. Unfortunately, the cleaning personnel is not competent. The room was never properly cleaned. The floors left dirty. Bugs. The tissue was never replaced.

When we stepped into the room, the airconditioner (A/C) was not cooling because the fan speed was on low; when we switched it from low to medium and to high, on both medium & high, the fan would completely shut off (not working). The bathroom is downstairs and we had to climb down 14 steps to use it in the middle of the night. We are in our 70s. Ca’ Vendramin Zago should honestly advertise it as such. When we climbed up the 14 steps of stairs to the upstairs bedroom to check the A/C, there was a fan on the floor. Obviously management knew that the A/C was not cooling. We complained to Vanessa at reception about the problem but she said there was nothing she could do. We called Expedia and spoke to Adam who said he will escalate the case. We overheard another guest from room 202 who complained to Alessandro that their A/C was not working. Secondly, when we put our suitcase on the floor, the suitcase was full of dust. Thirdly, the toilet had a stain. Obviously Ca’Vendramin Zago does not clean properly. Please allow us to post pictures of our above issues. The hotel refused to do anything about our problem, our whole Venice vacation was a total disaster, WE WANT A REFUND.

One of the best hotel stays of my life. Very nice and attentive reception staff. Live and Valentina are the best. Sincere. Not fake. Breakfast ladies were the nicest ever in this business. Breakfast was really good. We stayed at junior suite with canal view and the room was like out of medieval age italian chateau. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable. There were everything you could find at those old classy royal hotels. Even envelopes and papers with hotel insignia on it. The stairs towards our room was decorated with statues. The hotel is on the canal so we got to go back to train station with a water taxi. Fixed price, 70 euros. It is a great experience. Overall, really great experience.

We had a good stay at the hotel, which provided everything we needed for our visit. The staff were exceptionally kind, and the lobby was beautifully designed. Breakfast was enjoyable as well. While the room itself differed from the online photos and was smaller than anticipated, it was sufficient for our one-night stay and didn’t detract from our overall experience. A delightful touch was the thoughtful gesture by the staff, who arranged a heart of rose petals on our bed to celebrate our honeymoon—a truly lovely surprise. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, though I’d recommend opting for a larger room if staying for more than a night. Fantastic Venetian hotel, just what we wanted with traditional ornate interiors, touches of gold in the furnishings. Trompe-l'œil around the door frames - it all felt very authentic. A canal is right outside the door, so we could have been in any other city. Our room didn’t have a view of the canal, but of a court yard We stayed in a junior suite which was very large and had padded fabric walls rather than wallpaper It all felt very special and luxurious , and had super large comfortable bed. The complementary breakfast had everything we could want, continental, and egg and bacon. There is a lovely restaurant just t over the bridge from the hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful- they really couldn’t have been any better- a special mention to Live and Alexandro who where on duty for most of our stay. Alexandro was on duty when we asked about a trip to murrarno. He arranged a complementary water taxi for us and some other guests and a trip around one of the glass factories - well worth it. Fabulous hotel and trip. Worth a mention- the main way of getting around is by walking, bring comfortable shoes!!!

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Our room was the “wow” room. We felt privileged to stay in it. Maybe the more expensive rooms are nice but if you are going budget friendly, don’t book unless you are truly only using the room to sleep. The room was so small I had to rearrange it to open my suitcase. The rooms are located on the ground floor across from the staff rooms and public restroom. You could hear everything up to the front desk. The walls were so thin, I could hear both sides of the conversation of the man in the room next to me. No sunlight from the window. Not sure how the AC works. However, if you don’t care about your space, it’s located in an amazing area. Out of the bustle just over the bridge.

The hotel was clean and in a great location however after 2 days, half way through our trip, our air conditioning unit broke. We made multiple staff members aware and were told it would be fixed the next morning. We were then told it couldn’t be fixed until the following morning (at which point we would be going home). We were told there was no spare room. It was 30 degrees in our room which was unbearable. We could not sleep due to the heat. We were given a fan which didn’t work and was told to open our window, which in 30 degrees provided no relief & let in mosquitos. We then asked for another fan, however this was extremely loud. We were told that the manager would not provide any compensation which is extremely unacceptable. We were not able to head back to the hotel to relax and could not sleep at night due to the heat in the room. The staff didn’t seem to take any action to make us comfortable. We would not return based on this poor service. Hotels should have a system whereby they have on-call technicians should issues like ours arise.

Booked a junior suite as we wanted a larger room given that our planned stay was 5 nights - initially allocated room 206 which, while included in the junior suites, really should not be marketed as such. It has been squeezed into a small room by creating a mezzanine level for the bed with the bathroom "downstairs". It is cramped, there is barely any room to get around the bed, there is no drawer space to store clothes and only one chair so, for two people to sit, one has to be on the bed. However when we spoke to the concierge staff they could not have been more helpful moving us to 201 which was much better. Breakfast is good with a range of juices, croissants, cold meat and cheese and hot eggs and bacon. You won't get a "full English" but if you want that don't stay in a small Italian hotel. Michaela makes excellent coffee to get you going for the day. Would definitely visit again.

Definitely a splurge for us, but one that was well worth it. Breakfast had multiple options (hot and cold, healthy and pastries). View over the canal was spectacular from the forward-facing rooms.

We enjoyed our stay in Venice. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good. The room was a little dated with an awkward configuration. The location was quiet but not much soundproofing between the interior walls. We were on the ground floor in a standard room… upstairs probably would be better.

Ca' Vendramin Zago is a gem of a hotel in a grand palazzo building with original features and lots of charm. It is ideally situated in a quiet residential area just a stone's throw from Venice's main avenue and walking distance from vaporetto stops and all major sights. If you are in a position to, it is well worth booking a canal view suite. I was lucky enough to stay in the suite with the main balcony at the front of the hotel and wow, I felt like royalty! There was a warm and friendly welcome from all of the staff, particularly Alessandro on the evening shift who arranged me an airport water taxi, and a delicious breakfast to set you up for a day's exploring. It's a home from home and I hope to be back! Thanks for a great stay

Great location, easily accessible to the biggest attractions in Venice but the best part was the exceptional service by the staff.All the staff were extremely helpful giving good tips on places to explore and eat and were so welcoming.I rarely go to the same place twice but would definitely come back here.A special thanks to Alessandro who went above and beyond assisting me with my luggage to the station when he saw my struggling.Thanks also to Live, Almin and all other great staff

Really enjoyed our stay! Alessandro at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Got an upgrade to a really cool room overlooking the canal. Breakfast in morning was fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend!

The property is fantastic in an excellent location made all the better by its staff. They have to be the most attentive staff I have come across from the moment we arrived until departure. It’s optional but they suggest you leave room key with them , why I ask ? So we can talk and get to know how your day was and your plans for the next day and so they can suggest ideas etc just so they get to know your names.. it’s the little things that matter. Oh and the breakfast is lovely too all the usual continental meats , cheese , breads , yoghurt fruit cereals , scrambled eggs and bacon .. Venice itself is amazing I was blown away and Ca Vendramin Zago is probably set in the best place you could wish for with excellent restaurants, bars , cafes within minutes walk. If I ever return , it’ll be back here , (assuming it’s available )

I loved staying at this charming and beautiful palazzo in Venice in the Cannaregio neighborhood. It has all the charm of being directly on a canal without being directly in the path of the busiest foot traffic areas of Venice. The daily breakfast and coffee bar service was an unexpected and wonderful treat. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They made suggestions for places to eat the best local cicchetti, recommendations for how to take in the free Art Biennial festival, and arranged our departure water taxi. Absolutely wonderful hosts. The accommodations were chic and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this as a fantastic place to stay and enjoy all that Venice has to offer.

One of the best hotel stays of my life. Very nice and attentive reception staff. Live and Valentina are the best. Sincere. Not fake. Breakfast ladies were the nicest ever in this business. Breakfast was really good. We stayed at junior suite with canal view and the room was like out of medieval age italian chateau. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable. There were everything you could find at those old classy royal hotels. Even envelopes and papers with hotel insignia on it. The stairs towards our room was decorated with statues. The hotel is on the canal so we got to go back to train station with a water taxi. Fixed price, 70 euros. It is a great experience. Overall, really great experience.

An amazing place to stay in a beautiful city!! Our very own palace! We loved, loved, loved our stay at this hotel!! We had a beautiful room with a balcony and view of the canal! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The local recommendation for dinner was fabulous They helped coordinate a trip to Murano to tour a glass blowing factory and also our taxi to the airport. The breakfast was an awesome perk. Wonderful options and cappuccino made with smiley faces. You won’t be disappointed by booking this place on your next trip to Venice!!

A real gem in the heart of Venice but in a quiet area away from the noise and hordes of day trippers. Everything is in a fifteen minute walk. If you walk away from the centre, the area is very italian - the streets are full of locals - as are the bars and restaurants. We had a lovely very large room over the canal with a shower room and bathroom. Breakfast was a limited but very appetising buffet. Highly recommend

Excellent small hotel in the heart of Venice. Just off the main thoroughfare, and only a 15-minute walk from the rail station. Perfectly placed to walk to all the major sites. Polite, friendly, and helpful staff.

Everything was great at this lovely property. The staff was exceptional--helpful and friendly. Our water taxi took us directly to the hotel and picked us up for our return to the airport. The property is in a great location. Close to the action, but on a quieter street. I'd definitely stay there again for a return trip.

This is a period property. Be aware there is no lift, but staff are happy to help with luggage. Breakfast was pleasant, but limited. Do read reviews of Venice in general to be aware of the ‘tourist traps’.

He sat us down to explain the areas and recommended us routes for our itinerary: . Breakfast was faultless hosted by Michaela who was super friendly and kind throughout. We very much enjoyed our stay - the hotel is located in a great position. Just off the busy tourist area but within easy reach of vaporettos and the Rialto Bridge. Good choice of breakfast apart from cooked food which was limited to scrambled egg and bacon every day. Almost made up for by the pancakes and the coffee which was wonderful. Disappointed that there was no bar - just drinks in the room's minibar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and our room (208) had a very good sized living area with a view of a courtyard.

The historic building is filled with period details, but the hotel conversion has been done with modern comforts in mind, yielding the best of both worlds. It’s in a convenient location, but offers complete quiet if desired. The staff are exceedingly cordial and helpful. Be sure to try the strudel at breakfast!

The most amazing hotel !!!!! Staff are excellent and very knowledgeable. We stayed in a junior Suite with a canal view which was exceptional. Breakfast is great and the coffee is fantastic. The hotel is in a great location, 15 minutes walk from the train station and 15 minutes to St Marks square although walk back from the hotel a couple of hundred yards and there is plenty of bars and restaurants which are more chilled. A great end to our Italy trip.
The most amazing hotel !!!!! Staff are excellent and very knowledgeable. We stayed in a junior Suite with a canal view which was exceptional. Breakfast is great and the coffee is fantastic. The hotel is in a great location, 15 minutes walk from the train station and 15 minutes to St Marks square although walk back from the hotel a couple of hundred yards and there is plenty of bars and restaurants which are more chilled. A great end to our Italy trip.

Staff is great! Very helpful. Good breakfast. The rooms are a bit uneven. Last year we got an excellent junior suite - this year the bathroom drains smelled and spread to the room. The rooms are clean though. Service is great!

Great location. We had a canal view suite. We stayed during the heat wave and unfortunately our aircon didn’t work the best but I guess it’s not normally that hot either. Staff were very accommodating. The breakfast was great.
