Quadrable room was spacious and perfect for our group and location walkable. Noise from upstairs was rather loud at night.

I paid the full amount through Hotels.com and only paid the city tax locally, but an additional charge of about 100 euros was deducted from my account using the card. The front desk staff claimed there was no additional charge and told me to resolve the issue by sending an email, stating they could not do anything to help. Although I eventually received a cancellation of the charge, there was no explanation or apology whatsoever. If you want to have the worst experience of having money withdrawn from your account without permission while abroad, I recommend this hotel.

The hotel was immaculate. The ambiance of the lobby and bar downstairs invited us to come in and stay a while. The area surrounding the property is a little run down because it’s near the train station and there is quite a bit of people living on the streets. But once inside, it feels safe and clean.

The room was clean and nicely decorated - it does look just like the photos. Comfy beds (even the sofa bed in our family room) and decent shower. Nice touch of having a Belgian sweet for each of us when we arrived. We didn’t need a lot of interaction with the staff but the guy who checked us in was helpful. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. The only real downside was the location. It was convenient for the Gare du Midi and for walking into the historic centre (about 20 mins) BUT it was rough and didn’t feel that safe. We did not want to leave the hotel in the evening, especially as we were with our two young children, due to feeling unsafe and dodgy characters around. We did eat in the BarBQ restaurant on the same square twice and would recommend that.

The room was spacious, clean and had a nice ambience. The lobby was also inviting and pleasant place to stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. The area is ideal for the station but isn't the nicest area. Would happily return.
