Outrageous cost for valet parking otherwise a lovely historic hotel in Denver. Convenient to union Station and 16th st mall. Staff is friendly. We love the Brown Palace and will return in the future.

Even though the elevators unexpectedly went down, the staff were gracious and helpful. We did not feel inconvenienced at all. Staff from top to bottom were great. The room was fantastic. We would definitely stay again.

This is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Denver. I do recommend staying there, but keep in mind it's over 100 years old. The main elevators worked occasionally. You could take the service elevators but if you don't get off on the 2nd floor and walk, you're in the kitchen. When I checked in they told me I had been upgraded to a king corner room from my 2 room suite. I don't think it was an upgrade. I challenged them - nicely - on that and lost. The room was large with 1 desk chair and a second chair even my husband couldn't sit in. High tea is as wonderful as it always was and the staff was exceptional. If you want breakfast, you need to go out. There are nice restaurants very near so that wasn't hard to do. Also parking is strictly valet, but the service was again excellent. I do recommend staying here.

Really enjoyed the live music with the piano player and then later on with the jazz band. Made for a very relaxing afternoon and great ambiance. Oh and loved the American flag! Overall, a great experience staying there. One negative is the valet parking - $63! That is a bit outrageous even for this day and age. As much as we enjoyed staying there, the cost for valet parking will definitely weigh into our decision where to stay next time we come to Denver.

Been going for past 50 years. Everything about the hotel is fine except for one glowing disrepancy. Charginf $63 for overnight parking is outrageous. When one is paying that much for a room, a parking fee like that is an insult, a poke in the eye. There is no way the cost is justfied, even if it is a "third party" parking concession. That's enough to keep us from coming back

A fabulous "heritage hotel" in close proximity to transit and Denver attractions. The bar, the atrium, and restaurants are all a step back in time, with wonderful period decor and furnishings. An architectural marvel! Highly recommended if you have an opportunity to stay here.

I Paid $500/ night believing i was staying at a 4 star hotel. The room had paint peeling off in large chunks from the ceilings. The bathroom had large areas where large paint chunks were peeling off from ceiling trim and from around shower heads. Shower door had no seals and water went outside around shower base and sealent was brown and moldy. Shower soaps and wash was small tubes enough for one person use. Asked house keeping which was outside door when we left for more and they wrote room and what was requested down and nothing was in the room when we returned. Some one left a wine glass in the hallway by the stairs door and it was there for 2 days before some one picked it up. Walls had chunks of wall paper torn up and hanging the whole time we were there (4 nights) being from Denver i was dissappointed that such an iconic hotel was so poorly taken care of.

All in all an amazing hotel with great character. Rooms exceptionally clean. I would say the showers were small and a bit too much water with a rainfall and regular showerhead in a tiny shower. Other than that, dining, experience and all was amazing

Beautiful historic hotel, but had a lot of issues. We walked into our hotel room and it had a leaking ceiling. Was not a big issue though. We had issues with our TV and called about it. They said they would send someone to fix it. They never came. In the lobby, they have a bathroom with a very leaky faucet that was not fixed in the few days we were there. At one point it was gushing water and the handle was off. They got it repaired so that it wasn't gushing, but it still leaked very badly. We also saw a wall repair going on in the hall of our floor. It just came across that the hotel was not being well maintained.

I was expecting a better place, however the rooms, hallway, stairs, and floors are dirty. Closest are filled with things hanging around. No wipes properly. Bathroom has stained and furniture are old falling apart. Very small fridge that doesn't work. No microwave. No water. Didn't like it at all. Staff is very rude and didn't respond to any questions, no even when asked about the story of the hotel. I will not recommend or stay again.

The lobby and the Ship Tavern were great! The suite was a let down: tired, a bit dirty, cold, and the kitchen smelled like sewage, which unfortunately made the living room unusable. It’s a beautiful old classic hotel, but they need to focus on more than serving high tea. For the price, you can do better elsewhere, which is too bad because I really wanted to love it.

They common areas of the property are STUNNING. The room was just ok. Its an old property so I wasn't expecting a modern room. However, the bathroom cabinets had the doors removed leaving almost a shell of a cabinet. The shower lack hot water and almost no water pressure. It felt like the room overall needs a renovation, strange wall feature that felt like a band aid, old carpeting and a tad musty. Its an iconic location and hotel with a deep history. It is also on the upper price point because the hotel is iconic. I hope they can improve the overall quality of the rooms.

It’s a great building in a good location and the afternoon tea is wonderful. It was our second time to the tea, first time staying a night. My only complaint was the bed - for the price a bit more could be spent for more comfortable beds that don’t move with every toss and turn.

The property was very cool and we loved the history of it and learning all about it. Our bed was a 3/5. The room wouldnt go below 71°, so we were hot all night and then add the unformfortable bed; we didnt sleep well. We asked to have the A/C looked at and a box fan was left in our room. We didnt use it becuase we had a ceiling fan that moved a lot of air,; albeit it was warm air. So, I am sure their A/C system needs updating. Also, the room was clean but carpets needed vacuuming as well did all the the hallways.

Our room was nice but we stayed in winter and our heat didn’t work. We only stayed one night and after mentioning the heat issue in the morning to the hotel they didn’t bother to offer any sort of concession. The don’t find that to be professional. Stayed there numerous times but lately I feel the customer service isn’t up to par. Our bartender at dinner didn’t take our order or even offer drinks until after 15 minutes of sitting at the bar - a bit clueless. Pretty hotel but as I said I think they are definitely starting to lack in service and attention to detail.

The heat in the room did not work. The thermostat was not even functioning. I understand in old buildings it’s harder, but they did not listen at the front desk when I said the thermostat did not even light up. So at 4 am, they sent maintenance. Who checked that none of the pipes were hot. Then he went to the basement to adjust it, still with no way to adjust it myself. After 20 min I called the front desk again and asked what was happening and they said “did you tell maintenance what temperature you wanted it?” How will they adjust the temp for ONE room from the basement? Maintenance came up (he was very very nice) and said it’s broken. Would you like to move rooms. At this point it was 5 am. Moving rooms should have been the first option. The next room the thermostat said it could adjust the temp. I set it to 75. It never made it above 67. I have raynauds which is VERY painful when I am cold. I put on a hoodie, socks, pants and hat to sleep. I am not rich, a single mom, the hotel is EXPENSIVE. If a guest calls at 4 am with a problem prevents sleeping, it’s not time to send maintenance to fix it. The hotel itself was beautiful,. I am obsessed with history. The Brown Palace has been on my bucket list forever and Halloween was my birthday and it was a tough day. Such a bummer that the stay was so difficult. The new room had paint splattered on the carpet and everything was dusty. Really broke my heart.

We expected a better hotel, we got a room in the 8th floor which was terrible, bathroom did not have hot hot water only lukewarm and the room was very cold , we tried to up the temperature but the thermostat did not work . All in all it was a very bad experience

We treated ourselves to a nice staycation night, and felt disappointed with zero communication from the check in that what we booked was not available.

Arrived to Hotel at 5pm and was told room was not ready. An hour half latter was given access to our room. Found the toilet non functioning . Informed front desk and was told that it would taken care of. Return to the property at 11:30 pm and found that problem still exists with all cold water non operational. Informed the front desk and ask for different room but was told hotel was completely booked. I felt that they knew that room had issues. If they had been upfront about their predicament and place us into another hotel, I would've no issues

Absolutely terrible experience. I had parcels sent to the hotel in advance for a conference and the parcels couldn't be found for more than a day. The first room they gave me had been renovated the last time about 50 years ago. After I complained they gave me a bigger one. Not a better one. The room had a wardrobe with sliding doors. One door was missing, so you looked the whole day into an open wardrobe. I asked them about the door and they said, someone smashed the door and the door hadn't been replaced so far. On top they had a super loud air conditioning in the room. I measured the noise with my iPhone. It said 58 db. Day and night. No possibility to switch it off. Can you imagine to sleep with that noise? I told the room service about that and they said, they could bring me a bottle of champagne in exchange for the noise but the noise couldn't be changed. BTW: room service forgot to make my room the first day, so I had to remind them in the late afternoon to finally do my room and on top they didn't clean the floor. There was dirt in the room on the carpet and also in front of my room and it stayed there for incredible four days. And the worst is: nobody takes responsibility. On day two I wanted to talk to a manager. The receptionist went to the back and came back after 10 minutes to tell me that there is no manager on duty and she would be the one. That can't take ten minutes. Obviously the person in charge was not willing to come to the front desk and help me.

The service at the Brown Palace was very accommodating and pleasant. It really stood out compared to many other hotels in all our travels all over the world. I wish we could have stayed longer and we will make plans to do so next time as we love taking trips to Denver and enjoying the city. Our room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel is such a glorious experience. Service in both the Ship Tavern and Ellington’s was excellent. We will definitely recommend the Brown Palace to our friends. Our only complaint that may become problematic in the Summer time on the west facing side of the building was there doesn’t seemed to be no a/c. We will definitely consider staying during the winter.

Absolutely horrible, I have been triple charged for one night of stay, originally payed through Expedia, on check In confirmed that I already payed. On check out I asked the attended I could see how much I owe and was told over and over it would be emailed to me. Gave up checked my email latter that day and I was charged for the rooms again called the hotel and checked my bank statement and saw I now have three charges for one night of stay. I’m still disputing with the property about this. To top it all off there was no hot water and the mattress is still the original spring mattress.

Brown Palace was absolutely stunning! We really enjoyed our stay. Rooms and the whole facility were absolutely beautiful. The only thing I believe would push people away would be the surrounding area and the number of homeless. It seems to have really gone down hill since our last visit to downtown Denver, in that area.

Ruined our Valentine's Day Dinner, horrible waitress in the Atrium. Didn't take our order for over 40 mins after seating, so then we had the maitre d' take our order, after we complained. This didn't correct her behavior, and we wanted to order an entree, which she tells us like we're kindergarten kids, that we can't order and entree, there's a special occasion going on in Churchill's so you can only order appetizers. We booked for dinner, and was not told this would be a problem, while other wait staff went and got menus from the Ship's Tavern and brought them entrees from there. We were not afforded that privilege. The next morning, we were turned away from Ellyngton's by their maitre d' with plenty of open tables and she had just sat a couple just seconds before us. She told us she had "just closed her numbers" and if we weren't staying that night as well, then she couldn't help us. After spending over a large amount of money for the night and dinner, plus time at the ship's tavern, I'll stay at a Holiday Inn so I know I will be treated poorly for a much CHEAPER price. Thanks, you ruined our dinner and stay.

Great hotel, definitely a historic vibe. The Ship Tavern is awesome and feels like the real old school deal.Ellingtons had a great brunch and loved the live piano and brass accompaniment on Sunday morning. Palace Arms was a nice late night stop for a final night cap and cigar if you're into that. The hotel is a bit outdated, could use a touch up, but everything was in working order nonetheless. Rooms are small, but this is what you get in historic hotels, so we expected it. Just be prepared to be in a small space. It can add to the historic feel if you prepare yourself. Overall a nice hotel and great experience!

A wonderful stay at the Brown Palace. I will be staying there again for sure! On Sunday morning there was a Jazz Brunch and the band was extremely good. Music wasn’t too loud and sitting near the band, I was still able to have a conversation with my daughter. The food was also very good. Everything at the hotel was wonderful except for two very minor issues. The food at the piano/bar lounge was not great and my room had a stale smell about it, which was mitigated by turning the fan on high for a while. Otherwise this was a great stay and I will be back!

Service was great, especially Dawa at Ellyngton’s breakfast. The room was clean and neat, but the curtains were broke and the bathroom vanity needed replacing. Was not a fan of the jazz music in the lobby. I have always wanted to stay at the Brown Palace and finally did. Hoping I can do it again soon.
