Hotel has a lovely enclosed garden with nicely designed water falls. It offers avery convenient shuttle to and fro the Kyoto station, which made it easier to plan. The breakfast options were very good. The hotel was spacious, but felt old though it has been renovated. The room had fan only, with an air purifier, which did not help with allergies. We had a beautiful room and overall the service was quite good, but there were definitely exceptions. Loved the convenience of the shuttle. Would have been nice to have room service. The breakfast buffet was ok, not great. Our room was kept impeccably. Nice to have a gym and a beauty salon on premisos.

Its a nice facility and staff is nice and professional. Rooms and amenities is top notch. The shuttle service to and from Kyoto station is huge...saving time and money. Wish they have laundromat to do laundry rather than just having laundry service but other than that, this place is highly recommended.

The property looks amazing when you enter and the hotel staff are really nice and it is located in a good area. The staff listen to what you want and provide great recommendations. There needs to be improvement in the cleanliness. The bathrooms had so much black mold and mildew everywhere.

Lovely staff especially the bellhop/taxi callers. One of them ran out in the rain trying to call a taxi for us and ran back. Went above and beyond. The room was nice and spacious but the beds were quite hard and uncomfortable. Found 2 foreign hairs in our bathroom and was disgusted but it was 11:30pm by the time we checked in and decided to clean up ourselves. hotel itself is nice and clean but just the bathroom and bed that was disappointing.

Large rooms, very nice hotel lobby. Shuttle bus to and from Kyoto train station every 30 minutes is very convenient. Good breakfast choices. Only problem to me is no individual room temperature control. Both of our rooms are kept around 25C/77F, which is too high for me in the summer in Kyoto. Overall good stay, will recommend.

Pros:This hotel is beautiful and the service is great! We really appreciated the shuttle service which took us to and from Kyoto station with our luggage. We didn't get to visit any of the restaurants, bar, or lounge because we were busy sightseeing, but they looked very nice and fancy. The room was comfortable and the bed was truly king sized which is hard to find. Also the location was convenient with much to explore if you like walking around, which we do. Cons: I do wish the toilet was separate from the shower and that it was more modern with a button flush rather than the lever flush. Also, the room isn't soundproof and we could sometimes hear regular talking outside or tapping from other rooms. I think one night someone was running around upstairs and we could hear that. Overall it was a great stay and we enjoyed our time here. Thank you!

We stayed at Tokyu Hotel in Kyoto and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel was great—very clean, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The food was good and satisfying. Our only observation is about the location: with kids, it’s not ideal since the nearest subway station requires a bit of a walk. That said, taxis were always available, and Kyoto is not a large city, so getting around was still easy. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay.

部屋の広さ、内装の綺麗さ共にstandard room としては充分満足します。客室の空調が温度調節できず(仕方がわからず？)少し寝苦しさを感じた点がすごく残念です。スタッフは皆様丁寧で特にドアマンが気さくに会話してくれ気持ちが良かったです。シャトルバスが便利で利用しましたが、座席間隔が狭く体格の大きな私には座る立つの動作が苦しく感じました全体に静かで落ち着いた雰囲気のホテルです　お世話になりありがとうございました。

During check in they gave me hard time with struggling with room and number of guests. I had double twin bed for three people. They did not accept 3rd person until I uploaded the reservation. They even charged for Kid's breakfast, and their excuse is the booking includes breakfast just for two adults! Unbelievable. When I reserved, I selected the room with breakfast (not just adults).

The hotel rooms are ok. The staff I spoke with for check in/check out were ok. However, there were a number of issues which left me deeply disappointed. First, the hotel claims to run a convenient shuttle between the hotel and Kyoto station. The management of this shuttle is terrible. We once tried to take the shuttle from the station. As we came up, the shuttle left before scheduled departure time. I ran to catch up and get the driver’s attention. He saw me, waved me off, and drove away. On another day, we tried to take the shuttle from the hotel. Because it was raining, the shuttle filled and we weren’t able to get a spot. Instead of providing a second shuttle, they told us to get a taxi. They care about being able to say they run a shuttle but not about actually making things convenient. The bigger issue came after. (Please bear with me. This is not about the hotel, but it is relevant) The hotel set us up with a taxi to the station. We asked to go to the front of the station. The driver decided to take us to the BACK because there is a clearer Shinkansen entrance there. When I saw he was going the wrong direction, I told him we needed to go to the front. He dismissed me. When we arrived, he kept the meter running as he unloaded. Very scammy. Since the hotel probably contracts with cabs, I wrote to the hotel with the name of the driver and told them what happened. They wrote back saying it was reasonable for the driver to ignore our instructions. Disgusting!

I'm thoroughly impressed with the service I have received at Kyoto Tokyu hotel. I have stayed in other hotels in Japan, but this is one hotel where I felt really welcome, taken care of, and safe as a single woman traveller. The service staff have excellent "omotenashi" skills and are very generous, and I felt very comfortable communicating with them. Although the room was a basic standard room, the faciliites were nothing short of excellent. It was very easy for me to visit the top locations in Kyoto by commuting by bus near the hotel. Most hotels allow for check-in at 3 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m., but at Tokyu, you can check-in at 2 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m. I thought this was really great. Overall, it was very much worth every yen I spent on the room. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I return to Kyoto, and will for sure recommend their services to people I know. Thank you very much, Hotel Tokyu! (P.S. I thought it was really cool that they had the option to play the radio in the room, and the lady staff who helped me out in the room was really kind!)

My experience at Kyoto Tokyu Hotel during 12/23-12/27 was great! They offers shuttle bus between Kyoto station and the hotel every 30 minutes. The shuttle bus helped us to go to not only the hotel, we used to access to trains for going to places from the Kyoto station and back to the hotel at evening. The hotel is located in convenient place, 10 minutes from the station and bus stops. My favorite part of the stay was breakfast buffet; they had everything what I wanted. Staff were very helpful. I would love to stay again if I have a chance to go there.

Great value for the price. Somewhat close to tourist sites. 20 to 30 min walking. Taxi or bus recomended. Free shuttle to Kyoto train Station. Hotel Restaraunts are expensive. Royal Host restaraunt right across the street very reasonable. No shopping very close.

The property was very nice. The staff was also incredibly friendly and gracious. They have a shuttle bus to and from Kyoto Station, which is handy. The only downside to me was the lack of close public transportation options. It would’ve been nice to be a little closer walking distance to a train station or a bus stop.

Everything was clean, great and amazing. The restaurants in the hotel offer delicious food and check in/out was perfect. Only one issue, the cleaning staff was extremely noisy outside of the rooms many times, which made it difficult to sleep.

Breakfast was mediocre and di not had options for cappuccino or latte. Considering the amount I paid for luxury Hollywood room, I was not impressed with the service provided. Breakfast was the same as people that paid for the lowest price room. I expected some fruits or welcome hors d’oeuvres but there was none. No lotion or bath salt/ bubble bath available from the room and when we requested for it only lotion was available.
