Sunday London Paddington Hotel

The fitness room was pathetic. The breakfast was awful , the worst eggs ever. The staff serving breakfast were very poor. The area to eat breakfast in the basement was poor The coffee facilities were poor - you need Nespresso machines . A very poor bar. Very over priced. I will not stay here again

On arrival there was confusion about my booking. For a "deluxe" single room it was disappointing. At breakfast there were paper cups for the orange juice and water. Breakfast was also not that great. There was no lift to the 4th floor where my room was. The room was very hot, and the only positive was that the hotel was in a fairly quiet street and close to Paddington.

Hotel was great in a fab location to Paddington station. Staff friendly and very helpful nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are lovely with lots of amenities fridge, microwave, kettle, safe and hairdryer with good storage. The hotel its self is a labyrinth. We had to go up the lift to come down stairs to get to room. If you need a lift you get to your room this hotel would not be for you, if not don’t let this put you off.

Arrived, checkin was slow. Then I was giving a room not in the main hotel but across the road. There was no lift, hallways weren’t clean, walls were thin. The worst though, the air conditioning didn’t work, the room was sweltering, a lot hotter than it was outside.

If you like M C Escher this is your hotel. Striped carpets and mirrors and mini staircases were abundant. Restaurant was only open for breakfast and bar was not open while we were there. However the location was great, just minutes walk to tons of restaurants and Paddington station.

Small no frills hotel in perfect location. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and 8 mins walk to Paddington Tube and Elisabeth line. Comfortable and clean. Nice selection at breakfast and staff constantly on the go. Gets busy at peak time and not enough tables so people asked to return. Gym is a tiny room, 1 treadmill, 1 bike, 1 cross trainer and an incomplete set of light dumbells. Cant really call it a gym, it was air-conditioned and had water and towels.

Pros: Very convenient to Paddington station. Quiet area The hotel was very clean. Our room looked fairly modern and renovated recently. There was a hot cooked breakfast daily (English style breakfast, cereals, cheeses, fresh fruit and pastries), but the variety never changed. Cons: The carpets have seen better days, and are a tripping hazard, especially on the stairs. We stayed on 3rd floor which meant having to haul our luggage up half a flight of stairs as the lift did not reach the ground floor. Very inconvenient if you have heavy bags. The hallway and our room had plug in air fresheners, which triggered multiple asthma attacks. The air freshener in our room was hidden under the desk, and not visible. There was no instructions on how to turn on the bathroom fan for post shower ventilation. It was unclear if the bathroom even had a fan.

Hotel room was very warm, AC didn’t work, mini fridge did not work, so food spoiled. Shower didn’t drain well, constantly had to turn off the water and wait to continue showering. Room was smaller than a Hub by Premier Inn. Never staying here again.

Didn’t have internet for a full day, ask for charges the breakfast only one day, said it is not possible. No cell phone services in the hotel and no internet was a horrible experience

I was shocked to discover that this hotel doesn’t have an elevator for certain rooms on higher floors, and no, it wasn’t out of order or under maintenance. There simply isn’t one! When I checked in, the staff informed me that my room was on the 3rd floor of an extension building with no lift access. That meant I had to carry my luggage up the stairs and go up and down every time I left or returned to the room. Some parts of the hotel do have elevators, but unfortunately, my section didn’t. To make things worse, the next morning at breakfast, I had to wait in a long queue for at least 20 minutes just to get a table. Once seated, the staff were clearly rushing guests to eat quickly and leave, so they could free up space. As a frequent traveler who regularly stays in this area, I can honestly say this was my worst experience so far. The price was the same as nearby hotels, but without any of the convenience or comfort. There was no value for money whatsoever.

The room was extremely well appointed with everything you could need. The cleanliness was amazing. All dealings with staff were very friendly and efficient.

The room was damp - corridors to rooms cramped and shower and room had bluebottles flying around. Really dissapointing

We had 2 rooms on the 7th floor with fantastic views and the staff were nice but housekeeping fell short of a 4 star hotel. After our first night housekeeping did not remove or replace dirty glasses and mugs or replace water and tea. I had to call the desk about it. The third day we went touring through London and returned exhausted at 3.30pm and the rooms were not made up. The housekeepers excuse was they had to clean the check out rooms. That is not an excuse as check in isn’t until 3pm. So we had to disappear for an hour or so for the room to be attended to. Upon return we laid down for a rest only to have them knock and come in to see if everything was ok. In the meantime my son had given a load of laundry to a housekeeping staff who went off to get the list which he said wasn’t necessary to fill in. But we should have taken a look at it as they charged us over £400, so please be aware! When we finally went to bed that night the sheets were wet! So we had to wait for them to change the sheets for us. We booked this holiday from Canada for our grandson’s 6th birthday and for us to reconnect with friends and family. My son said to me “don’t be booking any crappy hotel” so I booked your 4 star hotel which unfortunately did not meet our expectations as the housekeeping was not up to par and spoiled what could have been a wonderful trip.

We were staying in the basement room in which we had very minimal access to wifi, the walls were covered in damp and it was extremely hard to get down the stairs provided. The bedding spelt like cigarettes and didn’t feel clean.

Bad experience with a room with a damp patch on the wall and a falling apart mattress. Avoid!

“Deluxe” room was very basic. Room wasn’t clean stains on bed and hair on floor. Room did not look like the pictures as advertised

Small room in the basement, not very clean and tired looking with stains on the wall - damp issue? At least the bathroom looked relatively new and clean. This is meant to be 4 star hotel, so expected more. Also the mini fridge has a glass door, so lights up the whole room, which is not ideal for a good night sleep!

There were drain flies in the room and despite reporting it on numerous occasions during our stay I am still waiting for the manager to call me back. The staff were polite and friendly but were unable to move us. It overshadowed our anniversary stay at the hotel, which was a shame because the location was excellent.

The room was so small. It was hard to even open a regular suitcase. The room was dirty and full of dust.

The staff at the hotel were so friendly and accomodating. We were kindly offered complimentary breakfast on checkin but kindly declined as we had prior plans. We returned late after a concert and the staff went and got us some biscuits and fruit which was so lovely. Our room was clean and had everything we needed including a microwave! A little tired looking in some places but not unclean. Beds were super comfy and the water was hot. Would stay again 🙂

Great soundproof room couldn’t hear outside noise but could hear every movement in room above me as my room was in basement

Room 317 next to ac units and chillers - very noisey

We stayed in a Club Double Room and it was very small and the bathroom was tiny (about 2m x 1m!) Not what I would have expected paying for a Club Double. I don't know how small the Cosy Double or the Deluxe Double would have been! The room was nice though, we had a Super King bed and a free bottle of wine because it was Valentines Day

We had a comfortable stay, only exception would be no wifi in the room.

My room was very small and didn’t feel like a 4-star hotel. There was hair in my sink when I arrived. The wifi was shocking, very slow and you couldn’t even look something up on Google maps or go on social media. One of the lights above the bed was flickering and I did report it. The staff at reception told me they’d look into it but the flickering remained during my entire stay… I was also woken up at midnight by two people, who rang my doorbell repeatedly and tried to get into my room. Don’t stay in a basement room as you can hear footsteps from the floor above…

Bit of confusion on the checking in as we were two couples the first stay we had a very small room hardly any room to move about the second stay was slightly better but not great, the air conditioning was not working properly and although reported nothing was done for the nights we were there although the checking in staff were helpful, not a place that I would choose to stay again

The staff were pleasant but I have to say the room they put in left something to be desired. I was okay that the one window didn't have a view but the single pane window meant that I could hear the generators on a near by roof all night long. Also the heating in the room often LEFT via that single pain of glass. Fix that and it would be okay that I had a tiny little room.

Convenient location for walking access to rail and underground at Paddington Station. Clean, good service, however the double room I was in was very small, and the couples bed was full size, not queen - may be a little tight for many Americans.

The properties in an outstanding location short walk to Paddington Station where you can connect to trains and buses that will take you all over London. However, this is an old property. There are no lifts in the main lobby and there are steps that you have to negotiate. The rooms are tiny! I’m talking tiny even for the UK and Europe. The pictures from the outside are a bit deceiving. There are no fancy amenities other than a small coffee shop and a patio.

The hotel is ok, all facilities worked and was all very functional. Front desk pretty rude though both when checking in and checking out.

They overbooked the hotel so when I turned up there was no room

I left some property at the hotel. That's my fault. So I called to arrange for them to find it so I could come and pick it up. 17 times I had to call to get them to pick the phone up the first time. When I did finally get someone to answer the phone, the person I spoke to said to call back in about 15 minutes to give him chance to speak to house keeping. Okay, no problem. It then took another 8 times to get them to answer the phone. There's no way to leave a message either because when the call goes to voicemail after just 6 rings you get "this mailbox is full" The overall experience of the hotel was fine, but don't let the pictures on google decieve you. The rooms are tiny, but taken with a wide-angle lens so they look bigger. You're about a 10 minute walk from Paddington station which is served by National Rail services, The Elizabeth, District, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines.

Checking in was a nightmare. Took forever to find bookings, then tried to move a colleague to another hotel. 2 colleagues ended up with bad rooms - one in a basement and neither were the level they paid for. Rooms extremely hot, no way to cool them. Breakfast service was shocking. Prices extortionate. Wouldn’t stay again

Was a lovely stay. Received amazing service from staff as soon as I arrived and even when I had already left as I had left something in my room and had to go back for it even tho it had been hrs since I left.

Told upon arrival at Park Grand Paddington rooms were not available due to rain damage. Staff was completely disorganized, would not recommend this property.

My hotel of choice whenever in London! Special mention for Kazi and Sofia - very friendly and professional!!

Upon arrival at the hotel we were told they no longer had a room for us and we had been moved to their sister hotel over half an hour away. No notification of this at all

I enjoyed my stay at this property. The staff was great and I will be staying here again on my next trip to London

We arrived at 2:45 in the afternoon and were informed that we would have to wait 15 minutes in order to receive our room at check-in time which was 3 PM. We sit down in the lobby waiting. At 2:50 PM a number of other people entered, were registered and received their room keys before 3 PM. I had to stand up at the counter to get the attention of the attendant to register and get into our room Too much rigidity.

Booked property thro expedia for 2 nights to go to Wimbledon tennis. It was a very good location..within walking distance to Paddington station & underground and convenient to Hyde Park.

5 minute walk from Paddington Station and down the street from Hyde park.

Great stay, great rooms and helpfull and friendly staff! Easy to get to and from Heathrow as the Paddington station is a 5 min walk from the hotel! Top notch!

Stay was excellent staff were good l have stayed there 5 times before Breakfast could do with more variety l only had breakfast one morning

Room very small Bed and pillows soft/ comfortable Good location as not too far from Paddington station and easy to find Conveniently looked after my bags after check out Breakfast could have had a few extra options - bacon was dry, baked beans cold and coffee was not great. Would be good to have a sign at one of the entrances to the breakfast room to say that you need to queue at the other entrance Not bad price for London

The staff are lovely and accommodating and the breakfast was excellent especially for the price. Negative points are that my room faced onto the noisiest air conditioning unit that rattled the entire night and really interrupted my sleep and the under floor heating in the bathroom was not working and so the bathroom was too cold to use. It was arctic in there! Really nice having slippers but a bathrobe to go with these would be great.

Excellent location within easy walking distance of Paddington station and Lancaster Gate tube. Staff very professional. Room small but spotlessly clean. Good breakfast included in rate. Will stay again.

Really good location. We were there attending a concert in the park really easy to get too. Also easy to get to paddington for getting around to see the sights. Hotel room was lovely and was clean! Breakfast was tasty. Would have liked it to be on until a little later 10 seems a bit early when your away! Staff were helpful and friendly. Would happily return. Thank you

We loved this hotel. Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. We were placed in a room on street level and it was very noisy late at night.

There was much confusion and long wait at check in. It seemed most people were facing the same problem. Staff was ok but seemed unwilling to offer help and seemed to laugh at people who were inconvenienced. Very little instruction on finding the rooms. It was a maze. There was no help with bags and there were several long flights of stairs to get to the lift. Disorganized!!!!! The breakfast was good as long as you got there early. Some items were not replaced when they were gone. Never again
