Anna Maria and Scott were superb on reception, as was Eloise and the staff in the bar and restaurant area. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. And let's not forget the leisure facilities: a fully equipped, modern gym, plus a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi - bliss!

Really friendly hotel, with everything we needed. Great room, breakfast, facilities. Just a few notes. When we checked in we weren't asked if we'd like to forego housekeeping, in return for a drinks voucher. We did ask housekeeping not to visit our room, and hung our hanger out. On the last night we heard about the voucher and asked at reception, and were told first we couldn't have one, then we could but only as a special favour. Why? It was your mistake. Second, according to customs and excise sherry is served in 50ml or 70ml measures, or multiples. Trying to sell me it as 25ml, like a spirit, is illegal, regardless of what the till says: that should be fixed. Third, the pool is only open for 4 hours a day, as such it would be nice if 1/3 or more of it wasn't devoted to swimming lessons, and if children's behaviour was better managed.

Good location for SEC and the centre. Shame the pool doesn't open to 4pm, so no morning swim. Near the motorway/Kingston Bridge, but we didn't hear much noise.

A/C didn’t work, room smelled strongly of cigarette (I was pregnant and so nauseous), tried to have a bath but the water ran brown. They advertised that if you didn’t need room service, that they’d offer you a drink downstairs at the bar (we just wanted a pop), but they wouldn’t offer it - whatever terms and conditions are not transparent. Very loud hallways. Decent location though. Told staff I was displeased and showed them a video of the water, they said that’s too bad and really don’t care. So yeah, not coming back here anytime soon.

Room was disappointing. Large but uncomfortable bed, old furnishings, dirty window and carpet with numerous stains. Air conditioning didn't seem to work. The hot water from the bath tub was a dirty brown and had to run the water for a good few seconds before it became clear. The lobby and dining area are very nice and modern but beyond that it feels very outdated. Staff were very friendly and the food was okay if not a bit expensive.

The only thing I didn't like was that the bath water had a brownish tint to it and when drained left a brown residue on the bath. The suite had a kitchen facility that didn't work( sink) and the drain smelt of rotten eggs

The hotel itself is really nice and the room i had was very spacious. The bed was massive and couldn't wait to get in. Here lies the problem, when i pulled back the sheets there was blood on the bottom sheet, not a lot but not mine either. As no-one was at reception, i ended up sleeping on the floor. When I mentioned it as i checked out i was informed they have people who could have changed it, but i wasn't aware. So not an ideal stay. However, that said i would stay again but a full bed check first. sleeping on the floor

Both staff at bar and reception were excellent. Value for money. I stayed in 503. Someone is needing to look at the contents of the room wardrobe, as there is a smell,so much I couldn't hang my clothes.

Very friendly and helpful receptionist at check in. Room and bathroom were both a really good size. Massive bed. Great window insulation. My room was very close to the M8 but even standing by the window you couldn't hear any traffic noise. Unfortunately the room wall insulation wasn't as good and I was kept awake two of the four nights I stayed because of people in the next room shouting and making noise until the early hours. The pool area is nice and the gym looked very well equipped.

I liked that there was a spa and pool with sauna and steam. There is a distinct issue between noise from rooms and late night arrivals and parties. It was a solid place but a bit dated in the twin room. No safe in the room. Good attentive staff.

Hotel was just what we needed. There was a lot of road works so sadly the bus stop outside was out of use, although not the hotels fault. We were disappointed the windows didn’t open at all as the room felt quite stuffy especially at night, and the air con wasn’t good, but no other problems.

This hotel is a mixed bag: The pool and spa area was really nice and well maintained. We used it every morning. We didn't use the gym, but it also looked well equipped for a hotel. But our standard room was definitely not worth the price we paid. While spacious and clean, it had super old furniture, the desk surface was sticky from its age and the door in the bathroom was falling apart at the bottom.

The hotel was reasonable - although a little dated for the price. The fact there was a pool made it worth it. The staff were friendlt too. My only complaint was that the aircon was broken - a fan and a supposed portable air-con unit was provided but these did nothing but recirculate the hot, stuffy air. The windows didnt open so the entire room felt suffocated and made it difficult to sleep. I think for the price, the room needs to come with aircon, espcecially ina 4 star rated hotel.

Had a fantastic time at this hotel. From the minute we arrived to the very last minute we left the service was excellent. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Room was cracking 👌 breakfast excellent. Overall a fantastic time. We will definitely be back!!!

Booked because of location and pool. Pool had restricted hours of use-4-8pm only, but then when we came back to use it it was not available as they had children’s classes there-no notice of this or apology even when complaining to customer services. Reception desk on arrival couldn’t have been more helpful young lady, on last day a miserable make called Scott was very grumpy that I asked for a receipt, he said I should get it from Expedia, i explained I had paid in full on arrival to reception which he again disputed until finally he said I was right but still would give me it until I actually checked out. Customer service eventually offered £30 voucher to be spent in another of their hotels- I declined as that was an insult -they would make more money out of our nightly rate than that by far. Never again and wouldn’t recommend which is a shame for the lady that helped us so kindly on arrival

The hotel had a computer glitch on arrival, which meant the check in queue was a bit long. However the staff kept us informed about what was going and were quick to get the issue sorted out. The room was clean and comfortable but the decor was a little tired. We were attending the Glasgow Summer Nights at Bellahousten Park and we were able to walk to and from the venue. It's also good for the Hydro and NEC and we would stay here again if attending events at those venues (which we do every year). All in all a good hotel if visiting Glasgow and you don't want to stay right in the centre.

The hotel room was lovely with a comfortable king-size bed and large bathroom. Most outstanding was the staff. The lady at the front desk who checked us in was professional, friendly, and welcoming. She then went above and beyond to help us get our laundry done before we had to leave the next day. Superb service!

Stayed at the hotel whilst attending a show at the hydro. Hotel was nice and staff friendly but when going to our room late at night I became trapped in the bathroom as the door handle was broken and I was unable to get out. I managed to get someone to let me out from the outside but this meant we were unable to shut the door which meant we were unable to use the shower etc. Contacted reception in the morning and was told to email the manager. I have done on a number of occasions and my complaint has been completely ignored. Hotels.com have tried to contact him as well and have also been ignored. Terrible customer service over a serious health and safety issue

The location is not the best for a tourist. Lots of construction in the area. Not super close to restaurants and shopping. It’s not a long walk but there are other places closer that might be more convenient. The hotel as a whole was clean and comfortable with a good gym. My main complaint is we were on the top floor which was ridiculously hot (maybe the laundry facilities are up there) both in the hallway and our room, and the air conditioning did not work. We had to have a fan on and the window open all the time to make it tolerable. The staff in all areas were very friendly and the breakfast was good and reasonable.

Loved my stay at the Argyle when visiting to take part in the Sir Chris Hoy Tour de 4 cycling fundraiser....hotel centrally located and only 4 mins on bike from the Central Rail Station, which was very important the day after the event! lol Was upgraded to a family room (2 double beds!) so plenty of space in the room, and was also allowed to keep my bike with me in the room, which really helped getting ready for the ride. The jacuzzi/steam room/pool was a lifeline AFTER the ride.....with a wonderful hour spent in there relaxing my weary body! Food and drinks were great and the pizza I had certainly helped to re-fuel me....and the pints went down well too! Perfect nights sleep (no noise) and a lovely breakfast on the Monday to see me off on my return home to Belfast. Thanks to all at Argyle.....well be staying again on next visit to Glasgow.

Super surprised at quality of this hotel. Usually stay closer to OVO but i think this place is best value. Spacious room. Lovely lobby. Excellent breakfast. Great staff. Its in an urban and gritty setting but walkable to SECC and city centre. Has a great pool and gym too if you're up for that. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely return when back in Glasgow.

On arrival met with very friendly and helpful reception staff. Reception area and bar area clean and welcoming. Room was clean with a comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast room was freezing though still had the air con on on a cold morning!! But the food more than made up for that. great choice all freshly cooked, hot and tasty. had a meal in the bar area, and again, very friendly service and freshly cooked very tasty food at competitive prices. All in all loved our short stay

Upgraded to a beautiful suite. Very comfortable. Bathroom was a bit cold and draughty and towel rail didn't work (reported at end of stay). Plenty of heating in bedroom though and very spacious. Didn't use pool but it looked relatively small and only open 4-8pm. Food service at bar only available 5-10pn. Unfortunately took an hour to get my carbonara. Bar staff kindly did chase this up and gave me a complimentary drink. Food was ok but not worth waiting an hour for. Would eat elsewhere next time.

Nice break. Just had a problem ordering a sandwich at the bar- choice not on the computer- and finished up with a very greasy overpriced toastie I didn’t really want. However the spa area was very pleasant and generally a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff.

Enjoyed our stay, didnt use swimming pool, but it looked nice, staff gave us all the information required if we wanted to. Bar and restaurant times not as stated online, so if you looking for a late drink or meal contact the hotel directly. Staff were very pleasant. Comfy bed.
