The staff were kind and the rooms were clean and nice. We were not informed upon arrival (in summer) that the hotel’s air conditioning was not working. While we were given a portable fan, this did not happen until we raised this with reception on day 2 of our stay. The pool was also under maintenance.

Not bad! The gym could do with heavier dumbbells or maybe some barbells as there were not any, maybe some kettlebells. Parking spaces are very tight, especially for a medium sized SUV. But overall it was still great and I’d stay there again!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay – thank you so much for having us! We absolutely loved having our own spa in the room, the stunning view from our balcony, and the ability to cast movies from our phone to the TV using Google Chromecast. However, we did notice that the outdoor spa next to the pool wasn’t working during our stay (front desk said it is out of order) and the air conditioning in our room could have been more effective. We hope these issues are addressed soon. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and appreciate your hospitality. Thanks again for a memorable stay!

Good location, good front desk staff, helped as much as they could. Parking is at extra cost. There was some confusion about that cost because at the time of the booking, it was $30 and they increased that to $35 at check-in.

Clean, tidy room, beds comfortable and rooms were spacious Carpark, needs maintenance. Carparks are numbered but the paint is peeling which makes them hard to read. Access to basement is very tight and is only suitable for small cars to access.

A great hotel, the rooms are beautiful, the location is perfect (for anyone with kids there is a playground right behind the hotel), there's also an outdoor swimming pool & a hot tub. I will always stay at Parkside Hotel - it's my favourite hotel.

Tthe room smelt like something has burnt on arrival. Found out it was coming from the microwave and it wasnt working neither was the bed lamp. The internet reception wasnt the best and made it difficult to watch a movie glad i had my computer. The heating was difficult to get below 30 degrees. The bed was indented on one side and was fairly uncomfortable. When i informed recept was told maintanence was back the next day but i was out at conference so unsure if it got fixed. The hallway was not vacummed in the two days i was there and it needed it. Otherwise it was ok but for the cost i would have expected a bit more attention to detail.

Room and building was aa expected for the price I paid. Room wasn’t clean. Hair on the sink and dirty sheets was a surprise. Nice bathtub tho. Parking was not ideal as I was given a car park number right at the end of the bottom floor just to find out the number doesn’t exist. I was given parking #41 and the numbers stopped at 40. Upon going back up to check with reception, they gave me instructions on where #41 was - it was in a car park marked as #15. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Staff were really nice, however the room wasn’t very clean, mould and soap scum build up on bath and all throughout the grout in the shower, mirror hasn’t been cleaned, walls and kitchen cupboards covered in finger marks. The worse part was the aircon was broken through the whole hotel so our room sat at around 27 degrees which was very uncomfortable.

The room was spacious and well set out, if in a little in need of TLC. The problem was that they was no air conditioning. The building is multi-storied with large windows allowing the sun to really heat the room. When i questioned reception regarding the lack of aircon, the advised that it hasn't worked for 2 years. They also hastened to say that this was clearly shown on their website. Ofcourse it isn't, nor on Expedia nor on any communication. In October it was difficult to sleep in the heat, i would hate to try in summer. I can't understand how they can charge these rates with a basic amenity missing.

And to leave it open meant listening to the noise outside and there was some late night shouting. When I enquired about the AC the told me the don’t list the properties as having, but that seems unheard of. Moreover, their in room booklet lists info about their AC units!

Would have been nice to be told that on check-in so I knew to turn it off earlier. Fortunately weather outside was pleasant so just left the balcony door open slightly to cool the room down.

Staff is friendly. Room is very hot (28.5oC!). Despite there being AC in the room it didnt work. Apparenlty you need to clarify before booking if the AC in the room is working. I called the front desk to ask why the room was 28.5oC and was told the rooms arent currently being rented with AC as the system is broken.

It was lovely to have doors and windows that opened to the outside. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and having laundry in unit was great. The size of the room was excellent. Only downside was that the climate control was not working. Fortunately due to the cool overnights, this was not an issue but it did get warm during the day. It was nice having on site parking but some of the turns were VERY tight.
It was lovely to have doors and windows that opened to the outside. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and having laundry in unit was great. The size of the room was excellent. The air conditioning in the property doesn’t work. We talked to the manager. First he said that A/C works on two floors. Then he tried to tell me that ac doesn’t work on the whole property. It was late in the evening. I was ready to get out but because we already prepaid for the stay, we didn’t want to lose our money. He said he will refund part of the money.

Good location, easy to walk to the Sky Tower and Queen Street. Nice and quiet and staff were friendly. Backs onto a park that you can walk through to get into the CBD. Room was pleasant, there was a mini kitchen and washing machine in the room which would have been very handy on a longer stay. The room was rather dated and could have used a repaint but thats not the end of the world. The shower was wonderful!

Wasnt happy with the fact the aircon wasnt working and the reception didnt let us know when i checked in. Didnt tell me until i rang up to ask because it was so hot in my room. Only for them to then say it was under maintenance. Made my room unvearable as it was so stuffy. Also the tv wasnt working with the chrome cast so i was unabke to use that too.

It's one thing to face an unfortunate situation, but to have the hotel add to the stress by reneging on their word is beyond frustrating. I would strongly advise future guests to be cautious and not rely on verbal promises made by the management at this hotel. We were not informed at check-in that the AC was not working in any of the guest rooms. After we went back to the desk to complain we were told the two floor fans was the best they could do. The next morning the AC was still not working. We booked a one bedroom unit with a washer/dryer. The room we got had a washer only. We complained and were moved to a different room. We unlocked the door and that room was already occupied by someone else. After about an hour and a half of waiting and complaining, we were finally moved to a room (smaller than what we had booked) with a w/d combo.

Room was fine but after traveling so far got told we couldnt park there so had to find somewhere else. Also pretty frustrated they dont take cash, booked through expedia so did not know this and staff were rude about pointing it out.

Great location. Staff pleasant and accomodating as arrived early and couldn't check in yet. They stored our bags. Same went with our departure. Nice room and surprisingly a kitchenette. Our initial room aircon was broken and spa function was not working, after contacting room service and getting in touch with the staff in the lobby, we were met with swift service and was moved to a new room which became available the next morning. Besides that, the room was good with a nice view and the staff were very accommodating, even moving our luggage while we were out to the new room. Would recommend and would stay again.

Loved the convenience to everything. Happened to stay when Priscilla Queen of the dessert was in town. Walked to museum. Found a nice cafe and bakery. Saw where I can park next time I don’t come up on Public transport. I will definitely be back. Used the roller in gym for my back. Walked Myers park. Found a bargain at an op shop on k road. Did I mention the price was amazing. Cannot faulter.

The property was situated on a hill so walking home every day was very tiring. But the hotel was clean, spacious for 4 people and had a nice little kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, sink and stove). I would recommend to others if they don't mind walking up hills at the end of the day.

Parkside was fairly centrally located, just a few minutes walk from the city. It was nice to be a bit further away from the city and offered a quiet space amongst the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Parkside is a really nice hotel and thiswas my third stay there. Unfortunately I was given a family room with two king size beds. The room was too small for the second bed, so the room was quite cramped. The hotel is only about two hundred meters from a fire station and ambulance station , so it can be a bit noisy when the sirens are bing used. The sirens are less audible from rooms away from the direction of the station.

Enjoyed our stay, secure parking garage beneath the hotel was great, we just left the car there and walked around the city, mini mart right over the road for groceries and snacks, didn't mind that there was no on site restaurant, we just had breakfast in the room which had a kitchenette and fridge and ate out for lunch and dinner. Elliot Stables just on the other side of Aotea square was a great place for dinner. Beds were comfy and the shower was good, a little bit of street noise but that's to be expected when you're staying in the city, wasn't an issue.

Well the hotel was good, but the fire alarm going off as soon as we got to our room wasn’t the best,!! But all was well. Only complaint was the noise from the fire truck and ambulance stations that were just outside the front door 😖 the view of the sky tower was nice and the park, but not being able to get dinner there was a pain : nice Thai food place up the road , also a separate bath and shower would of been better for us! Being older it was a bit hard to get out of bath! The pool was terrific 5 stars for the pool area , oh I forgot the settings for the air con was not adjusted; to hot in room , thanks Jeannette and greg wall

This is a comfortable and top hotel in a residential district. It differs from having no facilities and only room breakfast available. It is situated very conveniently for the Aeota centre but not much else. The area around was residential and whilst one always feels safe in NZ was a little edgy. Nearest food available was fast food 10 mins. In fairness 30 mins took you to the main CBD beside the sky tower. Would not use again as expensive for what it offered me but if you want a good quality room above all else it’s perfect.

Staff were not very friendly and only did the minimum. Room was dated and needs some basic upgrades like a new door on the shower to prevent water going all over the bathroom.
