There is no aircon. So it’s very hot in summer time. However, staff service quality is very high.

Good hotel, but the rooms were too warm. No AC available or ability to turn heating off.

The room was dated but functional. I noticed carpet torn behind the chair. Also missed the part about no A/C. Muggy in the room with only an oscillating fan. Window had to be open so heard some noise from that. I wouldn’t rent in summer months due to that. Also, steps coming into hotel made it challenging to transport luggage. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. Location is great and easy to get around town from this location. Overall it worked, but some of the finer details were missing.

Excellent hotel in a very good location. Some rooms have amazing views of the castle. We’ve just completed our second stay, have a third booked for January 27 and are planning a summer 27 stay too

The room was mostly clean and well kept, although compact. Tea and instant coffee provided. Room was refreshed every day, fresh towels etc. We were on the 5th floor and had the most beautiful view of the castle and were treated to the sounds and sights of the Military Tattoo by night. Staff were fine, working in Edinburgh in August obviously takes its toll! One mature gentleman, in a blue shirt was hugely friendly and went above and beyond for us during our stay. The pool was compact but okay, nice little sauna too. A good way to unwind after a day exploring the city. We really enjoyed the nearby cafes and bars. So didn’t make use of the restaurant or bar in the hotel. Our stay was very expensive, to be expected in Edinburgh in August.
