Hotel Metropole Suisse

The Hotel occupies an enviable position right on the waterfront in Como and was once, I’m sure, the Grande Dame of Como hotels. However it really does need an update, not too much and not in the “international style” but a sympathetic renovation worthy of such a building. All the ingredients are there - the staff are fabulous- just needs an update and then it would perfect.

Perfect location Better not to have a car as train station and ferry are easily accessible by foot. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

Rooms are a bit old - I was expecting a better room specially because I choose a superior room. Bathroom too small.

Very old property.

Very centrally located and good for getting around the lake
