Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, rooms are clean and feel recently updated. The location is very convenient to the University of Toronto and Royal Ontario Museum, and very close to the fancy Yorkville shopping area. I would recommend trying to get a room some distance from the elevator. The noise of it whooshing up and down was annoying. My only other complaint is the utterly crazy price for valet parking. As a disabled person, hunting around for other options after a long day didn't seem like a great idea. But the price is really exorbitant, particularly when you're paying HST on top of it.

The Yorkville Royal Sonesta was great. The rooms are a good size and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel is beautiful. The fitness centre is small with only a couple weight machines, but a really good selection of free weights. It’s a bougie area of Toronto, so it meant not a ton of places to eat that weren’t super fancy, but it’s a really nice neighbourhood. Lots of shopping! Will definitely stay here again.

Clean and a very convenient location! Bar was great! Bartender Vlad was nice and very knowledgeable about the drinks he was mixing.We ordered something to eat and it was delicious! We walked all over the city site seeing for long days and the only thing I would have enjoyed at the end of the day would have been a hot tub.

Loved the swimming pool as Im a swimmer. Lived that there were 2 restaurants on site, one with a more upscale feel, one in a bar lounge, love the outdoor patio, love that its close to everyone restaurant cafes subway ttc. And has a 24 hour gym. Would love to see 1 or 2 more public reading nooks or lounge areas.

We had a great time there. The location is super convenient, but not crazy busy. The room we had was nice and spacious. Came with a mini bar/fridge which we used to store some small items. The room had 2 queen sized beds and a sofa bed as well. So lots of room for a family. The staff were really friendly and amazing. The front desk staff were super responsive, the housekeeping staff were very friendly and always asked us if we needed anything, and the restaurant staff were also very friendly and accomodating. I mean even the valet's were super friendly. I think the only thing that I could give a little gripe about was that the gym was quite small, and there were a couple of pieces of equipment that were not functioning in the pool and changeroom. I did let the front desk staff know upon checking out so I am sure if we ever return that those issues would get resolved. We had a great time, all of us, and it really is due to the staff.

They mark the valet area with cones. Once they wave you over the the Valet desk, officers are giving $120 tickets. Even if you stop for 30 seconds. The police swarm this Hotel. The haveva passion for ticketing people at this location. There was no TV remote till 9pm after asking several times. The pool had paid swimming lessons taking place! We couldnt swim with out duaghter. The overal attitude of the staff was very abrasive for no reason at all. Not very friendly

The hotel closed the restaurant and bar for a private function on Saturday night. That was a little disappointing. Breakfast was first class. Food in bar very good. Room service was fast

I booked two rooms for 4 nights in August. The property is in a wonderful location next to the ROM, transportation and excellent dining options. The view from our very large room was stunning. My issue was with the in room carpeting. It is dated and it smells dirty/off (it was quite overpowering in one of the rooms booked). Why not switch to hard flooring for ease of cleaning? The furnishings are also in need of updating. For almost 500CAD per night I expected better from the Sonesta brand. The housekeeping staff were friendly, professional and top notch however.

Great hotel and friendly staff. Only hiccup was previous person left done food in the fridge which we had to dispose of. Other than that issue everything was great. Restaurant breakfast was great and hotel was centrally located for our needs. Highly recommended

They gave me a room that they said was an upgrade but it is the worst room I ever stayed in at this hotel. The temperature was too hot and wouldn't adjust down when we checked in. After they adjusted is was cooler but when we got cold the temperature would not adjust upward.

I think the main thing about this hotel was the staff. I have never experienced that absolutely everyone was as pleasant, welcoming and easy to deal with. I think whatever is going on on the culture side of things is doing a stellar job. It is outstanding! And of course, the facility, room, bed sheets were great as well. Location is great for anyone who is taking a subway to get here. I found it was easy to navigate my way here from the YYZ airport.

check in staff was quite junior. I understand my ID's last name did not match my reservation (due to a recent divorce) but offered to show her my confirmation email and credit card (that matched my last name). She had to go back of house and ask someone. Several minutes passed and sure enough, I had to present her the email (which I was fine) but I had to hold out my arm while she zoomed (which I told her she could take my phone). Then she just gave me my keys, did not smile, offer water nor point us to where the elevators were..which is standard. She needs extreme training or this is not what she should be doing as she seemed scared/nervous throughout the entire process.

I booked with the hotel late in the evening, after having a very difficult day. Taniya was very receptive and kind. She took time out to listen to the struggle I was having with another nearby hotel. She went over and beyond her job, turning a horrible evening into a pleasant one. She is by far a great asset to the hotel and a great example to her peers on how to provide customer service. Job well done! You are very much appreciated. Thank you Taniya! Now give her a raise!

Fantastic stay. I’m always treated well but the staff went above and beyond as I was staying for my wedding. The valet was quick and convenient. The bellboy nicely moved our luggage. Our servers in the main restaurant and the breakfast were wonderful. I will absolutely be staying here again when I need to be near downtown. Thank you

Great and central location in downtown Toronto. Steps away from the museum, Yorkville shops, university and subway. Service at the front desk and restaurant is slow and they aren’t very attentive (not refilling coffee, only one person at the front desk during peak check in/check out hours). Breakfast quality is ok (eggs lukewarm temperature) but not worth the money. We have stayed numerous times at this hotel over the past 30 years. It was better when it was an Intercontinental.

Great location just north of the downtown core. Easy access to shops on Bloor Street and dining in Yorkville. The ROM is directly across the street in addition to U of T campus. Decent, clean, convenient hotel.

We stayed to visit family and friends and to take in a Jays game. The location is excellent for high-end shopping and access to the subway. The room was ready when we arrived. The staff we very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is walking distance to lots of entertainment, museums, dining and the University of Toronto.

This is an excellent hotel. But we were disappointed with the lack of breakfast options, being used to a buffet table which allows you to pick among a lot of options, like cold cereal, eggs in all styles, toast, pastries, fruit, etc. The things people around were getting looked very nice, but where not what we felt like having.

It is overpriced for what you get, and the hotel a bit soulless but over all we were comfortable. At these prices I would expect some comfort in the rooms like maybe a bottle of water or 2 and better coffee and tea for the morning! Service in the hotel restaurant is very slow, especially at breakfast so go elsewhere.

The food was horrible. I ordered Rom service 4 different times and the quality was terrible. Worse than fast food joints. I tried Breakfast twice and dinner twice. All 4 experiences were very unpleasant and extremely expensive for the quality. Very disappointed.

Staff are always courteous and attentive. Breakfast is as good as any five star and the rooms are spacious. Proof bar mixes fine cocktails and is a relaxing place to unwind. This and Philosophers walk every day makes it a go to for me
