The receptionist was rude and told us to pay parking on departure then I went to check out in the morning the another receptionist again rude told me I should have known I needed to pay on arrival as there “were signs all over the parking” And there was nothing she could do I would get a fine and I should appeal. We couldn’t see the signs and were give. Wrong information on arrival My car is a rental and we are on vacation in Scotland I have no idea how I will appeal this Staff was rude and should have been more helpful exposing the hotel parking situation

A predictably busy hotel in a good location for the City Centre, Hotel was exactly as described, although slightly disappointing that whilst one reviewer mentioned parking was free, there is actually a charge, my fault for not reading the details thoroughly enough!

The room was lovely and clean. I had a problem with the parking machine but the staff came over and helped me. Breakfast was plentiful although I only had two slices of toast plus a coffee. Well worth the visit.

The indication on the site was there was free parking but this had to be paid for on arrival. Also I only ate once in the hotel but the food I was given was pretty awful. Overall ok but I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Stay was good, service in the bar was ok, food was not nice. I had the mussels which was in a nice sauce but the mussels themselves were dry and tough, the ham and cheese toastie was dripping in grease and the pizza had far too much cheese on it so was greasy and soggy

I REALLY wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone. The room was owerall very untidy, decrepit and not pleasant to stay at for multiple reasons. Firstly, the hotel is promising daily cleanups, but really that only means that they make your bed and fill the toiletpaper. Our room was not cleaned once in our 6 day visit here, even tho the carpet floors were visibly dirty and there was so much dust on every surface. Our used cups stayed right next to the trash, even tho we clearly put them next to the trash to be changed. The room overall smells really bad and there are visible stains in the beds mattresses and also on the carpeted floor. Bathroom was almost impossible to use, since the tap was spraying to the sides and shower's watermixer was either broken or just plain bad since it only gave boiling hot or freezing water. The shower head was very difficult to use for hair washing since the preassure and the amount of water was so slight that it was like washing your hear under a hose. The windom frame was SO DRAFTY because it had actual HOLE in it, which was only filled with PAPER TOWELS. We had to keep the airconditioning at max to be able to sleep there. In my country this room wouldn't be allowed to be rented as a hotel room for visitors. The breakfast was worst I've had in years, we ended up not eating it multiple times even tho it was free. Also they started drilling two days in a row at 9 AM, which we woke up to in our holiday. Really wouldnt recommend.

Arrived on Friday around 1.30pm for a 2 night stay. Was told our room was ready. However, the bed was not made and their was no quilt on one of the beds. It was obvious the room had not been cleaned. We woke up on Saturday morning and had no towels in the room for a shower. The breakfast cutlery was also dirty and the hotel itself was also dirty in parts. We paid £160 per night so would expect a lot better. Definitely would not stay here again. Avoid.

Stayed 3 nights our room was awful, carpets/bed sides/chair all badly stained...bath plug broken...no sink plug...turned the air conditioning on the 2nd night it smelled so bad we turned it off couldnt sleep in the room and had to change rooms too a tiny standard double room...which was also unclean.

Disappointed with our room. Smelled from mould on windowsills and bathroom, blocked drain, stained towels, peeling paint, big brown stains on carpet, bed sheets not on properly over mattress, needed to request towels. Beds were comfy. Breakfast and dinner were nice, though no staff in attendance one morning so there were empty containers etc.

I don’t expect the washroom that Hotel Holiday Inn is providing in £200 a day. I have better washroom at home. Especially , the shower was terrible. The breakfast was good. The room was also clean but there was no chair, table, drawer, fridge or wardrobe in the room. I won’t recommend this hotel in this price. I personally feel that the room and services do not worth £200.

I booked two rooms. The first room was superb with two large beds. The second room had an awful smell - we dicussed this with the staff and they eventually moved us to another room with a sofa bed rather than a second bed. I was staying with the two children in the first room. It was warm in the room so I put the air conditioning on when we went to bed. We had to switch it off as it was making an awful noise. The safety latch was also broken on the door. Breakfast was good and staff in the restaurant were lovely.

Nice hotel option for Edinburgh. Beautiful view from our room of the city and castle. We had a car so drove nearer to downtown and paid to park to see the old town and castle. If you don’t have a car you’d likely have to take a bus. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast good. Quiet room.

This hotel is a 1/2 hour walk from city centre. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. The shower wouldn’t drain properly, they sent someone to put something down to clear it. It still didn’t drain properly so you had short showers or overflows. The room itself is tiny. Thankfully we didn’t have to spend much time in it.

This property is situated out of the city but is on a bus route which is very convenient. Rooms very small but that seems to be all of UK & Europe, difficult to open luggage because of lack of space. As a single traveller I managed but not sure how two people would get on.

Chose a room with a city view. Really lovely view of the city. Added bonus was capturing a rainbow over the city on camera on our last evening. Conveniently located for the retail park. Good bus service into city centre.

Upon arrival the room was hot and stuffy (24C). No windows to open and aircon not working. Difficult to sleep and a really stale smell. There was a big stain on the carpet and the paint was peeling around the sealed windows. Very expensive for what we paid. The only redeeming features were the comfortable beds, nice shower and excellent breakfast

Our room was very comfortable and the welcome pack was much appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and fully stocked even though the hotel was busy. Really liked the addition of a pancake machine. Air conditioning was fine and it was nice to be able to open the windows too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Check in Wed 17/4 9pm 1. Room 216 - tv remote not working , a g clamp holding a shelf together and no shower gel 2. Phoned reception - offered new room - 604 3. Room 604 , supposedly checked clean , had clothes and belongings in - a guest should not be given access to an other persons belongings 4. Back to reception - 6 floors- they said that should not happen and the guest had checked out ! How can they have checked out or the room been cleaned with belongings in ? 5. Given the original room back 216 - clamp removed and about 15 mins later a working tv remote and shower gel 6. Finally relaxed about 2150 with tv on and ability to shower Paying £130 + for a room should be as a minimum : clean , tidy and all facilities available - tv & showering Room 216 had not been checked - tv not working , no shower gel and a large clamp,on the shelf Room 604 was not empty and should not have been given to another guest - I felt very uncomfortable seeing another persons belongings in a room I had access to It shouldn’t take 50 mins to get checked in and get a fully serviced room

Nice decent hotel. Check in was a breeze. Room was really cozy. Breakfast was really nice, with a pretty decent variety. Oh and I asked if I could check out an hour later and it was granted. Thank you for being great hosts.

It might only be 1.5 miles away from the heart of town but it’s 20 minutes by taxi. There’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel but had I known I would have stayed much closer.

I would stay here again. Easy transportation access to sights in old/new Edinburgh & Leith area. Dean Village and 2 modern art galleries were within walking distance. Quiet at night, easy walk to 2 coffee shops, Nando's restaurant, Boots Pharmacy if needed. Friendly, helpful staff.

Lovely hotel about 4 miles from city center. Bus stop across the street gets you there in 10 minutes for 2.4 pounds. Room was comfortable breakfast was amazing wasn’t expecting it to be that extensive. Staff were so accommodating. Shout out to Colin- you’re the best❤️ great place to make home base. Would definitely stay there again.

Easy bus ride to Princes St, Edinburgh. Close to shopping mall with Pharmacy, reasonable eating options. Reasonably close to airport. Quiet neighbourhood. Staff at front desk, breakfast area and bar were very friendly and helpful.

OMG, where to begin...? First of all, the hotel room is clean, in good condition and with a comfortable bed. It gets the job done. The location is bad. We thought we had a good idea choosing this to get to the airport early but that was a miss. If you want to go by public transportation you have to go in to city centre and continue from there. Only way to the airport is by taxi (circa 30-35 pounds). The worst thing is the breakfast. Basically everything is from the freezer, warmed up and bad tasting. Hot food is not warm enough. I actually started googling how to alert municipality on the bad food handling suspecting I could get sick eating this. After refusing to eat bad food, there was only toast and preserves left for me. And really bad tasting coffee... Two persons, one night paid 300 punds for this! Absolutely no value for money, will never come here again.

Cutlery dirty Plates still had dried food on Cups dirty 3 slices of bacon left at 9,30am Warm apple juice and orange juice When I asked where the glasses were it was like I asked how do I get to the moon 15 pound in a cab to town Would not stay here ever again And I can stay anywhere not a fussy person Just get the basics right that’s all you need to do for the cost
