Right next to the subway extremely convenient. Customer service was amazing very friendly, very hospitable, very informative, and all together welcoming. Help me to my room with my 3 suitcases didn’t have to ask. Love the fact they have a really good gym and breakfast is all you can eat and pretty good quality. Anytime I come back to London I’ll be staying here!

Lovely hotel..good selection at breakfast. Liked the extra security in lifts having to scan room cards before it would move. Room comfortable, bathroom cleanliness not 100% but ok. Only negative bar staff very slow to serve and make drinks. Happy hour not explained or advertised properly...only 2 for 1 for the same drink! Cant order 2 different cocktails on the offer. Overall hotel lovely

We were out for lunch and needed somewhere to stay for the night and the Clayton was a perfect location for us. Staff amazing but drinks in the bar were way too expensive. Shower and soap etc was execellent.

It was hard to get in the hotel at night. Chain fence around the block it is on. Hotel has no road frontage to even find it. Area not the best around hotel. They need to make a way to get into the building from the back side, especially at night.

Good nights sleep, huge bathroom with separate toilet, huge stand alone shower, really large bathtub in a separate room, plus a sink in another room, and king bed (comfortable except for the bedbugs). TV allows casting. Really close to Aldgate East on the District line, but look out for weekend closures. Walking distance to the Tower and Tower Bridge. The room is quite dark even with all lights on. Thermostat only goes to 21.5 c and resets to 18.5 c at night so you wake up to a cold room. The shower leaks freely into the next room because there is a seal missing on the bottom of the door - I used the floor mat to seal the leak. Management took my bedbugs report seriously and promises to do fumigation, to their credit. Except for the bedbugs, the room appeared clean. The Clayton City does not front on any street! Car services must drop you off and pick you up on the back side of the block, leaving you to figure out how to find the entrance to the hotel and get your baggage there. Uber directions are wrong - two drivers were directed to a different street. And with construction and security issues some of the sidewalks are blocked. This is not a good neighborhood to wander about at night.

I stayed in this hotel in the Deluex Double Room for five days and four nights on May 14-18, 2024. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is averaged. There are obvious stains on the towel, which are basically unuseable. The size of the double bed is small, the mattress and pillow are not comfortable, very hard, and can't sleep well at night. The shower in the bathroom is not strong enough, but there is a supply of hand sanitiser, shower gel, body cream and shampoo. The front desk service is average. The receptionist's attitude is unfriendly. We didn't feel warmly treated. The hotel room service cleaners were impolite. The only thing worth adding to the front desk service is that it was supposed to be check-in at 2pm and check-out at 11am. They gave us an early check-in and lately checkout at 12 noon. Another place worth adding point is that the hotel's buffet breakfast is delicious and good. The price of the hotel is high, which is not worth on it. The overall service is only average. I believe that there should be a better choice for the same price. I believe I will choose other better hotels when I come to London next time. The sound insulation of the hotel is average, and the sound of closing other rooms is often heard from time to time.

Unfortunately, we were awakened by a false fire alarm 4 times in the middle of the night during our stay. This led us having to climb down several floors in the emergency exit 4 times...each time, the hotel staff said "false alarm" and please go back to bed...HOW do they expect someone to return back to sleep after a disruption like that? As a token for the inconvenience, they offered a "free drink" on the house...a decent gesture, but I don't think it went far enough. More importantly, the shower had mold on the walls and crevices...gross. Better cleanliness and hygiene should be expected. Should expect better for price paid. On a positive note, the location was excellent...only a short street crossing to get to the Underground train station.

The hotel is nice and in a good location. However the room was clean and well equipped, however the room was very warm and I was not able to adjust the temperature. In addition whilst the bed was comfortable the pillows were not. At £300 you would hope for a good nights sleep which unfortunately I did not have .

Very friendly staff and tube stop right outside of the door. Aldgate is an amazing area. Brick Lane, is just up the road, opening a plethora of dining options. Very well maintained and cleaned hotel. Some doors are a little hard to close, meaning you almost have to slam them. Pretty inconvenient for others. This might be nitpicking, but the biggest drawback I found was the minibar". It barely cools above room temp and this is a serious deal breaker for me. Apart from that, my 1 week stay was pretty much perfect. Didn't eat in the local restaurant so can't comment on that.

Great location close to the tube which makes travel around London very easy. Staff and service are very professional. Rooms are fabulous, extremely comfortable with great facilities. Only minor criticism is the TV service which frequently malfunctioned during my stay

There was a noise from the water system- whistling noise from the pipes - for most of the night which kept us awake. We reported it to reception who said we should have called and would have been moved rooms. We didn’t as we were already unpacked and in bed. Hopefully it is repaired soon as otherwise this is a great hotel.

Room was a bit small for what we are used to but I think that is standard for London. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast had enough options, some staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a quieter area but still easy to get around with the underground, enough restaurants and pubs around. Hotel is nice enough, but television in room did not work, so got moved and of the three televisions in our upgraded room (fair play)none actually connected to the service and only one allowed chrome cast. Receptionists the next day seemed to think this was funny as opposed to anything that required an apology.

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. The air conditioner barely works and will stay between 22-24. The windows do not open and it is unbelievably hot to the point where I had to check out early. The staff and manager said a refund will be given for the last night and after check out when I contacted them for the refund

The room was clean and comfortable. However we won’t be staying again as when I returned to collect our bags there were numerous customers luggage left unattended in reception. Then when I handed the tag over for my own luggage the member of staff available didn’t check the reference number with the luggage and tried to hand me someone else’s bags. Shocking level of security or concern for the belongings of their customers. They also took nearly two weeks to respond to my message about this on Expedia. Because of this we will not be staying here again on our return to London.

The staff was excellent!! Property was excellent, but I want to mention the staff. From the front counter to the bar and food staff, everything was excellent. Aktar - Supervisor in the bar/kitchen was just a great guy, and made our experience fantastic. His assistant, Malcom, was a gem as well. Later in the stay Filip Szaladzinski (Guest Experience) was a fellow musician, and very nice gentleman. There was one other person I wanted to mention but I didnt get her name. She was always there to greet us in the morning for breakfast. Without her, our group of 9 would be eating breakfast at other venues. She took very good care of us, and made our breakfast dining a true pleasure. Im sorry I forgot her name. Just a great experience all around. Thanks to all the staff at this great place. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND THE FOOD AND DRINKS.

She was always there to greet us in the morning for breakfast. Without her, our group of 9 would be eating breakfast at other venues. She took very good care of us, and made our breakfast dining a true pleasure. Im sorry I forgot her name. Just a great experience all around. Thanks to all the staff at this great place. A very nice, new hotel, a short walk from Tower Hill, and a few steps from Aldgate East Station. This area has transformed over recent years, and it's very accessible, with plenty of places to eat and drink on the doorstep. The hotel room was nicely decorated, with a VERY comfortable matress. Plenty of refreshments in the room, and a good shower. The breakfast was great value for money: a self-service buffet with lots of hot/cold choices. The special part of this hotel is the staff. At check in and check out, the reception staff were wonderfully charming. They made us feel relaxed, and all staff (including the restaurant staff) have been well-trained to smile and make the guests feel welcome. This can be quite unusual in London, and it was very nice to see that this important matter had not been overlooked. Congratulations to the management. My only regret is that I did not have my glasses on to read the name badges so that I could call out the special people. I got the impression that all staff would have been trained to a similar level though.

The only thing I will say, the property entrance is not located on an accessible by car location. We were dropped of behind the hotel, and we did not know where we were or how to get there. Thankfully a shop owner who said people have this issue told us where to go. Thats the only negative other than we we arrived, the staff at front desk did not greet us. Even though its self check in which was convenient, it’s nice to be welcomed or greeted at check in.

Great location close to the tube which makes travel around London very easy. Staff and service are very professional. Rooms are fabulous, extremely comfortable with great facilities. Only minor criticism is the TV service which frequently malfunctioned during my stay

Great boutique hotel. Not thrilled about the early check in fee but great location and space. Staff was friendly. Would definitely come back. Neighborhood is not the greatest and no parking in front of the hotel. Stay with a family of four and it felt great.

Property and staff are outstanding. Food was ok, breakfast is their best meal by far. I’d say the only real drawback is the area as it’s a bit noisy, I was 8 floors up and could hear a street party. Hotel is clean as well.

It was hard to get in the hotel at night. Chain fence around the block it is on. Hotel has no road frontage to even find it. Area not the best around hotel. They need to make a way to get into the building from the back side, especially at night.

Lovely hotel..good selection at breakfast. Liked the extra security in lifts having to scan room cards before it would move. Room comfortable, bathroom cleanliness not 100% but ok. Only negative bar staff very slow to serve and make drinks. Happy hour not explained or advertised properly...only 2 for 1 for the same drink! Cant order 2 different cocktails on the offer. Overall hotel lovely

We were out for lunch and needed somewhere to stay for the night and the Clayton was a perfect location for us. Staff amazing but drinks in the bar were way too expensive. Shower and soap etc was execellent.
