The staff in the bar area were great with the kids. Food was good 👍 Our room was so noisy with people next door and upstairs walking about only not even trying to be noisy just the building was creeky! the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows lumpy. Check in and out was easy, free parking plenty of spaces . We didnt sleep great due to uncomfortable bed, bathroom tired and needed updating. Probably would stay elsewhere next time but for the price you get what you pay for .

Cheap, cheerful and basic. Fixtures and fittings were tired, but hotel well located for Alton Towers. Attached to a hungry horse pub with plenty of free parking. We ate in the pub in the evening - that wasn’t cheap, and the service was very slow.

Booked this cheap 2 night stay to be near Alton Towers. Its a 20 minute drive from Alton Towers but that was perfect for us. The room was clean although very warm at night due to no aircon but we did have a fan in there. We were facing the front of the hotel so no road traffic noise however did get slightly disturbed a couple of times on the first morning at 7/7.30 from people going through the front door . The staff are all so friendly at the hotel and the pub. We sat in the garden for a few hours having drinks on the first evening and then had dinner in the pub . We then had breakfast at the pub on the first morning. Lovely food all round, and very decent prices. Definitely a good place to stay as a base for places like Alton Towers or the monkey forest nearby.

Lovely and warm. Comfy bed and spacious room. Not ideal location if wanting to walk to a pub but minutes away from local pubs in a taxi. Having a well known restaurant in the hotel was fantastic and good meal but disappointed they didn’t have the doughnut dessert but luckily Tesco is just across the road.

This hotel is attached to a weatherspoons so no food issues with all the staff being very friendly and helpful. Sadely the late breakfast start times do not give me time to sample that option as I had a funtion to attend nearby. I wish the breakfast start was the same for weekends as weekdays as I am sure many have early starts at weekends.

Great place to use as a base and to sleep while exploring or in our case visting alton towers. Rooms were comfy and clean but could do with a lick of paint. Baths are very slippey and should include a bath mat. Staff are friendly, restaurant downstairs is. Wry good for breakfast dinner and drinks.

Nice, cheap hotel with Hungry Horse franchised pub/restaurant attached. Staff very helpful and friendly and food prices very reasonable. Nice convenient location for us as visiting Stafford showground (about 12 miles) and also went to Chatsworth house which was expensive, but well worth a visit

Hi, I brought my two year old daughter ahead ahead of a trip to Alton Towers, for a one-night stay. Check in was friendly and we had room service from the bar menu as (I think) kids weren’t allowed in the bar by the time we were ready to eat. Again, the staff who delivered the meal were friendly.

Rather run down pub but bedroom was clean,good size,quiet,brilliant water pressure in the shower over the bath,hot water,perfectly good breakfast. Was fine for our needs- a bed enroute to an appointment. Meal I had was similar to a Tesco takeout at similar price,husband really enjoyed his scampi. Friendly,helpful staff.

The hotel was disgusting, there was dirt everywhere, a broken window and also stains on the white bedsheets. The hotel had promised a refund as myself and my partner went to stay in a different hotel. However no refund was provided. This was a terrible hotel and the cleanliness was horrendous.

Checked in and paid but left within an hour. The building looked ‘tired’ and quite run down outside and reception area wasn’t great. Once we got to our room, neither my partner nor I wanted to stay. The room was awful. Dirty net curtains with mould on the bottoms and broken and coming off from the wire holding it up. All furniture very dated and in poor condition. TV looked well used and dated. Carpets didn’t look too clean and the bathroom was tiny. Old fittings and again, mould on the shower curtain. No drawers to store clothes or belongings in and to be honest, the photos on the website looked to be taken some while ago compared to what you actually see on arrival. Generally grubby and run down and we just couldn’t feel comfortable enough to stay. £137 for 2 nights paid but we left within an hour.

Staff were very courteous and the room was clean and tidy. The only thing was the hot water had a warning that it was hot, but even with the shower turned all the way to cold it was still too hot to get in. Thankfully there was a bath with separate hot and cold taps.

The room had a damp dirty smell. The bathroom was tired and had floors coming away from walls. The plug sockets were limited and dangerously placed directly behind the kettle station. Paint work and radiators were old, damaged and rusty. The beds were dirty and hard. The room was very hot could only open a small window for fresh air. The hotel was run down and very unkempt.

No problem on late check in. We arrived after midnight, pressed the intercom and the staff asked for the name then came and opened the door to welcome us in. Took a few minutes for the staff to locate the documents and provide the room key and the pin code for the front door. The room key is a proper key and not the electronic credit card size key. The bed was medium firm but the mattress round the back area have dipped a bit but not enough to say discomfort. Just different to what I'm used to. The only down side is the noise from the first floor. You can hear the footsteps from the first floor occupants.

Rooms are very worn and tired. Could really do with an upgrade or refurbishment. Have stayed there a few times over the years due to its convenient location to family, but it has really declined done i was last there.

Accommodation was generally acceptable. Everything worked okay and beds sufficiently comfortable. The room decoration though could do with being freshened up (also dirty/moldy net curtains). The staff were helpful but reception is frequently not manned - there is a phone there, but not always quick to respond.

We've stayed here before and it's quite convenient for Stafford show ground. It's a budget pub/hotel, but it's great value and the staffs are lovely. Becca is really excellent and has befriended a few off the older locals and helps them along with advice and a chat. It's not posh, but then it's very cheap. We'll be going back 👍

Everything was perfect to be fair . Standard but perfect . Only thing to moan about was on arrival the reception seems to be ran by the manager that also works the pub . We arrived tea time friday and the pub was busy . Myself and my partner and anotuer family had to wait a good 15 / 20 mins before anybody came to check us in

The reviews were clear, so we didn't expect much, and this was just a 1 night stopover. No receptionist when we arrived, phone through to the pub took a while to answer. Room condition was poor, outdated, tired, with holes in the plaster where the door handle and hot, and a half-hearted attempt at some repainting, which didn't come close to matching. Lots of dips in the floor; headboard creaked loudly when leant against; mattress soft and lumpy. Surprisingly, though, we slept quite well. Staff (mainly in the pub) were generally friendly and helpful, and breakfast was fine.

Room condition was poor, outdated, tired, with holes in the plaster where the door handle and hot, and a half-hearted attempt at some repainting, which didn't come close to matching. Lots of dips in the floor; headboard creaked loudly when leant against; mattress soft and lumpy. Surprisingly, though, we slept quite well. Staff (mainly in the pub) were generally friendly and helpful, and breakfast was fine.

The hotel was exactly what we needed for a family trip to Alton towers. Comfy bed to sleep in and the food was great. Cannot thank Robyn enough, she went above and beyond to help us with our booking issues when we arrived can kept us updated. She was fab!

The place is so convenient and I would stay again but I will say the downstairs had a constant smell of bins and mouldy fruit. My little son just had to constantly hold his nose. Not sure what’s going on. The staff are friendly but the business model isn’t for them to be on hand. Value for money though if you just want somewhere to sleep and well located for Alton towers with easy parking, then it ticks the box. Bed is comfortable also

Booked this cheap 2 night stay to be near Alton Towers. Its a 20 minute drive from Alton Towers but that was perfect for us. The room was clean although very warm at night due to no aircon but we did have a fan in there. We were facing the front of the hotel so no road traffic noise however did get slightly disturbed a couple of times on the first morning at 7/7.30 from people going through the front door . The staff are all so friendly at the hotel and the pub. We sat in the garden for a few hours having drinks on the first evening and then had dinner in the pub . We then had breakfast at the pub on the first morning. Lovely food all round, and very decent prices. Definitely a good place to stay as a base for places like Alton Towers or the monkey forest nearby.

This Hotel was an ideal location for Alton Towers. Lovely friendly staff. Room could do with an update. Board falling off under sink. Big stain on ceiling upon entry into room. Good clean bedding. Slept well. Excellent Shower. I would stop again. Perfect for a budget stopover

Lovely and warm. Comfy bed and spacious room. Not ideal location if wanting to walk to a pub but minutes away from local pubs in a taxi. Having a well known restaurant in the hotel was fantastic and good meal but disappointed they didn’t have the doughnut dessert but luckily Tesco is just across the road.

Good stay, nice place to stay for Alton Towers, not to expensive and close to McDonalds, Tesco and 24 hour petrol all very handy if trying to keep the costs down. Room was simple but clean and very comfortable.

Really handy for a stay ahead of a trip to Alton Towers. Ideally located just off of main road. Very close to Tesco etc although weather was so awful it was hard to tell. Staff all very friendly especially in pub. Absolutely fine for a nights stay

Nice, cheap hotel with Hungry Horse franchised pub/restaurant attached. Staff very helpful and friendly and food prices very reasonable. Nice convenient location for us as visiting Stafford showground (about 12 miles) and also went to Chatsworth house which was expensive, but well worth a visit

Bed was very comfortable but as the hotel is located at a busy junction there is the constant noise of traffic. Room was clean, apart from the window, which was filthy! No sockets near the bed. Bear minimum tea, coffee etc, no decaf coffee. Tap in bathroom was loose, no loo brush provided & loo roll was extremely cheap (take your own). The room was extremely hot on arrival. Breakfast was edible. You have to toast your own bread & the toaster took ages. No orange juice available. Restaurant is in desperate need of refurbishment. It is extremely tatty. You have to collect your own cuttler from a tray (very unhygienic). Evening meal was very good and plenty of food on plate. Good variety and reasonably priced. We ordered via the app, drinks arrived almost immediately but the waitress had spilled them on the tray. We had to ask for beer mats to prevent dripping. Some staff were a little abrupt, others were pelasant & polite.

Cheap, cheerful and basic. Fixtures and fittings were tired, but hotel well located for Alton Towers. Attached to a hungry horse pub with plenty of free parking. We ate in the pub in the evening - that wasn’t cheap, and the service was very slow.

This hotel is attached to a weatherspoons so no food issues with all the staff being very friendly and helpful. Sadely the late breakfast start times do not give me time to sample that option as I had a funtion to attend nearby. I wish the breakfast start was the same for weekends as weekdays as I am sure many have early starts at weekends.

The property is a little shabby and could do with updating. The furniture is old and battered with the condition of the rooms looking just as old. On the plus side, the shower was amazing and the bedding clean. Wasn’t a huge fan of my feet sticking to the floor in the pub next door!

Property was a bit tired and dated but clean. Shower was brilliant! Greeted by a very friendly receptionist. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative was lots of youths vaping in the bar and restaurant areas.

Basic hotel was just a stop to visit Alton towers rooms were so warm had a fan which we had to leave on all night which was noisy but no choice with heat. food and drinks was good value but a long wait both nights on food and drink.
