The Anndore House, part of JDV by Hyatt

The room was amazing. Staff were helpful and very attentive. My only gripe was lack of signage. The front entrance was quite difficult to find as well as parking in the garage for the hotel. When crowds of people stand around and homeless covering the entrance, makes it seem as though it wasn’t the right way to enter. Valet wasn’t visible to grab my attention and unloading the car was stressful due to the fact that you have to block a lane of traffic on a busy street. Other than that, great location and very convenient with a lot of stores, restaurants and things to do in the area.

Nice accommodations in a great location. The valet parking needs an additional person. There is just one guy and there is no way he can handle all of it.

So nice and such a reasonable price! The gym is a 3 min walk away and not in the hotel but it’s complimentary. Attached restaurant is very good. Can be a little loud but that’s any hotel really.

Check in was quick and easy, we arrived early and was happy to see that the room was ready, so early check in plus! Parking is right across the street from hotel, cute terrace and very nice bar and restaurant. Subway and shopping on Bloor just a block away. Would definitely come back.

Hotel was hard to find at first. No marking on the building of the name. Parking was valet and they were busy so I had to valet myself but still pay the $45.00.

Hotel was beautiful, once you could find it. Valet parking was a joke. Just park at the green P across the street. Poor hotel signage. No record player or vinyl selection in the room, as promoted.

Nice hotel, but hard to spot from the street because they had the rain/weather curtains covering up the outdoor patio section and sign for the hotel. Lobby bar looked very cool and intriguing - just didn’t have time

Cute little hotel, good location close to the subway, bed comfort was okay not great, housekeeping was great, staff was very welcoming and helpful (shout out to the irish bartender with great recommendations). Thought we were getting a record player in room but we didn't. No hotel gym either.

Anndore House is located very close to the Yonge/Bloor junction, so you are right there are at the TTC, and an easy walk to the Royal Ontario Museum and Queen\'s Park, as well as to The Concert Hall (at the former Masonic Temple). The TTC will get you to most other major Toronto attractions easily. My biggest issue is that the hotel\'s valet service can\'t handle a manual transmission vehicle. The hotel itself (and the "valet dropoff") is very hard to find if you don\'t know exactly where to look/pull over on Charles Street (we literally drove past it twice), and then it turned out that none of the valets could drive a stick shift, so I still ended up parking the car myself. Even the next morning, the morning crew couldn\'t drive stick, so I got to retrieve my own car. It\'s not like I didn\'t trust the valets with my little underpowered Crosstrek; but they honestly balked at trying to drive it. Beyond that, the site was decent enough. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and had a good choice of channels. There was some street noise that awoke my husband at night (I\'m partially deaf and didn\'t hear it). Still, the area looks a little rundown, but we felt safe enough coming back after a concert at the Masonic Temple/The Concert Hall, which was about a ten minute walk. We also walked to/from the Royal Ontario Museum. Overall, I liked the site, and thought it was a decent enough place to stay. Four star hotel? That may be a stretch, but the staff was very nice.

Clean and spacious. Great location. The bed was very comfortable. We'll be back!

This is not the advertised 4.9 rating on expedia. The property is runned down, rooms are dirty and smell of mold and feet. You can hear the next door rooms throught the walls and its overall in a very crowded area of Broadway. Its not a 4 star hotel, the condition of the hotel is deplorable and unacceptable. Surprised its considered part of Hyatt.

Our room was lovely big and very clean.Thank you housekeeping. Any staff we spoke to were courteous and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to visit Canada again.

There was no coffee in the rooms. Had to go down to front desk. Smallest cups ever in the hall way which was full of people. Lots of hair on the bathroom floor.

A cleaned room during stay, however cleanliness in public area was out of expectation and strange that the escalator was out of turn.

Really nice hotel in a great location. Very close to subway stops, and surrounded by tons of good food. The hotel bar is really nice too. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was pretty quiet, considering the location. The walls between the rooms are quite thin, though.

They do not have Netflix or any other video streaming, “smart” TV mirroring with androids The check-out staff did not care to apologize when you already there and finally discover the tv problems when you tried to relax at night The matter is The TV restricting issues are not disclosed when you book the stay I would Not book the stay if I knew as a booked the suite to have TV time during the thanksgiving break In addition Their option for web search on their “smart “ tv gives a warning of unsafe network and if you are brave to cross it still does not work

I like the decor of the industrial modern look. The TV was horrible. Keeps turning off to restart every hour. Did not get a chance to enjoy movies

Loved the hotel, especially the decor. Really modern and vibey. The staff was great too. Great location really near everywhere you want to get to. Just a couple of things weren’t so great, though. Firstly in the room there was a big rug on the floor which I tripped over numerous times. I felt it should be secured to the floor as it could be a tripping hazard for older people, especially. Secondly, I had to call down to reception just before midnight to complain about my neighbours who were really loud and disruptive and preventing guests from sleeping. Although they stopped at night, they resumed the noise in the morning.

We had a good stay at The Anndore House, which is conveniently located near the Bloor-Yonge TTC station. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean with modern and aesthetically pleasing decor/finishes. On the downside, our room's HVAC unit was quite loud the first night, but the staff were able to fix that issue the next day. We were looking forward to a better sleep the following night, but some other guests were arguing very loudly on our floor, and between the yelling, swearing, and slamming doors, it did not make for a restful night. Of course the other guests' behaviour is not the hotel's fault, but it did make me think that better soundproofing would have helped mitigate the issue. Despite these hiccups, we would still recommend Anndore House to others.

Great location near Bloor Street. Room was spacious and Skoah products were a great touch. However the bathroom could do with an extra shelf for wash bags/makeup storage . Noise- Because it was a tiled floor there was a bit more noise from other rooms . Garbage trucks were incredibly loud in the early morning. Overall it was a good hotel especially for a weekend stay and good value for money

Awesome location. 2 minutes away from the subway. A few minutes away from many food places. Spacious and clean room. The building was renovated a few years ago. Feels new. Very nice staff. The only downside I had was the missing microwave. I would really suggest the hotel to include a microwave in the room.

The walls are paper thin… I was up all night with people screaming all around me. When informed, the front desk said I should have called them earlier. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was divided-which was inconvenient.

I love boutique hotels and this one was impeccable. The staff throughout the property were wonderful!

It was my birthday and we were staying at the hotel for the Taylor Swift concert. We could’ve been staying at a Super 8 and would’ve been thrilled, however the Anndore House made our entire experience 5 stars. My sister had called in advance to let them know it was my birthday and to request early check in. They said we would be able to check in at 2pm, they let us check in at 12:30pm. They also gifted us a suite upgrade to a higher floor and 4 free cocktails at the hotel restaurant, which was some of the best food we’ve ever had. Don’t have enough good things to say about this hotel.

We booked this hotel, but they sent us to another hotel without telling us a specific reason. We had a lengthy conversation with another hotel to check in. Also hotel quality was not satisfactory, while they told me it would be the same level. Unfortunately, I couldn't have a good impression of this hotel.

Amazing place. I mentioned casually during check-in that it was my son's birthday the following day. While we were out they put a surprise slice of bday cake in the fridge for him. I didn't request this, and the fact that they made this incredibly kind gesture spontaneously speaks volumes of the staff. 25/10 would recommend to anyone.

My wife and I really liked everything about the Anndore House in Toronto with the very notable exception of the homeless camp outside our side of the hotel. We were awoken at some time each of the four nights we stayed by screaming and/or dogs barking. I would stay there again if I could be assured that we would have a room on the other side of the hotel. Otherwise, the staff was friendly, helpful and efficient, and the room and hallway were pristine. Thanks to the staff!!

This is a really great hotel! The rooms have a very downtown loft vibe to them and had everything we needed for our stay. They let us check in early when we requested and they were very accommodating for our dog. They even offered us food and water dishes for him. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful! The only downfall was that there is what seemed to be a shelter 2 doors down from the hotel. That being said, it was in a pretty central area (very close to Bloor and Yonge) and there was lots of foot trafic so it felt safe.

Excellent location

The hotel was very comfortable and very clean. It was in a perfect location for exploring Downtown Toronto and within walking distance (20-30 mins) of all main attractions and tourist sites.

Overall, a very nice place to stay when you have to be in the big crazy rat race of Toronto. Despite being right off Yonge and Bloor it’s actually relatively quiet and decently peaceful, although there is certainly a much larger vagrant population in the area than they used to be. It’s a relatively small hotel, which is great and the customer service ethic is very good. The rooms are a little bit more lofty and feel which is great so you don’t feel like you’re in the typical big boring corporate hotel. My only issue was I like sleeping with it cool and the temperature would not go below 18.5 and the heat would come on even when I turned it off. Other than that, I really like the place and the fact that you can open the windows.

The property itself was enjoyable and aesthetically pleasant. The air conditioned room was an oasis during the record heat and humidity. Very close to the property is a little park where homeless individuals gather. This is somewhat to be expected in any major city; you just need to be alert and aware. I don’t recommend parking in the public garage across the street. Our rental car was targeted and marked with grease, but we didn’t leave anything valuable inside. Use the hotel’s valet service instead; it sounded more secure.

Good overall location for walking. Clean Room, good vibe in the hotel. Nice Staff. Homeless camp right outside the building. I would not use this for a couples stay or if you have kids - Fire and Police make 3 to 5 visits a day to deal with the homeless situation. , Good for business needs, very fair price - Next stay I'll try a different location due to the homeless tent camp which unfortunately is nothing the hotel can do about.

Alot of homeless around the hotel asking for money didn’t feel vary safe walking back to the hotel at night.

The Anndore was a great place stay for all the family. Fantastic room, great location 5 mins from Metro. The room was pretty cool, good view of the city, liked the shower-room especially and the bed was very comfy. A/C was good but a bit noisy. Staff were great and had our room ready for us even tho we arrived far earlier than the check-in time We only ate in the hotel once, for breakfast, which was very tasty, but we used the adjoining Scarlet Door coffee shop a couple of times for coffee and pastry. Great coffee btw! I would highly recommend the Anndore hotel if you are ever needing an upmarket stay in downtown Toronto 😎😎😎

Very nice hotel in good area of Toronto. The lobby and bar/restaurant is great. Good food and drinks as well. The rooms were spacious and clean. I was there with a buddy for a Jays game but would stay here again with my family.

We were disappointed to find out upon arrival that the bar and restaurant would be closed for the whole day for a private event. Rooms are very nice though.
