At my request my room was on a low floor because I knew in advance that there wasn’t an elevator. This made my stay much more comfortable. The hotel is a 25 minute walk (almost completely flat) to the historic area. Very convenient location.

Disappointed in this hotel, despite advertising they have multi lingual staff, free onsite parking and valet parking, they don’t have any of these. The rooms are clean and the terrace was nice to sit on but the whole place is generally fairly old and run down.

The hotel was not in bad condition and the breakfast was decent. Staff were friendly for most part. The hotel is a long walk from the city center, but a train station and bus options are nearby. The biggest problem is that they did not let me use the air conditioner. The lady at reception told me that by Florence law air conditioning cannot be used until June. I was on the third floor and there was a ceiling window I had to open to be able to sleep. Because of that mosquitoes ate me. Really concerned about catching a vector disease. My mattress was wet the day I arrived. I think the window was open and it rained. Bathroom drain smelled. There is a code to enter the property after hours and it took several tries to get in. First time it happened, I panicked thinking I was going to sleep on the street.

Shocking absolutely not as advertised unsafe for solo travellers no lounge no bar as advertised. Staff rude, dirty do not speak . Refused a refund. Put on the phone to a random person who told me to Fox off!! Stay away!!! I would doubt any of the reviews are genuine. No point did I feel safe? This place needs to be removed from Hotels.com if you’re a single female travelling alone do not go anywhere near it.

Pontos positivos: cama confortável, quarto grande e café da manhã razoavelmente bom (café, croassant, pão, queijo, iogurte e um bolo). Localização próxima a estação de trem (aproximadamente 5 minutos de caminhada). Atendimento da senhorinha que fica na recepção na parte da tarde foi muito bom. Pontos que não gostamos: box do banheiro é montável, molha muito e é desconfortável. O principal ponto negativo foi ter que pagar 5 euros por noite para ter o ar condicionado.

Wir haben noch nie ein so schlechtes Hotel erlebt. Vor allem, wenn man weiß, wie viel eine Nacht kostet. Erstens wurde an der Rezeption ausschließlich auf Italienisch mit uns gesprochen. Das zweite, was uns auffiel, waren die alten (gut gewaschenen) farbigen Handtücher. Wir sind nicht gegen Blumen, wir sind für die Weichheit dieser Handtücher. Die Handtücher sind etwa 20 Jahre alt. Die Betten sind wie aus dem letzten Jahrhundert, harte Liegen. Die Schalldämmung ist schrecklich – alles, was außerhalb des Zimmers passierte, war in unserem Zimmer zu hören. Frühstück.... Wenn Sie hungrig bleiben möchten, heißen wir Sie im Hotel Villa Il Kashtania willkommen. Der einzige Pluspunkt dieses Hotels ist seine Lage, aber wir glauben, dass es für einen Preis von -142 Euro innerhalb der Altstadt und keinen Kilometer davon entfernt zu finden ist! Wir hatten eine Woche vor der Reise keine andere Wahl. Sollten Sie Ihre ernährenden Kunden auf diese Weise nicht respektieren?

Soggiorno pessimo. Siamo arrivati in questo pseudo-hotel e non trovando parcheggio siamo andati presso la reception per chiedere all’albergatore dove fosse il parcheggio convenzionato con la struttura. La risposta è stata che a lui non interessava che non riuscissimo a trovare parcheggio ed in più che quello convenzionato con loro fosse lontano e costasse €15 il giorno. Anche se lontano abbiamo scelto di andare. Arriviamo in quella camera ardente che loro definiscono camera, orribile, sporca e sulla strada, perciò si sentiva il continuo passare delle macchine. Usciamo per cenare, al ritorno decidiamo di fare una doccia. Apriamo è la prima cosa che ci salta alla vista sono peli e capelli, ci mettiamo le infradito e decidiamo comunque di farla, purtroppo lo scarico era intasato perciò l’acqua ha cominciato a spargersi per tutto il bagno. Un’esperienza pessima , non pernotterò mai più in questo posto è in piu lo sconsiglierei a tutti. Oltretutto per un pernottamento di una sola notte ci hanno chiesto più di €100 quando invece la camera ne vale massimo €30

Location is okay and safe but you will need to take a taxi to train terminal or downtown to the touristic attractions ($15-20 euros) Good breakfast too. Overall recommend.

Very little communication, couldn’t even sleep there one of the nights because we were locked out and no one will give you the code when you check in you have to ask. The second night I was woken up to banging on the front door at 3 am by another couple people being locked out. They had the key code and it still didn’t work. Bathrooms are not clean. Spent a lot of money just to sleep outside the first night, the next day when we finally got into bed we only had a few hours of sleep before the staff was unlocking our door and trying to come in while we were asleep. Very unprofessional 0/10. Don’t stay here, the Casaldo’s rooms next door is way better and let us sleep in their spa because they had no rooms for the night and kept us off the street.

The balcony view is amazing.... Totally worth it the inner garden with lemon trees and a big cypress on the adjacent property the balcony has a roll up tent. Also a cute ginger cat!

My flight got delayed so I showed up late around 10:30p at the hotel on Tue, Nov 11 2025. The front desk was so so so rude that he was mad at me that he asked me why I came in late and I explained to him that my flight got delayed. I apologized him several times and he he was staring at me and said "Sorry, Sorry, sorry.. Sorry for what?" He also said he would not want to accept me next time. He treated me like a homeless guy or garbage. I felt so embarrassing. He asked me to pay 9 euro for city tax and I gave him a 20 euro bill and he was so mad and raised his voice "I want exact 9 euro" Luckily I was able to find some changes to sum up to 9 euros. It was a most terrible experience that I I had ever had at hotel in my life. Why in the world there is a service man who treats customer terribly like that? I was so sad.

A modest hotel a 15 minute walk to the heart of the city. There is some free parking in the street, if you aren't lucky to get one of these the paid parking is only from 8am to 8pm. So even then it's not so bad.

Hôtel mal situé (à proximité de la voie ferrée) et ce qui m'a rendu furieux c'est que lors de la réservation on m'a confirmé qu'il y a un parking appartenant à l'hôtel. Or en arrivant à l'hôtel la réceptionniste m'a dit qu'il faut chercher un parking à proximité et dont la plupart sont payants à l'heure. Après avoir passé 30 mn à chercher en vain, j'étais obligé de payer un garage parking à 30 € la journée. Je ne recommande pas cet hôtel aux automobilistes et encore moins aux non motorisés du fait de son éloignement du centre ville. En outre le petit-déjeuner laisse à désirer...

Das Hotel ist in einer ruhigen Seitenstrasse der Via degli Artisti gelegen, keinerlei Auto- oder sonstwie Lärm. in 15 mins war man zu Fuss am Duomo. Unser Empfang war freundlich, generell ist das Personal sehr hilfsbereit und nett. Wir hatten Glück und bekamen eins der Balkonzimmer nach hinten zum Garten raus - das war wirklich schön, man konnte morgens und abends toll sitzen. Mittags waren wir unterwegs :-). Frühstück ist halt typisch italienisch - wer Rührei und Käseplatte erwartet, ist halt hier falsch- war aber reichlich und es gab immer leckeren Kuchen und Obst. Kaffee war genial! Die Einrichtung ist optisch leicht in die Jahre gekommen (will sagen: altmodisch) , aber das sieht man bereits auf den Fotos, das solle eigentlich dann vor Ort keine Überraschung sein. Betten waren top und alles war sauber und funktionierte. Parkplatz vor der Tür war auch kein Problem. Wir empfehlen es !
