Newly renovated rooms and lobby. Pool will reopen in June. Same great staff and the new menu at the Grille is great. This is our go to getaway from Reno. Casino and bowling alley is a fun combination. Gold Dust West Carson City is a house full of friends.

Second time staying at the Gold Dust West. This property is very well kept and we return to it for Labor Day Weekend. We enjoy the proximity to Lake Tahoe and it offers very competitive prices. We also really enjoy the amenities especially the gym, jacuzzi, and breakfast they offer.

Good place to stay. Keep in mind it is a casino in Nevada and they do allow smoking inside. There are air purifiers everywhere in the hallways but they can only do so much. The Grill restaurant is a fabulous place to eat. Everything we ordered there was great, especially the ribeye

Beds were very comfortable. Ended up not using the pool or spa, pool was too cold and the spa was way too hot. The gym is very sad; all old equipment, 1 mat, 1- 10 lbs free weight. It was nice though to have breakfast vouchers for each day to use within the restaurant. Service in the restaurant was great. All the staff were super nice and friendly. We couldn’t bowl due to league night. Would have been been nice if they would leave at least left 1-2 lanes opens for guests.

Very nice rooms and good food in restaurant. However casino smoke is strong in the hotel lobby and halls. Room smelled ok. Hot tub and pool are seasonal and were closed. Breakfast requires you to eat at the restaurant which we did not have time for. I’d prefer to go options.

Based off an 2 week stay for work. All in all not a bad place, staff is good, dealers are nice, food is ok. Prime rib was good. Breakfast selection was ok, cafe staff was good. Bowling on the property was a plus. The bad part was we had 4 double suites and 2 of them smelled heavy of ant spray, gave us a headache the first 2 days. Never seen ants, must have been cleaned up prior to our stay. Second bad part was the spa, sat down and was reading a book, looked around after a few and noticed it had a heavy green foam and a crust around the tile.(nasty) Was already in so I gave it a chance thinking someone had dumped soap in the spa!! some people had complained. Ended up showering after and itched like crazy. We came back the next day the foam was gone but still a green crust around the tile. Never went back in.

When I registered all their systems were down and when I was able to check in the HVAC didn’t work because the WiFi was down. Found ants in the room. Everything smelled of cigarette smoke

The housekeeping staff were excellent. They were quick to bring more toilet paper and pillows as we requested. There was some mold around the toilet, but once it was brought to their attention, they remediated the problem. Great location and good brealfast.

The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the pool was nice. Our room's door had a 1/2 inch gap. You could see into our room from the hallway if you looked through it. The fridge had spilled food and containers of food from the last guest. There were boogers wiped on the wall. The beds were uncomfortable. The floor of the main entry to the hotel was dirty and needed to be mopped. Oh, and not to mention the $50 resort fee that I did not see mentioned on their webpage when I looked them up. I paid $200 for a room I would not have spent $50 on had I known how filthy it would be. Oh, and the breakfast topped it off. Nothing like microwaved sausages. Not even my 2-year-old ate, and she eats anything. Very dissatisfied. Im tryimg to load photos but unable i will post them on google

Rented the nicer room with the jacuzzi. (Notes )the property was under remodel so it might have been that. Room was nice had two rooms first was small kitchen area with microwave and small refrigerator then a kitchen table for a setting for three people then a small living room area with a couch, chair tv. Go into next room a large king bed then the jacuzzi which worked amazing. My issue was I notice things. All surface areas were clean but you could see a drink was spilled on the night stand area and it got the wall and they didn’t clean that it was like that in the kitchen area as well on the walls. I understand the maids only get a certain amount of time to clean but in some cases if things are notice they should be allowed longer. Then the bed if you like an extra firm bed this is your place. I couldn’t sleep on it I was on the chair most of the night. This is a king bed and it only had three small pillows so if you are a pillow person it would be best to bring your own.

Over all fist impression was I had to check in a little earlier, our room was ready for us. The host at the front was Maria, she was extremely friendly and nice. It’s always a huge plus to be welcomed in that manner. The room was very nice. Bed was very comfortable & New. I called to get an extra blanket, I mentioned I would be right down. The front desk person said oh no I will be right up. Thank you for the awesome staff.

Whilst comfortable the room was extremely noisy I could hear my neighbors talking and upstairs sounded like they were remodeling. The 2inch gap around the door meant that sound carried from the hallways very loudly..ALL members of staff that we came in contact with were extremely efficient and friendly

The property was located close to the freeway and many spots in Lake Tahoe were easily accessible. The room had all amenities like TV, Refrigerator, Air Conditioner and microwave. The room and toilet were clean and well maintained.

The hotel is new so in regards to condition it was good. Only thing I didn't like was the smell of cigarette throughout the hotel and the low quality air conditioner our room had that was loud and woke us up a couple times through the night. Other than that it was ok.

The room and facilities are very nice. The room that we stayed in was recently updated very nicely. We liked the beautiful bathroom with plenty of soap and shampoo in convenient pumps. We like the new artwork of local areas.

Charged room cleaning service fee for two days when there was a letter there would be no room cleaning until the third day of service stay and only when requested. We did not request so why the charge? Also worst pillows ever encountered in any hotel

The manger left a message on my phone saying that they have “evidence” I smoked inside my room and they had already charged my card $250. I called him immediately and explained that I have never smoked in my life and absolutely did not smoke in the room. He said the maid found a cigarette butt in the room and that my card had already been charged. He stated he can’t reverse the charge and I would have to talk to his boss. Eventually the charge was reversed but accusing me of something completely false and charging my card before you even speaking with me is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

The lady at the front desk was so rude! She mumbled and when I asked her to clarify my room type, she started talking to me like I was a child! Called her out on it and she got even ruder! If it hadn’t been so late at night, I would have turned around and left. The room had been remodeled but my stay was ruined by the very rude lady checking me and my husband in.

Complaint- The Grill Restaurant! Not allowed to take food Togo???? My mother was not feeling well so she stayed in her room while I went to the restaurant to get her her complimentary breakfast ( oatmeal) Was told she had to come and get it herself and eat it in the restaurant…. Wow! Really?? Change that policy!!!

Hotel rooms are non-smoking but the casino is smoking, no way to get away from the smell of smoke. I had a suite, which included a couch, it was awful (stains, no support, uncomfortable). Was not worth the extra cost. The breakfast had no flavor. Very bland. The pepper didn’t even have flavor. Better off going somewhere else to eat.

I like the 'Free ATM' in the middle of the casino and the prime rib every day in the Grill. The free breakfast tickets didn't really offer a diabetic choice so had to order and leave stuff off or waste stuff.

Spent one night here to have a day in Virginia City. The hotel was fine, a little dated. The pool was good but not very well maintained. The free breakfast was not very convenient at all as it was at the casino attached to the hotel, and we were told there was a 45 minute wait, which was ridiculous- never experienced that at a hotel breakfast. Otherwise it was ok.

The smell of smoke was so penetrating, I felt I was next to someone smoking the whole time. The food has definitely downgraded, we use to stay here years ago, and I was excited to stay here again and it was so disappointing
