The Mentone Hotel has a beautiful aesthetic. I stayed a single room and it had everything I needed! One gripe, the TV was not working, I came to London to study at RADA and spend my evenings dining and exploring, so this wasn't an issue, however I like to have the TV on in the background whilst working on my laptop or getting ready. Aside from that small issue, the location is excellent, walking distance to major areas of London. A short five minute walk takes you to London Underground, the area is beautiful being a grade two listed building, unfortunately no air conditioning as stated by Mentone Hotel due to the heritage of the building, but this wasn't an issue for me in room three. I'd happily stay here again, I didn't try the breakfast as I had food to go as I was studying early morning. 4.5 out 5, I would highly recommend and I plan to stay here next year during my next course at RADA.

No lighting at the top of the stairs so could not see anything when coming back in the evenings. No signs to show which stairs led to which room numbers. The stairs to the top floor were winding and very narrow. Is this code compliant? These were difficult to navigate especially with luggage. No exit signs were inatalled. Is this code compliant?

Excellent hotel. Lovely room and helpful staff. Location was close to Euston so great for us and a nice 30 minutes stroll into the West End. Breakfast was great with a good choice and good value for money. Lovely little pub just around the corner as well. Would definitely stay here again

This is par for the course for a traditional London hotel room. The room we stayed in would not be suitable for large or numerous luggage. Typical to traditional London hotels, there is no elevator. The stairs are narrow for "ground" and upstairs rooms, and to reach the area where breakfast was served. Some amenities are hand/body wash soap and shampoo. Water pot to heat water for instant coffee or tea. No heat for those cold London nights, but staff will provide a blanket on request. Our room was pitched from one corner to the opposite diagonal corner. Across the street, you can find a tennis court. Nice variety of food offerings within a block that you are not reliant on the train station offerings.

Staff were absolutely excellent, nothing was too much trouble. They were attentive, without being intrusive. The room was perfectly adequate, with more character than a premier inn or other large chains. Location was perfect, just off the Euston Road, but close enough to be able to walk from the station. it did get a little noisy at night, but mainly due to the nature of a big city, nothing the hotel could do about this, and it didn't last long.If in London again for the night this would be my first choice hotel. I did have a room on the third floor, which involved negotiating a narrow spiral staircase with my suitcase. Being fit and healthy this was not a problem for me, but may be something less fit people may want to check when booking,

The Menton was an easy walk with roller bags from Kings Cross, and we stayed for one night before getting the Eurostar the next morning. The one drawback - which can be avoided if you ask - was the stairs. We were given a room on the third floor and even with my strong 23 year old we struggled to get the suitcases up and down a very tight set of stairs. A room on the first or second floor would not have faced the same challenges. Although the room was not big, the hotel was in good condition and the staff were very helpful.

Amazing value hotel, in really a great location. Decor and rooms were very modern and clean. We were given a triple room when we only paid for a double, so very spacious. No air con or lift but that was fine for us as it wasn't hot and we're fine with stairs. We were on the top floor, other doors next to us were very loud when opening and closing but that was probably the only negative. Nice lounge area to sit if needed. We didn't try the breakfast. Free wifi abd checkout at 11. Situated in a pleasant area, overlooking tennis courts, only a 10 minute walk to St Pancras/Kings cross or Euston. Would definitely recommend and return as its so centrally located for a great price.

Overall, this was a good hotel. My friends and I stayed in the top floor of this small hotel for our trip to London. Highlights are easy access to the metro station and neighborhood feels very safe and walkable. Really our only complaint is that there was occasionally the smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. The rooms and bathroom were kept clean, but the smell was noticeable (only at certain times and unrelated to our usage of the bathroom). Overall, this hotel met our expectations. Clean, comfortable and convenient!

The room was clean enough, however I found it hard to sleep with creaking stars and loose floorboards in the room above me. The WiFi is terrible so if you require connectivity to carry out work I would not consider here. Probably the worst I’ve come across in London so far. There is no bin provided in the room so you have to put waste into a carrier which in my case was not removed when the room was tidied, so there was a stale smell of food waste when I returned to the room that evening. On the plus side the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was clean, nice bathroom and very close to Euston station. Could not fault it. As it must have been quite a substancial residence in the past the only thing is that you can hear guests walking in the room above you. Altough that has happened in newly built hotels too. I had a good stay!

I stayed two nights for work and had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was smart, clean and comfortable. The location is a quiet street a short work from Euston/Kings Cross et, very handy. I had a basement room, so it only got a little sunlight and the faint rumble of tube trains below could be heard until about midnight. But given the price, great service and everything else being perfect, this was only a very minor issue. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel itself was refurbished from actual homes with several floors with squeeky floors, steep stairs and narrow walkways. The room allocated was decent although with a modern though small bathroom but for a person of my size it's sufficient, can't imagine if someone who is on the plus size of which might find the bathroom a tight squeeze. The hot water is definitely a wait, as it took nearly 5mins plus to get decent hot water in the shower. The breakfast was the only plus side as the baked goods and English breakfast spread was fresh and hot. Though space within the dinning area is tight, and the smell of food goes directly up to the rooms, not to mention the soundproofing is horrible, where you can hear the conversations, TV sounds, and young passionate couple next door. if you want to iron your shirts, bring your own portable one as you might need to iron a communal one right in front of other rooms.

The hotel is in a great location for the tubes and was very clean, with nice staff. The only downsides were you wasn't allowed to check in, even 1 minute before 2pm, even if your room was ready and the room itself was very small, with a small double bed.

Great base for a couple of nights within walking distance of Kings Cross. Twin room was very small but ok for a short stay. On a quiet crescent, no traffic noise at all. Staff friendly and efficient. The area had lots of nice cafes and restaurants and a good vibe. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel as there were plenty places close by.

We were in room 4 ,the room above was was very noisy with creaking floor boards ,which affected our sleep as they kept getting up in night. Showers and toilets were noisy when In use and workmen outside started at 8ish on roof. Room itself was a good size and very clean. Beds were comfortable, shower was good. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good. Just noisy which we appreciate can't always be regulated,as it depends who stays.

Primary reason for the lower rating is the staff checking in, a Natalie, just generally rude and surly. Was checking in with my pregnant wife, ended up in the top floor, not the worst thing in the world but little things add up. My wife mentioned the service reminded her of ride Parisian's when we were in France recently. Other staff seemed fine, if somewhat unorganized.

Perfect location! Multiple train lines near by which made getting around the city super easy. Come prepared to hear everything your neighbors do from walking around, opening doors, flushing the toilet, taking showers, etc. (this may be typical in Londons older buildings so just bring ear plugs!) the hotel only gave one medium towel per person (no hand towels), which I know this is not uncommon in smaller hotels. However, when my mom requested an extra towel she was addressed with hostility and refusal. Direct quote from staff: “this isn’t America”. Which is a terrible argument considering we are visiting the UK…the homeland of the Founding Fathers…the root of the US heritage and language…anyways… Eventually, I went back to ask again later that night (unfortunately the same staff was at the front desk) and again was given the same response and hostility. After enough push I finally received an extra towel. Having one towel really isn’t that big of deal but the staffs responses was very rude and unprofessional. Other than that, great hotel :)

Come prepared to hear everything your neighbors do from walking around, opening doors, flushing the toilet, taking showers, etc. (this may be typical in Londons older buildings so just bring ear plugs!) the hotel only gave one medium towel per person (no hand towels), which I know this is not uncommon in smaller hotels. However, when my mom requested an extra towel she was addressed with hostility and refusal. Direct quote from staff: “this isn’t America”. Which is a terrible argument considering we are visiting the UK…the homeland of the Founding Fathers…the root of the US heritage and language…anyways… Eventually, I went back to ask again later that night (unfortunately the same staff was at the front desk) and again was given the same response and hostility. After enough push I finally received an extra towel. Having one towel really isn’t that big of deal but the staffs responses was very rude and unprofessional. Other than that, great hotel :)

Excellent hotel. Lovely room and helpful staff. Location was close to Euston so great for us and a nice 30 minutes stroll into the West End. Breakfast was great with a good choice and good value for money. Lovely little pub just around the corner as well. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights and loved the hygene. The proximity to King's Cross and various other underground stations was very convenient. The room was a one-bed room and quite small, but it was more than enough for me. I also loved having a kettle in my room, and there were plenty of coffee and tea bags. The loveliest was without a doubt Joe, who first helped me with my luggage the first day and then with printing my flight ticket the last! Thank you Joe, you are the best!

We were given a key to our room, to open the door & find someone else in the room!! They had given us the wrong key!! Totally embarrassing! Went to reception & got the right key & room number. 10mins later, a knock on the door & reception had given a visitor the wrong room number again! The hotel is in a great location for the tubes and was very clean, with nice staff. The only downsides were you wasn't allowed to check in, even 1 minute before 2pm, even if your room was ready and the room itself was very small, with a small double bed.

Clean modern room. Nice touch with bottle of wine. Pleasant staff. Fan provided but not powerful enough for heatwave night! Informed them I'd arrive very late but when I arrived the concierge had gone and a phone number was left. Phone was dead so couldn't contact! Went next door to lovely owner of Avon more hotel who helped out. Apparently many tourists without UK SIM have problems calling the concierge too. Turned out he was in the basement all along - suggest a direct link to his room in future, or a video doorbell app!

I stayed here for one night as I was getting an early Eurostar the next day. It's convenient for St Pancras. Hotel is modern with very friendly staff on front desk. Room was small but ok as only me staying there for one night. Smart TV an added bonus and unexpected for the price.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was extremely convenient for taking the Eurostar to France. I also found some great restaurants close by. There is no lift/elevator which made getting bags in and out of the room a little challenging, but I knew that might be an issue before booking. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again when in London.

Excellent location and place to stay. Close to Russell Square tube station, Euston and Kings cross. All within 5, 10 min walk. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with shops and pubs nearby. The room was clean and the beds comfortable and also a nice shower. The full english breakfast was very tasty. Will not hesitate to stay again

Nice location, close to King's Cross (10 min walk) and Russell Square (5 min). No traffic noise, good pub around te corner for a drink and a park in front of the hotel. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Would recommend!

Bedroom was small but clean warm and comfortable. The only complaint we would have that it was noisy at breakfast and it was noisy from the room above us at night. The noise above us was creaking floor boards. I think the size of restaurant is to small for the size of hotel.

Efficient check-in with a very friendly welcome & helpful information given. Pleasant lounge area near reception. Our room was on the top floor so up several stairs, quite narrow & winding towards top. Room was lovely, appeared recently decorated with good quality, modern carpets, curtains & furniture. Crisp, white cotton sheets & comfortable bed. Shower room small but perfectly functional, even though water pressure not great. The room & en-suite were very clean. Nice to be able to open window for fresh air. Good sized tv & tea/coffee making facility in room. Drawers & plenty of open hanging space for clothes. Breakfast was included in our room price & was served in the bright, modern basement dining room. Lovely choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, bread, fresh juice, teas & coffees, and a hot self service English breakfast buffet, which was good quality, well cooked and regularly replenished. Staff were smart & efficient and kept the area very clean & tidy. We would definitely return to The Mentone Hotel as it is in a quiet, tree lined crescent but so convenient being only a short walk from Kings Cross/St Pancras Stations. Also within easy walking distance of Central London with many pubs, cafes, restaurants & shops nearby. We also found it good value by London standards.

Family room was nice and comfortable for 4 of us and very clean. Breakfast was nice enough but is in the basement which isn’t great. Especially when it’s busy. But we will be back. It was a nice stay in a great location for the train stations and central London.

We arrived Friday night and check in was excellent. The room was clean, tidy, and well presented with every facility we needed. I would add a plug socket nearer to the bed if at all possible. Breakfast was chaotic due to people not waiting to be seated. Serving staff very helpful and working very hard but we did have to ask for fruit juice jugs to be filled as empty when we got there. Reception service was very good apart from Saturday morning where I asked receptionist if she could order us a taxi to the theatre which she did but you could see she was clearly displeased at having to do this and made unnecessary comments. On return to the hotel late afternoon, reception was back to their high standards and they ordered a taxi to take us to the Train Station on Sunday. We both slept very well as beds and mattresses are of high standard and windows kept out all noise. Check out was excellent on the Sunday. Overall I would give the hotel 9/10. We both loved it despite the two minor issues.

Fabulous location. We travelled as a family of 5. Just a short walk from kings cross. Room was lovely plenty of room for our 2 night stay, beds very comfortable. Loved the row of Georgian buildings situated in a lovely leafy area, just around the corner some lovely restaurants and shopping precinct. Breakfast was amazing , everything was perfect, sausages were to die for and the continental breakfast cheese we loved. Breakfast staff were lovely also. My only negative would be is breakfast room a little on small side and got quite warm in there, and table and chair legs we seemed to trip over. But will not stop us returning, we are planning our next visit.
