DoubleTree by Hilton London - Chelsea

One of two elevators was not working for 5 of 6 days of my stay, in a 7 story hotel. Taking the stairs as an alternative was challenging because they stored extra chairs in the hallway--A FIRE SAFETY HAZARD. When I checked out the hotel manager harassed me for 7 minutes, denying the hallways had chairs (since remove.) He even said, I should not have been using the stairs as there are two elevators. I reminded him one elevator was not working for 5 days. This hotel is skimping on maintenance to have an elevator out for 5 days, and trying to save on labor costs by using fire exits for chair storage. This place is dangerous.

This hotel has enjoyed a refurbishment quite recently and is better for it. The bar area is very smart and service is good. Unfortunately, the frequent trips back and forward to reception to constantly have your magnetic key card reprogrammed spoil the experience. “The card is sensitive to your phone” excuse is lame. I walked from reception to the lift like a mobile crucifixion to avoid demagnetising my room card but nevertheless it still didn’t work. Come on DT, it is 2024 please sort this out!!!

I chose this property as needed parking which it said was on site and it wasn’t on site but across the road. I had to park a long way up the street, ask reception where the parking was then return to car and go across road to car park. It was raining and dark and not ideal.

Bar staff excellent Check in better than last time although they didnt have my wake up call logged until i phoned to double check. Helpful and polite at desk. The 2nd lift has been repaired finally. Corridors still had food trays. On the whole a pleasant and easy stay. Carlos in the bar restaurant is super professional and on the ball.

The hotel is quite nice and lovely. However, there was only one elevator that worked instead of two during my stay of 6 days. The front desk staff were friendly but quite overwhelmed because of the number of people checking in at the same time. Breakfast was average and could use a few more selection of food.

My fault, but the location was a bit too far out of London. It took about 40min to get anywhere. One of the lifts was broken. I asked when it be fixed & was told it had been like that for 5-6 months! The staff were friendly & tried their best. On check-out we were advised that the lift would finally get repaired in the next few weeks. Whilst Im capable of walking the stairs, there was a backlog of guests trying to move about the floors. I don’t usually write a poor review, but I would not stay in this hotel again.

Convenient quiet location, nice restaurant and bar. Requested early check-in due to early international flight arrival. Neha was very helpful and accommodating. Friendly staff and clean.

No ice machines , poor room housekeeping cleaning , only one elevator working . 5/10 at most

Great location comfortable area to walk and exercise. Parking garage next to the hotel was great as well.

Overall was a good stay, only thing were the pillows not being comfy and the shower pressure was pretty poor, not what you want when you need a good old scrub a dub! Parking is also very expensive!

The staff were friendly and always helped us as soon as we needed anything. However, the hotel room was not clean (boogers on the wall) and the shower was not clean either. As for the shower: the water pressure was a total disaster! There was hardly any water coming out of the shower and so it took ages to wash our hair. That was really the worst!! I can understand that you have to save water, but it can't be that extreme. It really only came drop by drop. So the price-performance ratio was not right for me. I wouldn't stay here again.

The room was spacious and provided us with the things we needed. While the room was clean when we arrived, the housekeeping services missed cleaning our room one of the days of our stay (though we were out of the room from 9:30 am until 10pm that night). The front desk staff was inconsistent. Some were more knowledgeable than others and they were not always available at the front desk. When they were there, they did their best to be helpful.

Rooms were filthy and gross , puke stains , coffee stains , sheets had stains . Never offered to compensate for any of it . Absolute worst experience of all my travels

The hotel stay itself was nice, but housekeeping did not do a good job and I kept my room pretty organized. When I dropped my earbuds it was clear that housekeeping didn’t clean because there was hair and trash underneath the bed from the prior guest. Oh, and maybe there was a shortage on towels because they were hard to come by.

The shower was low pressure, the staff cleaning was poor and wash the cups ad glasses in the bathroom sink and we had to go get clean ones from bar area.

No issues on anything, anywhere. Everything was so smooth and the room was great.

This hotel is in a quiet lovely part of London, just 2minutes away from an overground station, making it extremely convenient for public transportation. One thing about our room; the ventilation. There was poor ventilation and when we would come back from our day’s outing, it would smell like cigarette. Probably a neighboring room that was smoking indoors when they shouldn’t have been. But it really gave us a headache. And the door handle to our bathroom wasn’t properly attached. Other than that, pleasant staff, lovely architecture. I would probably go back given the chance. But I would ask for a room with a view that’s for sure.

Overall a relatively well located hotel (Imperial Wharf overland train connects well with the wider underground network) and good family room which was clean and quiet. Only issue was that a neighbouring room was clearly smoking and the vents in the room meant there was a huge stench of cigarettes which was really quite unpleasant. We advised staff but it continued.

Very roomy with comfortable beds. Hair dryer and mini refrigerator in room. There was no microwave. Very convenient for transportation as there is a train station right around the corner (less than a 5 minute walk from hotel). Concierge staff was very helpful with directions and arranging car service for early morning tours when trains and buses were not yet available. Very pleasant and comfortable stay.

The family room was very small , Also beds were hard and i had the worst nights sleep, waking with a back and neck ache. The room was very over priced. Breakfast was average and cost extra. I would never stay at this hotel again.

The front desk staff were great, friendly and attentive to solving issues, but unfortunately the sound travel between rooms was awful and the key card entry system to the rooms seemed generally faulty resulting in having to change rooms and even the second room had the same issue. The sound issue would be a deal breaker against booking again for an otherwise reasonable hotel.

The bed was so hard we both couldn't sleep. Called the desk and they added a mattress topper which did nothing.

Another great stay at the Doubletree. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble.

Overall a great experience. We arrived early intending only to drop our bags off and they let us check in early as a room was ready. They were thoughtful about the hot weather and handed us bottles of water without us needing to ask. Room was quiet and clean, not huge with the extra bed for our son but big enough for a short stay. It’s in a lovely area which feels like it has and is being refurbished all around the hotel. Only a couple of mins walk to Imperial Wharf Overground station - great to get to Westfield Shopping. Not quite so well connected to underground but not horrendous. If you like coffee Mrs Bee Coffee is a two min walk round the corner in Park Street and is wonderful. My only criticism is breakfast. It was very average and despite being quite prompt after it started everything in the buffet felt like it had been sitting there quite a while. Overall didn’t diminish a good stay.

During the first night a male member of staff woke us up in the middle by letting himself into our room at midnight and waking us up. We literally screamed and so he shut the door and left. He then mumbled something about ice, but I’m not sure why he was looking for an excuse when the fact is he should be knocking anyway. Did the ordeal end there? No. After bolting the door and having to manually ensure our own safety, we finally got back to sleep, or my friend did at least, I was less receptive to sleeping in an area where any male member of staff can apparently walk in to to young girls rooms. lol and behold a phone call from reception. A bit late I thought, but perhaps a misguided attempt from someone on reception to apologise. Oh no, someone now giving me the third degree wondering why we were in the room we had paid for. Eventually they hung up only to once again call back demanding to know my name and basically implying we had done something wrong. Next morning we go down after a sleepless and horrible night. The MAN (for we had only encountered male members of staff thus far) barely apologise deferring accountability to the booking system and claiming their had been a mistake and the system had said the room was empty. Doesn’t answer why a random male member of staff was entering the room after midnight or why he then lied about ice; it must have been a lie if this new truth is to be believed. The situation worsened but Hilton won’t allow me to write more.

Use Doubletrees often and this one is below par - uninterested and uncourteous check in, 2 towels for 3 of us, shower gel empty. Nice properly but no one seemed like they could be bothered. Better choices for the money.

I had paid for the hotel stay before our arrival. However the hotel reception team asked My card details ‘ just for security reason’. I noticed that they charged £133.81 and they still have not refund the fee yet. Today is the third day I am chasing my refund. I have fund the hotel staff very unprofessional, rude and inefficient. I would never stay again and would not recommend to my family or friends to use Hilton hotel chain.

We booked two rooms well in advance . One for myself and wife and one for our adult children. We were able to check in one room at 2.00pm and were advised the other room would be ready at 3.00pm. We informed the reception that we were going to Hyde park for a Stevie Wonder concert and would be back at 11.45 ish. On returning to the hotel they informed us that they were now overbooked by four rooms. We were tired and not impressed wirh this at all. We were offered another hotel for half of our party! After a while the receptionist eventually came up with an available room. I won’t be staying at this hotel again as our booking was not honoured and we felt like they were doing us a favour when they eventually found an available room.

Tube station is right behind the hotel which was wonderful!

A great location. There is the C3 bus stop right outside the hotel which will take you to a subway station to downtown London. Staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend purchasing the breakfast buffet in advance if you’re from Canada, as it’s a better deal.

Great location near Overground Station and well appointed hotel in a good area.

An easy place to stay if you want to access West and Central London

Excellent hotel in a lovely quiet area, close to a train station, coffee shops and Tesco. Hotel meets usual standard you’d expect from a Double Tree! Would definitely stay again.

Nice area and close to the train. Store right across the street for essentials.

Staff was very helpful and very friendly. However, there aren't a lot of dining or shopping options around. But you can take the Underground train that is right behind the hotel and go to the main shopping, eating or site seeing areas.

Good quality hotel supported by helpful staff. Reasonable tariff. Off beat location but good public transport nearby.

Surprisingly good stay. I was going to Fulham match and a friend recommended. Staff was very friendly, especially the gentleman who served me breakfast. The breakfast itself was better than expected. No complaints about the hotel

Breakfast was well stocked. Lots of choice and very warm considering it was help your self.

The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, the hotel itself was clean and fresh and the breakfast was really good, much tastier and better quality than a typical hotel buffet breakfast. One night I needed some milk for my child because I had forgotten to sort it on the way back, the bar staff were so accommodating and went out of their way to sort it out for me.

Excellent staff at hotel as well as the connected restaurant. Breakfast in the morning was also delicious with excellent service. We were very pleased with everything.

Everything good apart from breakfast which was terrible. 8.45 am and no cooked foot, too crowded tables and poor service. I stayed five minutes and had a croissant and an apple in my room.

Great place to stay. Great location. Very comfortable and very clean and generous amount of shampoo and body wash. Not any other hotels with small tiny bottles. The whole TEAM STAFF was excellent and well spoken. Thank you for the complimentary drinks coupon. Love the Christmas decorations. The breakfast spread was so good. Shall definitely stay there again!

This hotel has a consistency problem, one day no food for breakfast, the towels may or may not be delivered to your room, and people there are just rude.
