Central Park Hotel

The property is under renovation. Only one lift working in a large hotel. Information regarding this would have been helpful at time of booking. Staff at the hotel were excellent.

This hotel is undergoing renovations, the whole exterior of the building completely covered in scaffolding which is the view from your room window. This was never communicated to me, work would start at 8am with the noise level so loud there was no way to be able to stay in your room or even comeback for a break during the day. Our room was updated but extremely small which I guess is the normal for London. But when we went to go to bed our first night the sheets in all 3 beds were stained and hairs all throughout, went to ask for cleaned sheets and did get them but made beds ourselves. When I went to get a shower, there was only all hot water so had to go back to the front desk again because there’s no phones in the rooms. The staff member came to the room to tell that H was for hot and C was for cold and I told him that’s the same in my country too, he wasn’t very helpful or professional. For the third time needing to go to the front desk because the fridge was continuously beeping, he was very annoyed with us and told us that the fridge was over heating and just needed to be unplugged, which not sure how we were suppose to know that! Then he went on to say you are complaining about everything and basically it was what was! After speaking to the manager Nash, he was dismissive of all our complaints and said it was sent off to higher ups. Not willing to address the situation or offer any compensation. Would not recommend this hotel what so ever!

Exceptionally loud and lifts were consistently broken

I have stayed here a number of times and the experience can be hit or miss. This time was a miss. I think i was placed in a room that hasn't been refurbished, or only on the most superficial level. The bathroom had one of those dreadful rain shower heads in a shower so small that getting oneself clean was almost comical. (Not ideal if you are a woman shaving your legs) a sink so compact that washing your hands or face was... a feat. The door appears to show significant warping and water damage. There were few outlets. All far from the bed, and the television was placed/installed in a fashion where there was always an obstructed view from all seated positions. There were many light switches, most didn't seem to do anything. But the most interesting part had to be the paper thin walls. Some lovely gentlemen from the US military were next door and I could hear every detail of their conversation. They weren't loud but i could hear everything. I could hear their burps. Imagine if they were sharing military secrets and one was a spy. That would be a hilarious scandal for the hotel. And as usual a minimum of one lift is out of order. What a time. Have they actually renovated any rooms? A mysyery.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this hotel for it's convenient location and value for money. Location wise, the hotel is between 3 tube stations (Lancaster Gate, queensway and Bayswater,) Check in and check out was easy. We stayed in 1 of the newly renovated rooms, with air conditioning. The room has been finished to a high standard, and the bed is comfortable. For central London, the room is spacious, however the bathroom is quite small for an average sized person. There is ongoing construction (during both our visits,) however from our room the noise was minimal during the day. 1 issue was the lack of elevators as often only 1 would be working which would make for a long wait during peak times if breakfast, check in/out. We'd stay here again.

Unfortunately, my room although extremely clean was very drab and tired. It was extremely quiet though, which I was grateful for since I was very tired. The mattress had issues as did the shower and floor tiles in the bathroom which had lifted in places, exposing a sharp edge. I decided to ask reception to come and look at these problems in the morning. They were horrified and realised that they needed addressing immediately. I would stay here again and am writing this, not as a bad review but simply to make people aware that work is in progress here. The problems I had obviously hadn't been reported by other guests or housekeeping who should have alerted the maintenance staff.

Stayed for 1 night in one of the newly refurbished rooms on the fourth Floor rooms 400+, after reading previous reviews I was very dubious of the hotel, however it was nice and modern and very clean room, breakfast was very good buffet style hot and cold and the bar was great, when the refurbishments are complete it will be very nice. Close to Hyde Park and easy access to city centre with Bayswater and Queensway train or subway in close proximity.

The hotel was under renovation so was loud with drilling sounds during the week after 10am. Also there was no air conditioning in my room and it was very hot during the heatwave and I couldn’t open my window more than 10cm as I was on the ground floor. However staff were kind and friendly and the breakfast was great - the location is fantastic and near many eating options.

This hotel is under construction and should close until the construction is complete. There’s no phone in the room to call for service. You have to go down to reception to get towels. It’s very disorganized chaos.

First of all, they are major works going on in the Hotel, there was permanent dust and dirt, the wi-Fi was non existen, some of the staff did hardly speak English and they were very rude and unhelpful. they were also .cockroaches in the room, I asked and show them to some of the cleaning stuff so they could do something about it but nothing happened.

The carpet was hideous - I don't know what those stains were, but it was unacceptable. It looked like someone had vomited all over the carpet and we had to keep our shoes on the entire time.

I arrived a bit earlier and was looked after immediately. The room was ready at that early stage. It was spotless and the staff were all very attentive and helpful.

Our stay was not very good first room we were sent to was in the basmasment and seemed really run down, it smelt horrible and we even had mold all over the walls with no window for ventilation was terrible, we then requested a new room which we were able to get which was better but still not great due to really loud people next door and one of beds that were pushed together was broken. Overall it felt unsafe and the rooms were terrible

The hotel room was dirty , after the purchase the hotel send a message that they are building. Everyday at 6am they begin working and we couldn’t sleep. The room had insect killer under the bad , we found 2 dead cockroaches under the bed. The cleaning staff had the hole day in the hallways the cleaning equipment’s , the towels had stains. This hotel was a disaster and they didn’t have a air conditioning system, they gave us 2 mini airfan in the room. This hotel is awful, it’s a disaster.

This place was currently under renovation which it really needed. Hopefully the result will be better. But I can only judge on how it was for me. The bathroom was full of mould and the room was dusty and very tatty. Given the hallways and outside the windows were building sites with all of noise and dust that comes with that, this place should have been a lot cheaper. The room was a reasonable size. I was on a mezzanine which wasn’t accessible by lift. It is a good Location close to Hyde Park with good transport links and near a range of good restaurants.

rooms aren’t very clean, carpet in the rooms is super dirty. the rooms don’t smell nice, the water from the pipe smells, you don’t feel clean leaving your room and i didn’t sleep well at all. was excited to leave to say the least.

All was fine with our stay at Central Park Hotel. Our room was pleasant, extremely clean, and quite roomly. We were able to check in early on our day of arrival, which was super! Check-in was very easy and all staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was fabulous!

Very clean

Staff were friendly and helpful BUT we were charged twice AND we were in a VERY BASIC basement room with no window and a dreadful smell. They did offer to move us after one night, but we had so much stuff and not enough time to make the move. The Room was poorly designed with very bad lighting and insufficient plugs by the bedside. The exterior of the shower enclosure and the metal trim was dirty and rusty. The shower tray was cracked. The shampoo/soap pump didn’t work. The bathroom door didn’t fully open so you could bump into it unexpectedly. When we arrived, the safe didn’t work. On the good side, it was a reasonable price, there was an in room fridge, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very helpful when I needed to have a room where I could access my phone service as it was inaccessible in the basement. I might have planned to go back, but given that they have charged, or have attempted to charge me twice, I might change my mind on that.

Cold shower and noisy - thin walls.

Service was poor, staff didn’t seem bothered about friendliness. Rooms are tiny with the thinnest walls. You could hear every word in the next room. Internet was non existent. Bed was horrible.

Super convenient location! Having moved around other areas and seeing we could have potentially booked, im so glad we stayed in the one. 2mins to subway/bus. Quiet, clean street- where one street you have loads of restaurants and activity. The lobby and reception felt upscale and buffet breakfast was great! My one disappointment was the room which seemed to be a basement area and was not like those reflected in the pictures. The room was very small and felt like a dorm. Maybe we got this room because they are still in the upgrade process. We did have ac and everything was very clean and very comfortable - so overall i would stay here again.

It was a fine hotel. Maybe it was us who did not read (or see pictures) the description but the room we got was in the basement without any window and only had a bed with a tiny table. Not much space at all.

Nice clean rooms, but next to none soundproofing on the door (no noise what so ever in between rooms though) Got a late checkout at 12 ish no problem.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Perfect location; in front of a park, close by to two subway station (giving access to 3 different lines). The room we had was very small - don’t know if they’re all like that. The bathroom was very very small and it was an open concept for the shower… it meant that everything got wet after someone took their shower.

We thought we were going to get a renovated room as they had advertised and did not. If you get the 2nd floor ask for another room (very outdated), AC did not work, TV was maybe 15" with mostly local channels. No HBO. Showtime, or really any movie channels and the WIFI was horrendous. Staff was nice and the location was great and pretty central. The Queensway and Bayswater tube stations, restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries were only 2 blocks away. Luckily we spent a lot of time out of the room.

We had to book at the last moment and the staff helped at every stage printing tickets asking if we needed anything. Very helpful staff

I stayed at Central Hotel Park from 30th November to 1st December and unfortunately had a very negative experience, mainly due to the behaviour of one of the security staff. I completely understand the hotel’s policy regarding the number of guests allowed in a room. However, when I explained that a friend would only be visiting for around 30 minutes (not staying overnight), the security guard became extremely rude and aggressive. Instead of calmly advising me or directing me to reception, he raised his voice at me in the lobby and spoke in a hostile way that was completely unprofessional. What shocked me most was that he threatened to cancel my booking with no refund simply because I asked a question. He then said he knew where I worked and would come to “disturb” me, and even referenced having a photocopy of my ID in a way that felt intimidating. As a guest, this made me feel unsafe and disrespected. Because of this, I didn’t even feel comfortable reporting other issues with my stay: • The room was extremely cold — the heater didn’t work properly. • There was loud construction noise early in the morning, making it difficult to rest. Normally I could overlook these things for a short stay, but the unprofessional behaviour from the security staff overshadowed everything. This team member is absolutely not doing the hotel any favours — he is damaging the hotel’s reputation and making guests feel uncomfortable. We had the original double room and it was pretty clean and did the job. Bed was comfy. When we checked in, staff on the desk acted as if we were getting in the way of their conversation. We felt like most of the male staff seem quite rude when we saw them talking to customers but female staff seemed nicer. Any cleaners we came across seemed super friendly. First evening our tv wasn’t working so we called reception and they said the cleaners were meant to fix it that day but it will be fixed the following morning, but the guy really didn’t seem to care and it definitely sounded like a generic response they give to any issues. Of course, nothing got fixed, so just ended up using our phones to watch tv in the evening. Considering the work going on around the hotel, the WiFi was really strong which was great. Although we got the original room, I feel it should have been a bit cheaper for what it was, but as I said, it did the job for the few nights we were there. It’s in a good location too which was useful. I’ve seen other reviews mention the noise from contractors, but we had no issue with this where we were.

If you value communication, steer clear of this hotel. I attempted to reach them multiple times due to flight delays, late check in and then canceling the reservation because we did not make it to London. I never got any response!!! Expedia reached out to try and get a refund or a credit for the missed days at another time and they didn’t respond to them in a timely manner and then would not offer any compensation. Very poor customer service!

With so many great reasonably priced hotels in London avoid this one at all cost. Rooms not as advertised. Staff does not care that advertisement doesn’t match what you are given. Front desk staff snickered about other guests after they left the desk. Total disregard for guests. The bright spot was the cleaning staff who were absolutely lovely. There are too many other choices in London (even on that street alone) so stay elsewhere!

This is my go-to hotel while visiting London. The beds are extremely comfortable, they have excellent walk-in showers with both a rainflow and handheld shower head. The location is superb with Hyde Park within a minutes walk and there are two Tube Staions within a few minutes walk. As well there are plenty of restaurants to choose from on Queensway. The staff are wonderful, especially Ioana who went out of her way to help me. I highly recommend this Hotel.

What really matters in hospitality is how a hotel treats its guests, handles mistakes, and ensures safety, privacy, and service — especially when families and children are involved. This hotel failed at nearly every level of guest care. We encountered multiple service breakdowns and a complete lack of urgency or responsibility from management. I would strongly discourage families or solo travelers from staying here unless significant changes are made to how rooms are managed and how guests are treated.

The staff at this hotel was so friendly and helpful. They let us check in early and check out late to meet our flight needs. The hotel is undergoing renovations and will be amazing when they finish. Despite the current construction, the staff made the stay worth it. I also love this location in London. Nearby tube access makes any siteseeing close, but this neighborhood is quiet and chill.

The hotel was quite cheap for London prices which drew us to it. It was clean when we arrived, staff were super super lovely! (Can’t express that enough). We had a newly renovated room which was clean and comfortable. The only thing which wasn’t good was the smell coming from the drains in the bathroom, I’m not sure if that was because the hotel is under construction. Our first night also we did hear a woman screaming down our corridor at 1am. We woke up quite distressed and tried contacting the front desk however they didn’t answer after we called 4 times. We did have a child with us so we didn’t feel comfortable exiting the room. We told the front desk this the morning after and they assured us they were dealt with (it was a couple arguing). However apart from that, the stay was quite nice. We were worried after reading some reviews online, but goes to show can’t believe everything because it was a lovely stay for a couple of nights on a cheap budget! 🏙️

The location is incredible! This hotel is near Hyde park but doesn't feel touristy and is surrounded by beautiful streets and buildings. The hotel itself is dated and feels a bit grungy. However, we had a renovated room and it was basic but clean. We did not spend much time in the room sine we were only in London for two nights. Given our short stay at the hotel, we were content with the room. However, if we were staying longer or were planning on being in the room more frequently, I would consider a different hotel. If you need a landing spot with a great location and the basic amenities, this hotel is perfect for you.

Staff were friendly, check in process was quick and easy. Close to all the places we wanted to go and sightsee, so many nice places to eat, have coffee in Queensway.

The hotel is in a really good location - close to transport options and right outside the park.

Excellent location, close to Kensington Gardens, transport, food etc. I was traveling solo and stayed in small double room which was small. Would have been cramped with two pps. Small hanging space was only space provided for clothes. Terrible light plastic drink cups for water, etc. Stayed three nights and no change in breakfast menu which was limited and boring. Excellent staff.

Great hotel near Queensway tube. Comfortable room although the room did smell a bit musty/damp. Excellent cooked breakfast with lots of choice.

Overall the property is great! The included breakfast was delicious and the staff was very nice. The lobby and hallways are air conditioned so when you come inside from a long walk around Kensington Gardens it's a nice relief....however the rooms are not air conditioned. So when you get upstairs it is a warm/humid/hot room waiting. If they could get air in the rooms like they have in the hallways this would be a perfect hotel!
