Too short stay (only one night) at this cool boutique hotel. Very comfortable bed and warm, homey and nicely designed rooms. Pool steam room and sauna not to be missed. Well appointed gym complete with weights, erg and Pelaton. Staff is attentive with desire to please.

Excellent hotel and in a good location slightly away from hustle and bustle. Excellent service from all members of staff. The happy hour is great- drinks on them 5-6pm. Baba restaurant is also excellent and actually good value too. It’s very busy so ensure you book. Overall highly recommended and will stay there again.

£350 a night is high for the rooms. Service is good, parking overnight is high. Unfortunately a dog was left in the room next door and barked between 3.00 am and 4am non stop. I called the desk and the owner had left the dog alone. It was taken downstairs thankfully.

An excellent stay and well worth the extra! Staff were helpful and friendly without having to ask things were done for you. Pool and gym was a great space, rooms were comfortable and homely. The hotel had a lovely feel an atmosphere that you didn't want to leave.

Fantastic hotel. After checking in, bags were already in room. The spa is the perfect place to go and unwind in the afternoon with a sauna, steam room and pool. All the credit goes to the staff and their professionalism

This was a beautiful hotel in an excellent location! While the staff was very nice, the bar needs real bartenders (drinks was mediocre) and breakfast was unimpressive for such as nice hotel.

Great location with wonderful, friendly staff - particularly the bar staff. The only reason for the "Average" rating for cleanliness was because we were there for two nights and for some reason our room wasn't cleaned for the second night. Not a major problem, we received a genuine apology AND the receptionist cancelled our bar bill to compensate. Excellent way to deal with a problem, well done. will definitely visit again.

Very lovely staff, and cutely decorated hotel. I wouldn't call it spotlessly clean, hence 4 stars instead of 5, but I wouldn't mind staying there again. Convenient location too. It would be nice if they had a bit more variety (especially vegetables) in the breakfast buffet.

We were only there for two nights, but would definitely stay again if we return to Edinburgh. The hotel has a nice daily happy hour, was conveniently located near many great restaurants and shops, and the rooms and shared areas were clean and stylish.

Beautiful hotel and fantastic service! The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff were kind enough to hold on to our luggage after we checked out of our room so we could explore the city We had a very pleasant experience all around. Highly recommended if staying in Edinburgh!

We enjoyed our 5 night stay and appreciated the hotel amenities. Hotel location was very convenient to shops and restaurants. Our room (#105) was spacious and comfortable with one glaring exception - the bathroom sink was so close to the toilet that I could not stand in front of it, and it was ridiculously small and low. Disappointing as I had specifically inquired about the bathroom when checking in. The rest of the bathroom and bedroom were very nice. If I returned, I would ask to see the room before checking in. The small “tuck box” of goodies was appreciated and refilled daily - a lovely touch. The birthday greetings provided for my husband were outstanding and also appreciated. The staff members were very nice and the breakfast was lovely.

Stunning hotel, inside & out. Very attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable room. Great location for shopping, restaurants, sights in Edinburgh & public transport. Easy walking distance too. Sadly, slept badly the 2nd night due to noise from public, in the street, until 03.30. Staff at the hotel were very apologetic but obviously it’s not their fault. We would recommend this hotel to others.

Truly wonderful staff who stepped out to take our luggage before we even walked in, checked in via text message each day, gave us great dining recommendations each night… We were very impressed with them. The room is a little smaller, but so well appointed with Scottish decor. Lots of hotel amenities. Only negative was loud people outside on our side of the building from a bar/disco or something. Did keep or wake us up a few nights. Otherwise lovely and will definitely stay again if we return.

Nice hotel but must question if it really is a 5 star! More like a 4 star. Our room was quite small which ended up meaning one had to sit on the bed so the other person could get to the bathroom. The view from our room was of air conditioning units siting on a roof. Pillows not to our liking but that’s a personal preference. Baba restaurant was amazing and I would def eat here again. Staff in the hotel are very attentive.

Centrally located on a beautiful Georgian square. Safe and quiet yet near to downtown and within walking distance of many other wonderful Edinburgh neighborhoods. That said, the room I reserved was tiny with a small and very hard bed. I was expecting a lot more for the very high nightly rate I paid. I reserved this hotel as a special luxury treat and was very disappointed in the experience.

All of the staff were great. Very helpful and accommodating. Simon in particular made sure we were well taken care of. The only negative thing was due to the bars in relatively close proximity. That activity happening outside my window was quite loud and didn't quiet down until after 2am when everything finally closed. Of course this isn't something the hotel staff can do anything about, but it's something to be aware of if you're bothered by noise.

The property was fine. The area was amazing. But the staff at checking seemed confused. I only stayed one night … but just noticed that my credit card had been charged three (3) times?? Can you please assist me to correct this. I was charged twice by the Kimton Hotel $450.28 CDN on July 19 and $540.41 CDN also on July 19 and $617.86 CDN by Expedia on July 18th? This was only a one night stay, partly for work, partly to celebrate my birthday. Check-in was excellent, very friendly, attentive & welcoming, a free upgrade was offered as it was my birthday & time was taken to personally show us around the hotel facilities. The reception, lobby, dining areas & Spa are beautifully decorated, there are so many staff, all of whom are highly trained & exceptionally helpful & friendly. On arrival to our room, a hand written birthday card & plate of chocolates & macarons had been left out for me, a very nice touch. Everything you’d want or need in a room was there, the bed was very comfortable, there was virtually no sound coming from anywhere, lovely shower & toiletries. My only gripe would be that the room was a bit drab & not decorated to anything like the same standard as the main areas of the hotel; also, we could not access the aircon panel, as it was obscured by the wardrobe, it was quite stuffy in our room overnight & you couldn’t open the window. We ate dinner at Aizle which was excellent and lunch at Baba which was delicious. Breakfast was a wee bit disappointing, there was a huge selection of things but they were rather ordinary & I would’ve expected a much more imaginative & out of the ordinary offering for £30 p/person from this standard of hotel - we had to send back a pain au chocolat as it was stale & hard. All in all though, our stay was lovely, the staff amazing & would highly recommend.

Incredible birthday night away, got two free drinks for the occasion for the hotel bar BABA, as well as the lovely woman on check-in who gave us an upgraded room for the occasion. I don’t remember her name but she was working on 20/06 and was so lovely and helpful. Had a slight leak with the A/C which didn’t bother us at all, but it was immediately fixed whilst we were popped out for the evening and two gin and tonics were left for us on our return. Lovely food and drinks, beautiful hotel no complaints at all. Also check out in 12 so no rushing at all. 5 Stars all round.

Throughly enjoyed stay at the Kimpton whose staff went above and beyond to make our stay very special. Guest Services helped arranging a surprise for my partner with flowers, chocolates and Prosecco on arrival. We had a great weekend in Edinburgh and would hope to stay again in the Kimpton on a next visit.

The location was perfect and most of the staff were very friendly. The bellboys and breakfast staff were especially great. However, the check-in experience was poor — the guy at reception couldn’t find my reservation and just said, “No, can’t find your booking,” without offering any help. I had to type my name on my phone and show it to him before he finally found it. The room itself was also disappointing. It had a small window in the back corner facing a wall, and it didn’t even open. The bathroom amenities were very basic. Overall, for the price we paid, it felt quite overpriced.

We came here on our babymoon and it was just what we needed. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful if they tried - anything we asked for they helped us with. I’ve been struggling with sleep and they delivered more pillows to our room, they were informative about the area and were really helpful with whatever we asked them for. The location is excellent, just around the corner from George Street which was great for shopping and having a slow mooch and coffee.

The hotel is beautiful, well presented and the welcome is warm and friendly. The rooms were quite pokey for the price however and the breakfast was lacking. The breakfast staff were very polite but we were often left without cutlery, brought the wrong egg / overcooked eggs and one morning they didn’t come at all. The restaurant in the evening was delicious however. The gym facilities are great and spa area is a nice addition in the colder months!

Lovely hotel but breakfast was disappointing. Buffet style (unexpected for cost of room) - luke warm. Waited half an hour for coffee and order was incorrect. Ordered a la carte next day and was much better.
