Origin Atlanta, a Wyndham Hotel

Noisy party half the night. Room was freezing and thermostat did not work. Water in the shower was ice cold. Parking rate of $45 a night is ridiculous. View of a brick wall from room. Limited food options. Do Not Stay Here.

The valet service is a must, do not trust the surface lot across the street. The property is nice but the area isn’t the best. The amount of homelessness in downtown was shocking. The housekeeper never came, the front desk staff was okay; definitely not welcoming but weren’t rude either. Overall, I would stay again but be prepared $$$

The gym was amazing and perfect. The rooms were great and modern (although the king I had was so small 2 people couldn’t pass without having to step out of the way and the air conditioner kept cycling so our room was very hot. I had someone come fix it but the air went off every 90 min or so and so while sleeping we were sweating. Staff was so nice. The hotel was new and clean

Hot water wasn’t working in the shower. We contacted the front desk at 7pm and were advised maintenance would be sent shortly. We called the front desk at 8:30 pm, were told maintenance was working on another room and we would be next. We checked out at 9:33 am never heard from maintenance or the front desk.

I stayed here during Dragoncon 2025 since it was the only available hotel and the reviews looked decent. The hotel had only been open about a month before my stay, which probably explains the limited number of reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. When I arrived, the front desk staff struggled with my check-in and seemed inexperienced, and even the general manager who assisted had a noticeable stain on his shirt, which felt unprofessional. I checked in early and left my luggage at the front desk, but was made uncomfortable when I was asked what was inside. Retrieving my luggage later took quite some time. The room was very dusty with no windows, making it feel claustrophobic and triggering my allergies because of the poor air quality. The location also felt unsafe, with a lot of homeless people visible nearby. Things didn’t improve with the facilities. For three consecutive mornings, there was no hot water in the shower. I called the front desk and was told it was due to too many people using the showers, which felt like a poor excuse. I tried asking for the manager but was told only the engineers could help, and even after keeping the water running for 15 minutes, it stayed cold. When it did finally warm up, it lasted less than two minutes before turning cold again. The breakfast from the hotel restaurant was another letdown: I was served tiny pancakes that tasted like they had just come from a microwave rather than being freshly made.

The hotel has a very cool, contemporary industrial aesthetic. The staff was without exception, very friendly, professional, and engaging. The food at the restaurant was decent, but nothing to write home about. Unfortunately, my one major grip would keep me from staying there again. At best we were able to get some warm water in the shower, but it alternated between hot and cold during the daytime. On Friday night when we returned from a music festival much in need of a shower, the water was ice cold with no hot water whatsoever. Looking back through reviews it seems that this is a known issue and one they have not yet addressed, so I would not return to this property until I were as Certain that problem had been resolved.

The location was great, everything I needed was within walking distance. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the avocado toast, which was fresh and flavorful. I didn’t try lunch or dinner, as the kitchen closes at 2 p.m., but breakfast left a great impression. The staff were warm and welcoming. Miss Tracy at the front desk and the gentleman who checked me out were especially kind. Service was a bit slow, but the hotel is still new and seemed short-staffed, which is understandable. That said, there were a few drawbacks. There was no hot water in my room during the entire stay, even after notifying the front desk. The walls are also extremely thin. I could clearly hear neighbors, and the evening socials were particularly loud. It made it difficult to unwind at night. Housekeeping never came, despite the hotel’s policy of service every three days. While the towels were very soft, I expected a mid-stay refresh that didn’t happen. With time and improvements, this hotel could be a great option. The location, design, staff, and breakfast all stood out. I’d consider staying again if the noise, water, and housekeeping issues are addressed.

everything was great but the hot water only worked intermittently. might be dependent on others guests usage or something as it would only come one for a couple mins then cut off for a couple mins. aside from the cold shower it was very nice and is centrally located.

I called the front desk and was told maintenance would be up shortly. After waiting about an hour, I called again to ask about switching rooms but was told none were available. When maintenance finally arrived, they couldn’t fix the TV, and only then did we get moved to another room. In the second room, I grabbed a towel only to find it stained and clearly not clean, which was very unsettling. We did enjoy a meal at the hotel restaurant, which had a great vibe, good food, and excellent service. Our server even told us about a brunch happening the next day. However, when my husband went down, he was told it was closed due to staffing. Later that day, we saw the restaurant had reopened, but now it was “cards only” for payment—even though we had paid in cash the night before. We also asked about housekeeping and were told it was too late to request service for the day, which added to the frustration.because it was only around 11:00am Overall, while there were some positives, the lack of consistency, poor communication, and issues with cleanliness and service made this stay very disappointing.

We got there at 9pm first room was not what we ordered so they change the room to the family suit like what we order and it was trash food all over the floor trash I pay for suite come to check in at 9pm the room was need to be ready and prepared for us this place is a joke and I will get my money back

I didn’t like that I had to go to the front desk several times each day of my stay to have room keys rekeyed because I couldn’t get in my room or parking validation because I couldn’t get in or out of the parking lot. I also did not like that my room was never cleaned during my 3 night stay even after a formal request was made on day 3 (Saturday). The young lady who checked me in on Thursday 8/21 & the older lady who relieved Marquis on 8/23 had horrible attitudes The shining star at this hotel was Marquis who went above and beyond to try and made the bad experience I endured better.

Hotel wasn’t adequately cleaned. The floor in my room, bathroom, and hallways was visibly dirty. I found hair on my “clean” towels and all over the shower. There were no cleaning wipes in the gym, handprints all over the mirror, water pooled on the floor.

Stayed at this new property for business and met all of my needs exceptionally! Beautiful decor and Atlanta touches throughout. The guest room is well appointed and even has a Nespresso coffee machine and a rain shower head. The restaurant, Social Capital, was delicious! I tried several of the dishes while there and not one disappointed me. Staff were attentive, kind and authentic. They made it a point to ensure my satisfaction. This was appreciated! When my travels bring me back to ATL, I will be staying here. Hands down!! What a great addition to this area!

Hotel seemed to be in an unfinished state. No ramps at entrances. Terrible night sleep because of room lighting switch and odd noise from fixture in bathroom. Shared info on checkout comments, no attempt at follow up or outreach from staff. Would not recommend, will avoid Wyndham properties given lackluster experience.

Would never stay here again, you get what you pay for. Unsafe neighborhood, no safe free parking, noisy environment. Could not sleep all night due to noise of an “happy hour” event that went until midnight.

The rooms were awesome. Very spacious and comfortable. Everything is brand new and clean. The staff was amazing, so nice and accommodating. This will be my go to hotel in Atlanta moving forward!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was brand new so the experience was fresh and clean. The restaurant had great breakfast and lunch options and I really enjoyed their lounge. Space in the lobby area rooms are big and spacious. Bathroom mirrors have Bluetooth connected so that’s a nice touch. Accessible to any of the state buildings I would definitely be back.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating—especially Front Desk Staff members who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped with everything I needed. Location-wise, the hotel is perfect. The amenities were also top-notch: Comfortable beds Clean and spacious bathroom Overall, I would highly recommend Origin Atlanta, a Wyndham Hotel to anyone visiting Atlanta—whether for business or vacation. However, when my husband went down, he was told it was closed due to staffing. Later that day, we saw the restaurant had reopened, but now it was “cards only” for payment—even though we had paid in cash the night before. We also asked about housekeeping and were told it was too late to request service for the day, which added to the frustration.because it was only around 11:00am Overall, while there were some positives, the lack of consistency, poor communication, and issues with cleanliness and service made this stay very disappointing.

The room was clean, staff was really nice, no complaints about that… My problems started a few days before I even checked in when I was charged 440$ for a room that I was supposed to pay for upon arrival and the stay for two nights was half of that amount. I was refunded the money after a few days but that’s not the point, it shouldn’t happen in the first place. Then I arrive with my family and two dogs and I’m told that I have to pay 150$ a night for my dogs when it clearly states on Expedia that the charge was 50$ per stay per dog and 75$ for incidentals which I understand and agreed to it. Well again I was charged twice the 150$ for the and twice for incidentals, never happened to me before and I hate complaining but I had to this time, again I had to wait a few days to be refunded more money that shouldn’t be charged in the first place, needles to say I won’t be staying at this property again.

The hotel was acceptable and in good Location. However, during the check in the hotel tried to charge me for the stay , of which I have already paid through hotels.com via Expedia. I really had to explain myself and went on a journey of having to prove that I have already paid for the stay. I was then ask to leave a deposit payment , normal. However , after I have checked out , I did inquire about the deposit payment refund - I was not too confident with the hotel. Due to the effort I had to make to proved I had already paid for my stay, during the check in. I was informed that my deposit would be refund and that there was no problem. Two days later , was deposit was not refund but it was doubled. As I was not far from the hotel- I went back to clarify the situation. Only for them to quickly explained that it was a fault with Expedia. It was not clear to why at all. Left a rather sour experience. The staff was rather unprofessional as I had to pursue to proved that mistake was made on their end. It made me wonder, how many times this mistake was made on travellers not from Atlanta.

I had a great stay at this hotel and highly recommend it. quiet, convenient, and super cute. Marquis at the front desk is a gem - he is super warm (c'mon Southern hospitality) and helpful.

I am summarizing our first 45 min at your hotel: 1- You initially assigned the wrong reservation 2- You wanted to charge a security deposit that was two times greater than the one needed. 3- it took you 25 min just to find my reservation when we had given you the correct information 4- The room key did not work initially and had to go back to the lobby 5- Th second room key did not work either. Had to go to the lobby a third time. 6- You assigned us the wrong room number and that is why we had to go to the lobby three times to "fix the key" 7- We reserved a King size bed and you did not give us a king size bed. This is extremely unacceptable as an Expedia platinum member we usually expect more.

Great property in a great location. Very close and conveniently located downtown and in walking distance to my event that we attended. This location felt very safe we had our toddler daughter on this trip. Food & drinks were amazing in at in house restaurant, Social Capitol Bistro. Great team, great vibes, we will return.

Very nice hotel, the location not all that pleasing to the eye but the hotel itself is esthetically appealing, the room was clean, the staff was nice and helpful. They informed us of the option to self park for $25 vs the $40 valet parking which is in the same parking lot directly across the street. My husband-man loved the soft towels.

We recently booked a stay at the Origins Hotel while moving our son into college. The hotel itself was clean and modern, and what stood out most to us was the staff — every person we interacted with was kind, professional, and genuinely accommodating. Unfortunately, the surrounding neighborhood didn’t feel as secure as we needed, especially since we had a car packed with all of our son’s belongings. The staff completely understood our concern and went above and beyond to help us check out early without any hassle. Their compassion and willingness to work with us made a stressful situation much easier to handle. While the location wasn’t the right fit for our circumstances, I want to commend the team at Origins for their professionalism and empathy. Their customer service was excellent, and that truly makes a difference.

This hotel was found last minute. Stayed 2 nights and it was great. The bed and room very comfortable. The place is beautiful and very well kept. They have a bar/restaurant which we only had breakfast both days and it was great. Recommend it.

New hotel, wonderful amenities. Comfortable, safe, very clean. Hotel has a restaurant called the Social Capital where I ate breakfast and dinner and was served by the most friendly staff. They were very attentive and provided amazing service. Food was delicious. The room was more spacious than I anticipated with lush bedding and thoughtful touches to make my stay comfortable. I appreciate the extra hooks in bathroom and nice desk in the room. It is also stylish…minimal without feeling stark. I will definitely stay here again!I imagine the rate was so reasonable due to it being new because it was nicer than many hotels I have stayed who charge three times as much!
