There is no AC and it was extremely hot in the rooms. I think some facility to at least provide a fan should be there. No coffee or tea in the room- available in the waiting room though. Breakfast- coffee/ toast/ boiled egg/ ham and cheese and corn flakes.

Hotel is situated in an excellent location just a few minutes walk from Paddington station. This is a basic hotel so don’t expect 5 star luxury! It met our needs for an inexpensive weekend. Room was very small but biggest issue was the heating control on the heater was broken and heating came on and off at random! We had to keep the window open to cool the room down! And it was noisy with traffic on a busy road outside. Reception staff made little effort to engage. Breakfast is free and a good option to start the day. No tea/coffee in room but there was a guest lounge where it was provided. Not always an adequate supply of cups!!

Firstly, the hotel room I booked was falsely advertised as a 215 square feet room. I ended up in a room so small I believe it was about 80 square feet. The room did not have a kettle, so I could not enjoy a coffee/tea in my room. The window for the 'free breakfast' time was restrictive because it was only available between 7:30-8:45. Additionally, there is no secure storage room in the hotel. And there was also no safety lockboxes in the room.

The room was clean. The bathroom was clean. Room quiet warm even with the window open. Help yourself to tea and coffee downstairs. 10 mins walk from Paddington

Orchid Hotel Review I stayed at the Orchid Hotel for a week after leaving the Crown Royal IHG Hotel. Overall, the stay met my expectations. The room (107) was very clean, and the staff were warm, pleasant, and attentive. However, I rated the hotel 3 out of 5 due to a few key issues: Unreliable Internet – The Wi-Fi was unstable throughout my stay, which is critical in today’s environment. Despite being told it was working, other guests also reported similar issues. Reliable internet access is essential and should be prioritized. Ironing Facilities – There are no irons in the rooms. Guests are required to use a communal iron in the lobby, which is inconvenient and lacks privacy. Transportation – It was often difficult to catch an Uber or cab after 8 a.m. due to rush hour. While this is common in London, it’s worth noting for guests who need morning transportation. On the positive side, the hotel provides a simple breakfast (toast, boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheese, coffee/tea) that serves its purpose, even if basic. In summary, the Orchid Hotel is clean, affordable, and staffed by attentive employees, but it urgently needs improvements to its Wi-Fi and ironing facilities to deliver a more comfortable guest experience. You get what you pay for. A neat and clean room, a good bathroom with an excellent shower with plenty of hot water but no coffee making facilities and no shampoo etc just anti-germ soap. No air-condition. Breakfast is toast and cheese/ham and basic cereals. Good coffee and hot milk though 😀. The location next to a bus-stop and close to Paddington is very practical.

2 night work trip, another budgets hotel around Paddington. Booked single room. Was pleasantly surprised. Lovely spacious room. Clean and well maintained. Bathroom was also spacious with a great powerful shower. Hotel has a lift and breakfast is included, although I did not try it. Great location, easy access to underground and trains. Lots of food and drink options locally. Would highly recommend and will be trying to book again.

Just bed and limited breakfast – no facilities to make tea in the room, no kettle provided. However, the people are friendly.

Good location near Paddington Station. Hotel was ok but quite noisy from traffic. Breakfast offering was poor and no safestore of luggage. Otherwise clean and fair for price.

Seemed clean and safe. Good for a night or two on a bit of a budget. Mould growing on the ceiling in the bathroom and it didn't have any toiletries, a little annoying when your visiting but there is a shop in the train station that's close where you can purchase it all. Not much for soundproofing it is a little loud. Breakfast is a couple slices of toast and jam with deli meats, i probably would rather save the money and they just stopped the breakfast it's pretty pointless. Lots of coffee shops in the immediate area. Very average but it's somewhere to drop a bag and explore the city. Zero to no effort put into the experience from the staff. The room was older but the sheets and towels were clean. TV didn't work, no coffee machine or water glasses. Doors only barely open because the room is so small, you wouldn't be able to open a suitcase, you would have to put it on the bed. We were lucky we only bought a small backpack.

Really old fashioned. My bed sheet had what looked like a food stain on it. Cleanliness is everything!

Tiny but clean

The wallpaper was falling of the wall and there was mold behind the closet. The breakfast was some really dry toasted bread, som cheese and ham, flavored water and some lukewarm tea. The receptionist was nice and the check in was fast.

We liked nothing. What they call a hotel is a Victorian style house bed & breakfast (not a hotel). It is sub-standard with no tubs, toiletries other than soap, air conditioning, fridge, microwave. Wi-Fi was very weak. We chose a room with 3 beds and there was no space to move around. Their sub-standard breakfast was over at 8:45 AM. Worst of it all, the sheets and pillows were dirty. Stains in pillows and sheets. Sweaty smells on pillow cases, possible blood spots on sheets, and more. No views, my windows opened to pipes, walls, and other apartments windows. Worst experience in my life from a so-called hotel. Don't let the 3-star rating fool you. Don't make my mistake.

Stayed here for 3 nights in early January. The room was fairly small with 3 single beds, which was perfect as we’d booked a triple room. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was one of the comfiest that I’ve slept in. The bathroom was clean too with hand soap provided. We were on the top floor (3rd) and the wifi worked perfectly fine for everyone in the group. It’s worth noting that there isn’t a kettle provided in the room but downstairs in the communal lounge there is a kettle with tea, coffee and sugar that’s free and available for guests to use. This has to be drunk in the lounge, you can’t take any cups up to your room. The staff were very friendly, especially those working the breakfast shift who always greeted us warmly every morning. Breakfast is a simple affair of toast, jam, butter, ham, cheese, boiled eggs and cereal. Ample hot coffee and orange squash available too. Overall, I would happily stay at the Orchard Hotel again as it’s clean, safe, welcoming and a great price for the area.

On the positive the hotel was clean and warm on a cold winters’ night. However, the wallpaper was hanging off, the in our room shabby, there was no drinking water, soap or toothpaste etc. Breakfast was rudimentary: toast, ham, cheese and cereal. There were no good restaurants in the immediate vicinity. This is somewhere to kip down if in need.

A small and simple hotel for a few days stay, with short walk to bus and Paddington Station. The rooms were a bit old, but the bathrooms were clean. Make sure to bring your own soap! The breakfast was very simple, but with a very nice staff, it’s a good start to the day.

A friend and I booked a 2 single bed room. The pictures showed a small but suitable room. The research I did showed a statement there was A/C. The street outside the Hotel was busy 24 hours/day. The hotel was clean and well maintained and the staff was cheerful, friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was TINY! It was 8ftx15ft, and that included the bath, which was less than 8ftx3ft. What looked like a desk in the photos was 7 inches deep. The bath was so small that a 6'2" man could not wash his face with the door closed, It was like an airplane toilet with a 30inchx30inch shower. It was not possible for 2 people to stand side by side in the majority of the room. There was no A/C. The room was warm, too warm to sleep unless the window was open all night, with the traffic noise a constant disturbance. The room was not suitably sized for 2 adults. The lack of A/C made sleep difficult. Again, the staff was great and the hotel was clean, but it was as advertised.

This place is TINY literally, it felt it was made for little people. You can literally brush your teeth at the safe time you are taking a poop. If you are tall or overweight don’t rent this room, you won’t fit into the bathroom, I am 6’1” and trouble going to the toilet it was so small, the shower same thing, doesn’t have good water pressure. The beds are twin size, the hallway was wide as my arms. The worse part of it all super noisy at night and NO air conditioner for those hot nights. The include breakfast is misleading, it’s nothing but toast, coffee, jams, and hard boiled eggs, for the kids milk and cereal, no hot breakfast as it showed on the picture.

It was reasonably quiet, provided the window wasn't open - will be a problem in the summer and with a room at the front of the building. The bed was too firm for us and we prefer to have a kettle in the room, rather than have to go to the ground floor to make a cuppa. Would proabably not stay there again.

The room was ok. Although the TV was broken and no alternative available. The flue from the boiler was outsode the window and noisy all night. Only 1 pillow each too

All clean. Staff excellent. Bedroom compact. Bathroom probaby the smallest I have ever attempted to use. Need to be a cobtortionist to use the loo, and when sat down one leg us underneath the sink. Ridiculous. Extremely basic (cheap) "continental" breakfast.

Clean room, only issue is that windowcin room 304 doesn't close fully so cannot be latched closed.

Location good, room too small and wifi speed are very low.

My window had no Lock.

GOT a room in the basement which was close to a very noisy aircondition or something- impossible to sleep as it started every hour during the night

The room was ok, but inside the room the heater didnt work or warmed up the room. Only the one at toilet was working. The reception guy didnt welcomed us. We needed to say Hi so he can actually check our passports and more. He was probably watching his phone or computer programs. Next day breakfast was ok not much selection. The receptionist again did something we didnt like. Turned off the wifi half an hour before our checkout. Was critical time for us because we was trying to check buses and our routes for the day and the internet maginally went off. When i asked what happened they said that never happened. But clearly someone disconnected the wifi router.

I am a solo business traveller and this hotel was ideal for my needs. The room was spacious for a single, clean and modern. Check in was fast and efficient and it was easy for links to Paddington.

Good location and clean… the kitchen staff was so very friendly and helpful… but the room was cold.. we asked for extra blankets and was given a hard time about it… eventually we got one… front desk put a sign on the locked door… back in 10-15 minutes… it was cold and rainy outside… we rang the bell and he got angry with us… but the rest was ok

Nice hotel with breakfast in a quiet area. Underground stations are within walking distance as well as Hyde Park where I was visiting to see a concert.

Good sized room. Decor a bit old and tired but good value for money. Breakfast basic. Easy walk to Paddington Station and other transport options nearby.

Fantastic location. Walking distance to Hyde park, Oxford Street/Soho etc. not dw and quiet. Very clean. Only issue we had is a that we are vegan so breakfast wasn’t great. But to be fair the staff did run to shop for pay milk

Simple, basic hotel, very clean! Bathroom toiletries (apart from hand soap and toilet paper, shower towels) not provided which was ok, we have had own shampoo and shower gel. Room and bathroom clean. Disappointed with Continental Breakfast. Providing ham, cheese, boiled egg, jam and cereal isn't a Continental Breakfast. Fresh breakfast but very poor selection.

Breakfast was very busy and people had to queue for a table then for a drink then for a spoon etc etc. The hotel itself was OK for the price (no frills) and a little noisy over night

Lovely stay at the Orchard Hotel, staff were amazingly friendly and knew the best ways to travel to places of interest. My room was cleaned every day, fresh towels were provided regularly. The breakfast consisted of fruit juice, boiled eggs, cereal, cheese, cold meat toast & jam. It was enough for me. You can meet other travellers in the small lounge where you can have coffee& tea. Choice of restaurants within a couple of hundred metres is very good.

Yes, but….the building is nice and clean. I have only the disappoint about breakfast, very short time to have it(7.30-8.45) usually you need wait minutes to have a table. To eat only 3 options: boiled egg, ham cheese, bread and cereals.if you stay just a couple of days is fine, if like us 5 days this is little bit boaring
