Yuma Inn & Suites

Affordable, clean and comfortable,

I used to stay at the Shilo Inn when in Yuma, which has now become the Yuma Inn and Suites. I was in room 144. The air conditioner was unusually loud and at times woke me up; the carpet was in terrible shape; the doors on the first floor (middle entrance to parking lot) were inoperable and would not open from the inside or the outside (fire escape hazard); the outside door by my room did not close properly (did not need a key to enter the building); none of the ice machines on any floor worked. On the plus side, Maria at the front desk was exceptionally accommodating. It was relatively quiet at the hotel. Restaurants were located nearby.

My mother passed away suddenly so we had to drive 12 hours to Arizona. I booked this hotel because it looked nice in the photos online and was pet friendly, which we needed. This place looks absolutely NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS ONLINE. When we arrived, we weren’t even sure if we were at the right place because it looked abandoned! Our room was disgusting. There were stains all over the carpet, the security latch on the door was busted off, and there were large red stains on the bed skirt that looked like blood. There was a large dead cockroach behind the drapes, a baby one in the bathroom, and one in the hallway near our door. The hotel hallways were dark and musty and the air conditioner in our room barely worked. It left the room humid and about 75°. Staff is minimal. There were a couple nice ones but the lady at check in was not friendly at all. At check in they asked for a credit card for incidentals. I was specifically told nothing would be charged to my card. I should have checked my account before we left because they charged $165 to my card. When I called to complain and find out what those charges were, I was informed it was for pet fees which they failed to collect at check in. I explained to him that I was told I would not have any charges on my card. His response was they would reverse the charges if I wanted to go in and pay cash. I was already 10 hours away from the hotel. The absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. You’d be wise to avoid it at all costs!

The hallway going into the room was to hot the elevator was hot and the hallway muggy smell no A/C in the 3th. Floor
