We enjoyed our 14-night stay at Grand Hotel Français greatly! Our Superior Double room suited us very well: it was well-appointed, quiet, and very clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was immaculately clean but very small -- but that is to be expected in Paris! Note that the only English-language TV station available during our stay (May, 2025) was France 24 News (excellent, but adding BBC News and CNN might be a nice addition). Housecleaning service was excellent. Breakfast was a pleasure each morning with an excellent variety of fresh hot and cold food options, French pastries, great coffee and beverage choices, and pleasant service. We especially appreciated the uniformly positive, helpful, and welcoming demeanor of the hotel staff -- from the manager to the front desk to the breakfast staff to the housecleaning personnel. The hotel's location is outstanding with direct walking access in a safe and very Parisian neighborhood within a 5 min. walk from Place de la Nation without many tourists, and easy access there to many public transportation options (four Metro lines, RER, buses). Metro 9 is 2 min. walk away in the other direction and connects to everything. Perfect at a reasonable price. We felt welcomed and look forward to staying here again in the future.

Nous avons laissé nos bagages dans la journée, en revenant le soir elles étaients dans le hall d’entrée à la vue de tous.. La chambre était sale, ne correspondait pas au photo, chasse d’eau qui ne fonctionnait pas correctement, agencement a revoir, la baignoire est horrible. La gestion de la température inexistant, il faisait froid, franchement pour le prix que j’ai payé je n’ai jamais vu ca. Je ne comprends pas les notes de cette Hotel.

Wir waren insgesamt wirklich zufrieden und fanden auch die Umgebung des Hotels recht schön mit einem guten Angebot an Restaurants und einer guten Metro-Anbindung.

Location is great. Room is very clean though very small, which would not be a problem except that they are tightly spaced and poorly isolated so every cough is heard. Guests behave well within that constraint. Breakfast in other reviews is overrated. It's fine though adding whole fruit instead of fruit salad would be an improvement. Weirdest thing is an all-day, all-night creepy noise coming through the pipes, sounds like an underworld villain playing a fife. We called it the Upside-Down demonic music.

Excellent choice for our hotel. We liked the location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Speaking English fluently. Room is a normal size for the location, tiny. The property may be a bit dated, but it was not detracting from the experience. We liked the room and amenities it provided.

Excellent, if of Euro size (to be expected!). Very clean and modern room. Very good breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. The bed was a double, not a Queen (per description) a minor disappointment. No shampoo or conditioner.

La estadía fue maravillosa hasta el minuto del checkout. La parte maravillosa: cómo nos atendieron en recepción, la habitación con vista maravillosa, la ubicación, etc. Lo malo? Nos cobraron el city tax sin haber avisado antes (siemore avisan). Además que la persona en recepción, ese día, fue realmente grosero. Nos sorprendió pues todo el resto del personal fue increíble.

We were recommended a couple of good restaurants nearby by the hotel staff, who were always helpful. The room was very small by North American standards, but had everything we needed. We needed a one night stay close to my daughter’s apartment in Paris. So this hotel was convenient. A very typical Paris hotel. Small rooms and bathrooms. Clean enough. And very basic. Breakfast was offered upon arrival for the next morning which we thought was part of our accommodation. But upon checkout they charged us for the breakfast and tax.

We love this charming boutique hotel and have stayed here on several occasions. We have chosen this hotel in particular because the manger and staff are so helpful and welcoming. This is truly the highlight of staying here. The rooms are comfortable, and the location is great. It is easy to get to any part of the city you would like to visit, and the neighborhood has many innovative and creative restaurants. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

The A.C.unit of whole hotel was not working & we slept whole night without A.C.& fan, it was terrible expereince.I will never reccomend this property to anyone.The staff was least bothered about guest inconvienience.

An exceptional, charming, small independent hotel. Staff is wonderful, room is large, laundry service is included. This was such a lucky find, and I will absolutely stay there again when I come back to Paris, and will highly recommend the Grand Hotel Francais to everyone!

Housecleaning service was excellent. Breakfast was a pleasure each morning with an excellent variety of fresh hot and cold food options, French pastries, great coffee and beverage choices, and pleasant service. We especially appreciated the uniformly positive, helpful, and welcoming demeanor of the hotel staff -- from the manager to the front desk to the breakfast staff to the housecleaning personnel. Unser Superior Zimmer war sauber mit einem sehr kleinen, aber recht neuen Bad und einem sehr bequemen Bett. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir waren insgesamt wirklich zufrieden und fanden auch die Umgebung des Hotels recht schön mit einem guten Angebot an Restaurants und einer guten Metro-Anbindung.

Location is great. Room is very clean though very small, which would not be a problem except that they are tightly spaced and poorly isolated so every cough is heard. Guests behave well within that constraint. Breakfast in other reviews is overrated. It's fine though adding whole fruit instead of fruit salad would be an improvement. Weirdest thing is an all-day, all-night creepy noise coming through the pipes, sounds like an underworld villain playing a fife. We called it the Upside-Down demonic music.

Excellente situation ,tout proche de la place de la Nation Accueil particulièrement attentif et sympathique . Insonorisation tout a fait correcte aunsi que la literie confortable conduisent a des nuits reposantes. Espace petit dejeuner un peu etouffant au sous sol ( viennoiseries tres seches et oain mou, une seule confiture... en revanche nombreux fromages , helas industriels , dommage car jusre a cote il existe une excellente fromagerie .

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The welcome drink is a kind welcome, the breakfast is tasty and the staff is friendly! Room is clean (a bit small but it’s common in Paris), bed sleeps great and the shower is powerful. And the neighborhood is pretty quiet, which is nice after you’ve been downtown with another zillion people. We recommend this place for sure.

Excellent, if of Euro size (to be expected!). Very clean and modern room. Very good breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. The bed was a double, not a Queen (per description) a minor disappointment. No shampoo or conditioner.

The staff and the owner were very present to help us, told to have a great day/night everytime we left and to chat. The man in charge of the breakfast always had a smile. Always there to bring what was missing. The only thing that didn’t fit this perfect week was the taxi that was called for us, was with a driver not vaccinated, antivax with very strong political views, that wanted to be paid cash. Thank you for your great service.

No complaints at all , staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Hotel in nice quiet location, lots of places to eat locally. Metro station virtually outside. For getting around buy the Navigo Easy which can be topped up at most stations. We bought ours on the Eurostar which comes loaded with two tickets, no queuing at Gare du Nord. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed for three nights in August and will most definitely return! All of the staff were extremely accommodating, welcoming, and helpful. The room was pleasant and quiet, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The restaurant recommendations were excellent, and I really enjoyed the location and neighborhood as well. When booking, my main criteria were air conditioning, an elevator, and a mini fridge — and the stay exceeded my expectations on all three counts. The location is close to plenty of restaurants and feels removed from the main tourist crowds, which we really appreciated. It’s about 20–40 minutes from Paris’s main attractions, so that may be worth considering depending on your plans, but we found the Metro easy and convenient to use. We’d happily stay here again.
