Hotel staff were excellent. Hotel is clean. Multiple USB charging ports in our room. Views are beautiful. Balcony was a bonus for enjoying a late night drink. Dining, tours all within walking distance. Pool was clean as was the small gym. Loved our stay.

The reason for 4 stars is because of the fact that no where before booking or at check in were we told that the pool was out of service. It is summer and 35 outside. The location of this hotel is great but for the price we should have had the pool.

View from room was supposed to be “river view”, however, very misleading. The view was of a partial river view but mainly a parking lot and old unused pool. Balcony was extremely dirty, bugs and spider webs surrounded the railing and screen door, which was not properly cut to size. Cleaning crew were consistently in hallway at every hour of the day, multiple at a time. Hallways were filthy and not vacuumed.

The lobby was clean and bright and the staff lovely, but on arrival in my room the toilet had clearly not been properly cleaned. A member of staff was sent to deal with this, but he didn’t remove his gloves after cleaning the toilet and touched the door knob to leave. I had little confidence in the cleanliness of my room.

When we arrived, the room was very clean, and we loved the shower. However, during our 4-day stay, the bathroom was never cleaned or mopped. Housekeeping only made the bed and changed the towels. The toilet paper was of very poor quality — the hotel should definitely consider changing the brand. This hotel has great potential because of its excellent location, but it really needs a full renovation and better daily room maintenance. With a few improvements, it could be a wonderful place to stay.

The room views were stunning. However our room was never cleaned during our stay and we ended up having lots of ants in our washroom. They sent someone to take care of it in the evening but all they did was vacuum said ants and nearly 30 mins later they were back . So that was kinda gross . The wifi was slow and lagged. Wasn’t able to do any work with a laptop . Other than that the staff was friendly. Super close to walk to restaurants and shops and the water

I realize it is probably a daily job but balconies need to be cleaned/ swept They were filled with both alive & dead bugs, flies and cobwebs. My suggestion is to be cleaned and sprayed prior to the customers arrival…

Definitely could use some work. The air conditioner was not working when we arrived. We called down and were told someone would be right there. We called back about 10 mins later requesting a room change and were told to call back later. Maintenance eventually arrived and had to exchange the entire unit. The sink in the bathroom did not drain well so you had to keep turning the water on to flush the toothpaste down the drain. The vanity needed a good dusting at the base as did the door. The balcony was full of cobwebs and needed a good sweep. All in all not really worth the cost for one night. On a positive note, the breakfast was delicious. Plenty of variety and tasty.

Bad Experience, No Interest by Hotel Manager to make it better. not worth ~$400 for a night. - The room was somewhat hot and extremely humid. we discovered in the morning that the AC was broken. - Room was clean but you could tell it was an old hotel with new trimmings - Broken Wine Glasses in the Elevator and spilt water everywhere - Extremely loud guests on our floor that woke us up multiple times on our floor. strange they put us on a floor with a wedding party - Staff was A+ friendly and efficient. room were to be fair clean and well stocked as expected. - We contacted Expedia about this issues (as instructed by the lady at the front desk) who then contacted the hotel. the manager of the hotel seemed uninterested in any of our concerns. we requested a partial refund primarily for the broken AC but were firmly denied any compensation by the Hotel Manager. Book at your own risk. no matter the issue, the hotel has no interest in doing anything but take your money at the end of the day. better to look elsewhere on the waterfront if you reliably want a good experience.

The water view from our hotel room was beautiful, clean room, comfortable bed and delicious breakfast buffet. Walls are paper thin, you could hear a lot of banging or yelling from other guests/families.

Check-in was extremely slow and at 3PM (check-in time for the hotel) they had one clerk working at one of the desks and one other clerk that floated around with a frown on her face that just teased guests in the hopes she would begin to check them in, but rather and frequently just walked off to return a few moment later to do nothing. Hotel policy seemed to be to park large diesel buses beneath the balconys of the Southeast side of the building and allow them to idle there with no regard to the diesel fumes entering the rooms through both balcony doors and fresh air vents, nor the disturbance the noise caused. When questioned about it and asked to make it stop, the staff on the scene laughed at guests from two different rooms. Even upon check-out, when the issue was brought up, the front desk staff was very cavalier about it. Unfortunately, the mgmt of this property and their attitude to returning guests seems to have changed, so as a result, so will our choice of hotels.

After me calling, they cancelled my room because they were over booked and I lost 1 night stay and had to find alternative place to stay. Then I bought the breakfast packaged and the breakfast was not good and I was stuck with loosing my breakfast money because they don’t give refunds, even if you don’t like the breakfast, you’re still stuck with it for an extra two days of my stay

A software update on the TVs was done so the one in our room stopped working on the second night. We were told someone would come and fix it but that did not happen. When we spoke to someone the following day, they said they would send someone up right away. When we returned that evening, it was still not repaired. Then we were informed that it was unfixable - was there not a spare one in the hotel? or could they not have told us this the first time they looked at it. The staff was lovely and comp'd us our parking, but I think they could have some tot he conclusion it was unfixable after the first inspection of the TV.

Billing very poor. They take a $100 deposit which they don't tell you about. When you find out they tell you that if there is no damage you will get it back in 5 to 7 business days if they don't find any problem. They also tell you on checkout that they will email you your bill, but they don't. Very sloppy.

Was disappointed with the check in time, my notifications from Expedia were 3:00 pm, however, the hotel when trying to check in indicated it was 4 o’clock, and the rooms weren’t ready. It would’ve been nice to have notification of the change of check-in times.

I called the Kingston Holiday Inn location to confirm my online reservation along with payment method and amount confirmation just before leaving for my son’s football championship game. Almost 4 hours later I arrive to Holiday Inn in Kingston and to my horror when I arrived the lady at the desk very loud loudly informed me that, “We attempted to charge your card and the payment declined therefore we canceled your reservation….” I was confused as I had called the main line and the hotel themselves 3 1/2 hours earlier to confirm everything has been put in place and would go as expected. I had to notify the lady at the desk that this was incorrect that there was a mistake on their part and that I needed her to stop saying that “my payment declined” in front of the audience behind me, when in fact, there was no attempt to charge my actual card used for the reservation. It seems as though they had used information from prior years from when I had stayed with them before for a previous tournament that My Son and I attended in Kingston. Luckily we were able to find something in the Delta hotel, Their customer service is horrible and the communication between their guests and the direct hotel themselves are basically nonexistent, creating confusion with information from the guest and their main office to the primary hotel that the guest will be staying in. I will never again stayed another Holiday Inn. Although they admitted that it was their fault, they nothing to accommodate us

The room was clean and had everything we needed. We loved that the parking actually could fit trucks unlike the Delta next door. And I love downtown Kingston- you could walk to everything from this hotel.

Great location in downtown Kingston. Parking available adjacent to the main entrance. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Worth what we paid. I did not care for the breakfast buffet. It was not very good, neither the taste nor the quality of the ingredients. Not worth the $22.00/person cost.

Room was comfortable, clean. It would have been nice to have sufficient cups, coffee pods in the room. Staff at reception desk were friendly, helpful as were the staff in the restaurant at breakfast. Breakfast selection was pretty basic and warm selections were not very hot. Enjoyed our stay.

We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. It is located at a convenient location in Kingston where you can easily access restaurants and tourist attractions. The gym and pool are also quite lovely. The gym overlooks the waters which is an additional bonus. The restaurant at the hotel has a nice patio and the dinner menu has a good variety of options. The waitresses during dinner time were very friendly and courteous. However, the same couldn't be said about the staff during breakfast hours. They were so rude that we left and ate at the restaurant outside the hotel. I would definitely stay at the hotel again but just don't eat breakfast at the hotel's restaurant.
